When Monday morning rolled around, Emily woke up early as usual, only to find Thomas already awake, once more hoping to slip away from the house while she was sleeping. "I heard you had quite an interesting time at the party." Thomas said with a smirk, finishing up his juice and putting the glass in the sink. "I wouldn't be surprised if Rudi just ignored you now. He got what he wanted." He said with a small, cruel laugh. "You're so naive Emily." He added, shaking his head. Emily frowned deeply at her cousin's words, but didn't say anything in return, not feeling as if his words justified a response.

The ride to school was a quiet one, and Emily got out of the car, leaving her cousin as soon as they got there before his friends had a chance to show up. Emily made her way down the hall to her locker, and just as she'd feared, the word had spread. People were staring and whispering as she walked past, it was even worse than it had been on her first day at this school. She kept her head up, trying to pretend that the words didn't bother her even as she heard the word 'slut' a few times. She didn't understand why people were being so nasty, it wasn't like she'd done something they hadn't, especially if the rumors were to be believed, a lot of girls had been with Rudi, so why did it matter so much to them that she had.
