As Emory laid unconscious, she sensed that someone had moved her but she wasn't all that aware of what was going on. By the time she awoke, she noticed she was in a strange place. Last thing she remembered she was out on the trails training for the marathon that was coming up in a couple days. The brunette slowly sat up in the bed with a raging headache and immediately glanced over at the dog and jumped from surprise as it barked, as if alerting its owner.
"Where the hell am I?" she thought to herself as she raised her left hand up to her head to find that there had been gauze taped over her wound. Wherever she was, someone had to be taking care of her. But with no idea who it was, where she was, or what could happen after the person found out she was awake, she was a bit frightened. Just because the person was gracious enough to patch up her wound, that didn't mean whoever helped her out wouldn't turn around just to hurt her again. Maybe it was just her paranoia messing with her head, but she had a feeling something bad would happen to her.
Emory leaned against the headboard as she let out a soft moan as her head came into contact with the surface. No matter what she tried to do her head hurt more by the second. Every time she moved she felt dizzy and nausea came over her if she moved too fast. From her medical experience, she immediately knew she had a concussion, she just couldn't seem to remember what had happened to her in the first place.
