❝Let the soul leave
before the wind sears
You upon the hollow belly
with its nails so keen
shaped by the volcano’s obsidian
raised drinking glass❞

This was so easy! The bird was already walking towards him. If he was nice and gentle, perhaps it would not burn him. He could win it over and get it to follow him back to the man that was looking for this beauty. He couldn't help but smile at the bird. It really was such a magnificent looking creature. He wondered what it was like to be a flaming bird. What did it do on a daily basis? What did it eat? So lost in the bird, Niall didn't even notice when someone walked up on the scene. Even more surprising was the fact that Niall hadn't seen him in his vision of this bird.
Niall gasped and tensed, both eyes focusing on the stranger. Unfortunately, the bird was startled to and drew up the fire. He cried out as the fire snaked onto his arm. He rolled as he tried to put out the fire before it did any severe damage to his skin. He gave a sigh of relief when he put out the fire and quickly grabbed at his sword to fight off the stranger who could very well be a threat. He looked up however, only to see his bounty... burst into flames as it died.
"No!" he cried as he rushed over to the man and sputtered to a halt. He even dove for the ashes that fell and tried to scramble and make a pile of the ashes that had dropped to the ground. Gone! The Phoenix was gone! How hard had the guy held the Phoenix that he managed to squeeze it to death? The poor bird didn't deserve to die by strangulation. Niall watched as the ashes slid between his fingers as if the brilliant bird had never existed. Niall stared at the ashes for a moment dumbstruck by this completely unforeseen ending. What the hell happened? Who the hell was this guy? Niall grit his teeth and looked up at the man that was much taller than him even if he were standing toe to toe with him. In that moment, he wasn't rational and all he wanted to do was rip the man apart.
He got to his feet then and shoved the man back. "What the fuck is wrong with you? What did you do to it? How could it have just died in your arms!? Where the hell did you even come from? I didn't see you!" he growled. He immediately focused his blind eye on the man and induced a vision centered on the stranger. Unfortunately, all he saw was the mist. There was.... there was nothing. He saw vague images but it was like when he tried to search his own future; blank. He couldn't see anything from this man and it was unnerving. He couldn't even get a name for this guy. This had never happened with anyone else before.
"Just who the hell are you?"
