"I will speak to His Grace in the morning. I would prefer her to be on hand so that I might introduce her." The Patriarch, she assumed said.
"Of course. And it seems she is just in time to meet with you." The Prince spoke as she and Brother Beorn entered the room. The Patriarch frowned looking at her, Evangelina just stood, not saying a word either.
"You have a talent, it seems, for befriending those above your station. I did as well," He said and rose, pacing slightly. Evangelina again was quiet, watching the man. The Prince however gave a grin and made his way out.
"I better inform my lady wife that I will not be exerting myself further today." To that she merely rolled her eyes but bowed graciously.
"If you gain the new king's ear, they will always despise you. It is an unpardonable sin for a lowborn man to surpass his betters due to royal favor. But a foreign, lowborn woman? That is worse."
Evangelina frowned. What an odd thing to say?
"I care very little for anyone's despite." She said, simply. "I am here as a favor, if I make friends, they will be much appreciated." She said, her gaze flickered over to Brother Beorn. " but if I do not, so be it, that is their problem, not mine."
