Lane had been out all morning driving in his truck. He needed some supplies for food, as well as buy some wood carving stuff. He took his time driving back home to his cabin on the mountain. It was literally a cabin on a mountain. His land he owned covered the entire mountain, so a year or so back he decided to open up the natural trails there to the public. Business has been booming, and Lane has enjoyed seeing everyone. Some of the people who go to the trails often will usually visit Lane up on top of the mountain. That is if they're up to the treck. Pulling into the parking lot of the trails he waved to a few of the park rangers there. Most of them were leaving, due to whispers of a storm rolling in soon.
Lane pulled up to a gate, getting out and unlocking it. Pulling through the gate he locked it again. The gate was to protect his driveway from anyone who thought it was a trail. The trail he takes does cross a few paths, and some people have wandered onto it, so Lane made sure to drive slow. He started to zone out after a while, his mind filling with thoughts about what he's going to do today. He just about missed the girl who was right in the middle of his path. Lane cussed, slamming on his breaks. He quickly cut the engine and jumped out. He could hear someone running away, as well. "Hey!....HEY!" Lane yelled, trotting a few steps forward before deciding it was useless the peruse whoever they were. Lane turned back to the fallen girl. Her forehead as badly gashed, thus Lane paid more attention to that.
He pressed two fingers to her neck, while also investigating the bleeding wound. After feeling a steady, if not fast, heart beat he picked up the girl, holding her under her legs and upper back, Bridal style. She was very light, and it actually surprised Lane. Hurrying to his truck he managed to open the passenger door. Carefully sliding the girl into the seat he buckled her up, and jogged to the other side of his truck. Jumping in he cranked the engine and booked it down the trail, honking every time someone was in his way. They always yelped or screamed, not expecting to hear a car horn all the way up here. Soon he was on a gravel drive way, and on a flattened out piece of land was a good sized cabin mansion. In front of it was a lovely garden, and in back of it, attached, was a 4 car garage.
Not even bothering to pull into the garage Lane jumped out of the car. He could hear barking coming from the house, but he ignored his dog, Mayhem, paying more attention to the unknown girl he met. Hurrying over to her side Lane pulled open the door, and took her out of the truck. Jogging inside he unlocked the door and went inside. The dog, Mayhem, barked and jumped. "Mayhem, down!" Lane ordered, the massive husky instantly backing down and sitting. Lane trotted up stairs to the second level of the house, going into the guest bedroom. He laid down the woman, giving her a once over, still paying a lot of attention to the still bleeding gash, and hurried out of the room. He came back 2 minutes later with a medical supplies kit. 'Thank god for my medical training...' Lane thought as he opened up the kit. He quickly fixed the woman's head, dabbing up the blood and putting a pad of gauze, taped down, over it. There was no need for stitches. Then he grabbed a flash light. Forcing open the woman's eyes he pointed it into her eyes. They responded, thankfully.
Lane sighed, rubbing his stubbly mouth as he looked at the woman. Now that he was actually focused on all of her.... She was incredibly beautiful. His lips pursed as he went over and cleaned up the mess he made with the med stuff. Leaving the room he shut the door firmly behind him. "Mayhem, come!", Lane called. Instantly the dog ran upstairs, his tail wagging. "Sit here and don't move. Bark when you hear her wake up," Lane instructed. The dog just sneezed in his face. Lane's lips pursed once again as he pat the dog on the head, and walked away.
