"It warms my hear to see someone take their promises so seriously. There are many whose words are worth less than the air they're made of," He said and Beorn gave her a sideways glance. It was clear that the Partiarch was always this pompous. Evangelina took a breath.
"The king is young. He is a fine knight, but he has little experience with ruling. The realm needs stability. If I help you, can you help me stir the king in that direction?"
"With all due respect, Father? I'm not here for you." She said, with a frown. " I'm not here for political reasons, I'm here to be a....tutor of sorts for the new King, not an adviser, nor am I his handler." She said, with a bit of an attitude. Already someone wanted to use this position that she didn't even want, to manipulate the new King. It was clear she had more then the King to worry about.
"If you want to steer the king, I am sorry I am not the one to do that." She said and looked at Beorn. She knew she would need Patriarch's help but she wasn't about to be used either. "If I may, I would like to begin my work."
