Chitose split off from the group at the intersection they usually met at, and Yuzuki headed to her part-time job in the opposite direction, which left Hina to walk Makko to his complex (he'd have to pass it to get to the cafe anyways). The two chatted just the same as every day. However, Hinata didn't tousle Makoto's hair like he usually did, instead pulling him into a gentle embrace before grinning widely and skipping off down the empty, grey street. XX
The next morning, Chitose and Yuzu had been requested for morning cleaning (if that's even a thing), once again leaving Makko and Hina to walk together. Not that they were complaining, since their conversations were a bit more lax when the girl's weren't around. "If we end up going to the same college, perhaps we should share an apartment or something. It'd be easier to split rent for one apartment, and it might be nice to have someone around all the time. I've always lived alone, so I don't know what it'd be like to share a living space. Must be fun." Hina's expression showed the slightest hint of sadness at that, and he would be lying if he said that he never got lonely, especially when he'd spent decades in the constant presence of someone else. XX
They arrived at their classes that moment, so nothing more was said on the subject. During the next hour or so, Hinata found himself nodding into a dreamland of memories of when he and Makoto had lived together. Their home was always changing, since they loved so many different types of houses, and sometimes they weren't even in a house, instead sleeping in a flower-filled field or in a tropical forest. That was one thing he missed from Heaven, the ability to change your surroundings with nothing more than a thought. He didn't wake until three classes had passed, and suddenly it was time for Gym. Hinata excitedly followed his classmates to the locker room, leaving them to pair with Makko the second he had finished changing clothes. XX
