One Year Ago

Paige sat by the lake holding a glass of alcohol in her hand just listening to all of the amazing stories Callum always seemed to be telling. Most of them were about the rumors that were spreading across Rosewood High, others were just made up bullshit. But either way it always seemed to entertain Paige. A fire kept the small group of five warm during the cold night. This was something the group did every year on their last weekend of Summer Vacation. They'd tell their parents they were staying at each other's houses and camp out on the Rosewood Lake.

Once Callum finally stopped speaking, he stood to his feet, "I'm going to go get some more wood for the fire. I'll stay close," he stated before making his way towards the wooded area to gather some more firewood.

After hearing those words, Paige grew slightly concerned watching as he went to do it by himself. "Should someone go with him?" the brunette questioned, looking to Amelia, Tristan, and Thomas.

Even though Rosewood always seemed to be quiet, Paige still found that it was unsafe to walk around at this time of night alone, no matter who you are. Maybe it was just her overprotective side coming out; but either way she was concerned and worried. The female sighed as she began praying that Callum would be safe.

Tristan was never really one to enjoy camping, but every year his friends always seemed to talk him into it, making him feel guilty. It was always the same, "Come on, it's our tradition," or "It wouldn't be the same without you," etc. No matter what everyone else said, they still managed to have him tag along.

Though once again, Callum was telling the group all of the small rumors he had heard around Rosewood High. About the cheerleaders, the staff, and the other citizens in the town. Somehow Callum always seemed to be able to know all of the towns deepest secrets and know every rumor that was floating around. Part of him was curious about how he managed to find all of this out, but the other part honestly didn't care.

"I'm going to go get some more wood for the fire. I'll stay close," Tristan heard Callum state as he stood to his feet and began making his way over towards the woods.

Just moments later, Paige chimed in, "Should someone go with him?" he heard her question to the rest of the group.

Honestly Tristan had no idea. There were times when Callum needed to do things on his own and if anyone tried to help he would just explode at them for no damn reason. The male just shrugged his shoulders, "I don't know. I think he'll be fine on his own," he stated before taking a sip from his alcoholic beverage with a sigh and looked around at the two girls and Thomas.
