❝Let the soul leave
before the wind sears
You upon the hollow belly
with its nails so keen
shaped by the volcano’s obsidian
raised drinking glass❞

Niall looked up just in time to see the man pass into his blind spot. Well that was annoying. Why did he walk into his blind spot? He tilted his head to the side and turned himself but the man somehow managed to stay just out of sight. Ah well. He heard his voice and he could judge his distance. He hadn't come closer to him so he wasn't too afraid that the man would do something to him. If he sounded like he was approaching, then there would be a problem. Besides, if the phoenix liked him to, the bird may not be too happy with this stranger if he did do something to hurt him. He closed both of his eyes and let his head fall back as he enjoyed the night air.
"Okay" he answered the man. Then he heard Keisuke walking away and into the trees and brush. He frowned and turned towards him but he had already vanished. Why did he leave? Hadn't he told him he had the material needed to start a fire? Ah well. Maybe he was hunting for something. He shook his head and caressed his prize with a grin. "It is okay, Eos. He is going to come back in a moment," he promised the bird when she started to fidget on his shoulder.
Niall got up then and started to unroll his blanket in a nice position by the soon to be fire and arranged his bag to make a somewhat soft pillow for himself. When that was done, he sat down and crossed his legs. It was time to figure out what path to take next since the man was gone. He didn't want to be too vulnerable around Keisuke. He shook himself to try and rid all thoughts from his mind and let his eyes get hazy. He hummed to himself to relax his mind and muscles and murmured the town name in question. Within moments, his pale eye began to swirl with silver mist. The physical realm around him faded away as the tendrils of the visions curled around Niall and pulled him deeper into the trance.
The town came into view then and everyone was in a state of uneasy. Many of the men were out searching for someone... he couldn't tell who they were searching for but there were wanted posters. Strangers were detained and questioned and locked up in some cases before being released. He could feel the threads of anxiety, anger, and anguish. It made Niall shiver in the vice of danger. Someone was murdered here... no... more than one. There were whispers about the family that had been slaughtered... a killer that had vanished....
Niall hadn't even noticed when Keisuke came back into the little camp. He was still lost in the visions and the man's tone of voice wasn't startling enough to wake him. Keisuke even had time to sit down, arrange the fire pit, and Eos lit up the wood. Moments later, Niall blinked once, twice, and then in a flutter as he 'revived' himself and pulled himself back into the physical realm. He glanced over and immediately tensed, nearly jumping out of his skin. How long had the man been sitting there? It creeped him out. And the fire had been started to... his loss of the physical world during a vision always was a bit scary.
He cleared his throat and leaned back to rest his weight on his hands. "Welcome back. I guess I started to fall asleep where I was sitting. Sorry about that," he chuckled. "Thanks for starting the fire."
