Evangelina felt her nerves spike at the sound of the voice from behind the door. She swallowed and opened the door, and immediately knew she was in over her head. He was handsome, she couldn't deny that as much as she wanted to His chiseled features, soft honey blonde hair, dark eyes. She couldn't deny his attractiveness, however, this complicated things. It would be easier for her to ignore the advances of a man from who wasn't attractive, and it would mean that he's likely not to taken rejection well, he wouldn't be use to it. She had her work cut out for her.
Standing by the door, her hands cuffed against one another, his eyes unabashedly scanned her body, lingering at what interested him.
"And who are you to disturb the crown prince during a terrible time of mourning?" He said, narrowing his eyes. He was feigning annoyance, but she could tell by his tone he was curious. She didn't wait for the Patriarch to speak.
She probably should have, realizing she was showing her upbringing by not letting the men speak, even though he did address her.
"I am Evangelina, Your grace." She said, swallowing her nerves as best she could. "I did not wish to disturb you, but I was asked to greet this morning." She said, casting a quite glance toward the Patriarch. She should have ended it there, but she wasn't here to be like the other women here, she was to be herself.
She took a step forward.
"But...I was asked here, by your father, weeks before he passed, he was a good man" She said, with a nod. "I am sorry for your loss, Your Grace." she added, "He'd asked me to make a gift, for your brother's bride, and if I could come here, and assist you, as a handmaiden." She said. "The Patriarch holds the decree and it's conditions, but if you'd like to me go, I'll wait until you've mourn, I'd like to, he was a friend, as odd as it sounds." She told him, and gave a small smile. She was treading carefully, with the Patriarch around. She wondered what would happen if she told him what the Patriarch's intentions were.
