"Yeah, stop asking that. You really think I'd let you get away from me without doing something for me should I require it? Stupid. Now come on, don't keep me waiting. And remember my rules!"
Jason just nodded, channeling his feelings into keeping up as Bishop seemed to feel the need to rush down the stairs at a pace that people otherwise might not take. Jason stood a little to the side, listening to the exchange going on between the family members, amazed at the interactions by themselves. He had always gotten along with his siblings while sober, but other than that, he had been a terrible brother. These brothers all seemed sober enough.
"Is there some stupid made- up holiday dedicated to being annoying that I'm not aware of? Almost everyone seems to be doing a damn good job of pissing me off the past twenty four hours..."
He smiled slightly at Bishop's drawling, finding that he believed it was true. He suppressed the smile quickly, schooling his features to be calm and expressionless for fear of Bishop not being happy with the smile. Jason wondered why Jane was still outside considering she wasn't inside and Anise was going with Mirabelle.
Anise appeared once again and the ability Jason had had a moment ago was much harder to maintain. He smiled at her, not sure if she saw it or not. He suppressed the fluttering his heart was making, knowing very well that it wasn't for her, but for her sister. The sister that was no longer alive.
Jason stayed quiet, enjoying the interactions before him as majority of the party seemed to be happy, everyone excluding Bishop that is.
Jason wished to talk to Anise, wished to ask her if she wanted the letters he had always intended for her sister to make her know how much she was cared for. At the same time however, Jason was pretty sure that he shouldn't say anything. If Bishop took his words the wrong way, which was very possible, then things could go from how they were, which Jason classified as moderately okay, to terrible. It was something he should wait until it was only Anise and Jason, and perhaps anyone besides the head of the house and Bishop. Yes. That seemed suitable and doable.
He tugged on his gloves slightly, not really sure what he should be doing or whether he should be doing anything at all. He envied the girls slightly for knowing what they should be doing, wishing he was as knowledgeable about his new position as the girls were. It was rather upsetting if he was going to be honest. At least on his part. He enjoyed knowing what to do and knowing how to do it and now he was at a loss for both.
