She listened to what he said, letting her toes sink into the sand and just watching the waves. There was a silence. "Well, that's lame," she responded. Alexis swirled to face him, the sand that had gathered on the folds of her dress spraying out and her hair bouncing around her face. "If you have to give up your name to keep up that tradition. Like, goddamn. That's your name."
Alexis let out a sigh. "No... It's not my place to speak out on your traditions. Never mind. Just..." Moving forward once more, she walked along the beach, the waters to her right, the city of Sapal to her left. "Aries ways and Scorpio ways contrast so much. Strange to think we're right next to each other." She walked as if on a tightrope, shoes dangling from one hand. "Then again, you have a royal family. We have to fight to be on top. We've trained to do so since birth."
Her head was held high, her locks trailing behind her. "You fight to win, to live, to be. And we're proud of it." She looked over her shoulder to look to him. "So give yourself a break, Scorps. If you weren't better as one thing, that means you were meant to be a better something else. Live up to something. If there isn't anything to live up to, make something to live up to." Alexis grinned. "Be isn't an action verb. Act is."
