Edwin sighed. He wasn't sure what to do. He just wanted to take her pain away, but he didn't know how. Edwin held her closer, trying his best to make her feel safe. "It is your future and only you can decided what to do with it, but..." Edwin said as he backed away and got on the ground on one knee. He held both her hands with his white gloved ones. "I will remain by your side." Edwin smiled. "You are my beloved Princess and that will never change." His eyes looked at her calmly, while he showed a charming, gentle grin.
Edwin held her hands, and bent down, kissing them lightly. Her hands weren't all that he wanted to kiss, but he knew they were all that he could. "You're so very strong Alice, I envy your courage. If anyone could ever make a change, it's you." Edwin said reassuringly. "Remember that story I used to tell you about? About the boy who fell in love with a little bird. She was caged and then he freed her? I believe your that little bird. Now you just need to find your boy." He chuckled.
It almost pained Edwin to say these things. His feelings for Alice were becoming even more obvious and even he couldn't deny them. But he needed to hide them, or so he thought.
