Alessandra, or Alice rather, had been having a wonderful rest with a wonderful dream attached to it. She had been laying in the garden gazebo, her head resting upon something warm. The scent of flowers swam around her, and beautiful music played in the distance. She looked up to realize her head had been resting in a person's lap... A man's lap. Edwin's lap. He sat perfectly, gazing down at the book in his hand, reading to her softly. It had been a wonderful dream, and she wished she hadn't needed to wake up. Of course, the life of a Princess was never easy or relaxing, and Alice was always busy.
"Alessandra, its time to wake up."
The deep voice stirred her from her rest as it always did. She was glad it was always him to wake her. He always brought the scent of fresh fruit and scones with him from being near the kitchens. It was refreshing. She slowly peeled her eyes open to see who she already knew was there. Edwin, her faithful butler. "Good morning." She murmured softly, like a mouse. Alice had always been soft spoken.
Slowly, the silver haired girl pushed herself up into a sitting position and rubbed her eyes tiredly. "Thank you for waking me. Not sure what I would do without you. You are like my personal alarm clock." She giggles tiredly and pushed her long hair away from her face and fixed her nightgown. Part of her just wanted to bury herself back into the fluffy pillows and blankets, but she knew that wasn't possible. There would be maids waiting for her in her bathroom and dressing room, preparing to make her look the part of a trie Princess.
Alice slowly ambled over to the window where Edwin resided, and looked outside with him. She would rather stay inside her room all day, or be out in the gardens. She tucked a few strands of her ruffled hair behind her ears. Today would be long, and probably chalked full of suitors. She wasn't sure how much more of this she could take.
