Niall crossed his arms as he watched the dark haired stranger interact with the baby bird. There could be no mistaking it; the bird imprinted on the man. Just his luck. Why did everything always have to be complicated? A good, wealthy, easy life was in reach and now getting to the finish line was that much harder. The bird wouldn't go with him willingly if it wanted this weirdo. He doubted the man would be keen on the idea of just going with him on his way to drop the bird off for money. He looked like one of those people who was all about wild life and preserving nature. So, they were at an impasse. Unless the guy killed the phoenix again and when it came back, Niall would be the first person it saw. Then again... staring at the creature made him not want to harm it physically. He supposed that was a natural protective reaction coded into anything tiny and cute.
"Sooooo she imprinted on you. Wonderful. Whelp, I saw her first and by all rights you did kill it earlier. There is no way I am going to leave it alone with you. It looks like we may be stuck together for a little while," Niall answered. The treasure hunter extended his hand to him then. "The name's Niall. What is your name? And what are you doing out here anyway?" he asked. Since he couldn't rely on his power to help him figure out who this person is, he was going to have to interrogate him the good old fashioned way.
"And I left my bag a little ways that way and need to get it. You are coming with me. Where is your gear? I can't help but notice you don't have anything with you." And he was shirtless. He had to admit the stranger had some nice lean muscle going for him. He was sure all of the ladies fancied him. Hell, if he wasn't in the situation he was in right then, he may even ask if the man was willing for a tumble right here and now. He quickly pushed those thoughts aside least he become too distracted to focus on his cash bird.
"Oh do you happen to know what to feed her? Does she eat worms like a normal bird?" he asked as he picked the bird out of 'Mommy's' grasp and set it on his own shoulder as he waited for the man to follow him.
