"Thank you very much...perhaps I'll see you around when I'm not crashing into people," he called after her.

"Yeah, maybe."

Cas kept her head down as she came on to campus, running across to the building she needed to be in. Thankfully, the lecturer was late and she slipped into her usual seat. "Hey, Cassie!" Cas looked up at the sound of her name. Claire, a bubbly red-haired girl, was calling her name.

"Yes?"

"You still good for tonight?"

Cas frowned, "Tonight?"

Claire slid into the seat beside her, "Yeah, there's a group of us going out tonight, you said you would," Claire dropped her voice, "Ben's gonna be there."

Cas dropped her notebook onto the desk, "Oh, try and hold me back," she said dryly, wondering where the hell that rumour had come from. "I'll be there okay?"

"Cool. Seven at Jamie's house, okay?" Claire got back up and practically glided back over to her seat. Did Ben know about this? That she apparently had a raging crush on him? Don't get her wrong, Ben was cool to hang around with, but that was it. He was the slightly nerdy, really cool guy she liked hanging out with. She had zero desire to jump into bed with the guy. Not unless she got really desperate.

Cas took a sip from her bottle. Claire was talking about something, but the music was drowning her out. Cas could feel the heat spiking on her neck. Claire landed a drunken kiss on Cas's cheek, "When are you and Ben gonna hook up?" Her voice managed to sneak over the music.

"When I get over my unrequited love for you."

"Awwww, I love you too."

Cas drained the rest of her beer, "I'm gonna head out for some air, you coming?"

Claire shook her head emphatically, "I'll let the others know where you are, okay?"

Cas gave Claire the thumbs up and headed outside. The cool air was a sharp contrast to the heavy heat inside. Cas sighed with relief, grateful that she'd had the foresight to tie her hair up before she came out. She leaned against the wall, feeling the cool brick on her bare shoulders. It was too warm in there. It was always too warm in the bar. She envied her friends, evidently they didn't feel the heat as quickly as she did. Lucky them, she thought.
