Ben watched James leave the office before he turned to Rosemary.

When she mentioned the dream house, a flicker of alarm flashed through Ben's eyes. Dream houses caused the Agency nothing but trouble and he had witnessed first hand what could go wrong inside of them. Ginny's psychiatric ward was filled with dreamers who had fallen into limbo, but also men and women who had entered a dream house and woken up amnesic, or in a coma, or worse. The side effects of dream houses were completely unpredictable. The houses broke a number of extraction regulations but the network of houses and dreamers was so tightly wound that the Agency had a hard time keeping the mess under control. It was men like Peter Whelan that fed the monster; the powerful and the desperate paid to keep the houses thriving.

Ben nodded his head as he listened to Rosemary. It would be hard to tell exactly what went on inside the dream house Whelan attended, unless they were to go in and see for themselves, but that was extremely risky. "You're probably right. I have a hard time believing Whelan would allow his dreams to be compromised. We'll proceed under the pretense that he's had training."

Ben rose to his feet and took the file from Rosemary, scanning the information.

"Here," he said quickly and dropped the file onto the table, pointing. "Your silver fox is going into knee surgery in a few weeks. We can pay off the hospital staff and do the extraction before the surgeon comes in. We'll be in and out quickly, Whelan will have the operation done and will be none the wiser when he wakes. It's fool proof."

Ben looked at Rosemary, counting their team very lucky to have a practically seamless opportunity to do the extraction. He glanced at his wrist watch and let out a soft sigh.

"I should go, we've got a long day ahead of us tomorrow," he said and straightened. He made for the door of the office. Pausing with his hand on the knob, he turned to Rosemary and said, "Try not to work to hard tonight, you've already outdone yourself with the information you've collected on Whelan."

He smiled at her, opened the door to her lab, and slipped out.
