Aimee tried to point a panicked look at Anthony, but he was already engrossed with Erin and dancing. Which, under any other circumstance, would have been really nice. Aimee always wants Carr to really get out there, and maybe with a little help from the booze now he can. Sighing, she looked at Lane, who was seated next to her. They hadn't been this close since, well, since they were this close, and her heart had immediately started to beat rapid time. Her mental guard was down, and since Lane was so close Aimee could almost feel something from her. Aimee had honestly shoved every ounce of thought about Lane to the very back of her memory and had yet to deal with it. But now, with Lane sitting in front of her, all of it was coming back.
There is no way to really think about this without sounding completely homophobic...she thought sadly. She wished Tyler were here. As much as she hated her older brother's constant vigilance, his secure presence often made her feel a lot more comfortable. It took her a minute to realize that Lane had asked her something. "No, I'm...I'm not hungry..." She said lamely. Figures in the moment she needed it most her sarcasm failed her and all she could muster was awkwardness. "What do you...want?" Aimee asked, cursing herself inwardly.
Looking at Lane, all of the memories she had tried to push away just kept coming forward. But she wasn't...she wasn't really into her, was she? Booze and sexuality crises do not mix, she groaned to herself.
