' You shouldn't bring back the memories of his past life.' The words reverberated in Hina's head like an endless echo, and he looked up at Risa with a pained expression, knowing she was right but not wanting to admit it. One part of him wanted Makoto to never see anything from the past, to forget about the war and his death forever; yet another part of him wanted wanted their memories together to be returned, so everything could be the same. XX
"Well, its not like I've ever really wanted to tell him he's died before, so it shouldn't be that hard to keep all of this past-life business a secret from him."
XX
Hinata put on his brightest smile when Makoto returned, and engaged in a new conversation as if nothing had been said. Risa said nothing more on the subject and they proved to get along quite well with one another, conversing as if they'd known each other for a hundred years, which was more or less true. The three of them joked around and chatted for the next couple of hours without interruption, until Hinata's cell phone went off from inside his bag. XX
"Aw...it looks like a bunch of our waitresses called in sick again, so I have to go to work tonight in order to make up for the loss. Sorry, Makko." Hina smiled apologetically and gathered his things. "If you two haven't eaten dinner yet, then you should come on over tonight. You come so often that my boss is actually considering giving you a permanent discount!" With another bright smile, Hina bid the two goodbye and headed to work, distracted by his thoughts as he ran there through the dark. After all, there was a lot to think about, especially when it came to the matter of his love's lost memories. XX
