As Alex sat there appearing totally silent he took the time to observe some of the other trainers. "There are some renowned and powerful trainers here. This King Threisheild summoned quite the line up." Alex gave a nod to his friend as he scanned the room.

As much as he didn't exactly like Nanami he could not deny her strength. He noticed that Nanami was talking to another girl, one who he actually recognized.

It was Neve the "Shadow Lady" he had heard about her from Karen. She was the most difficult of the Four as far as he was concerned, there were no doubts that Karen's apprentice was strong and he'd be lying if he said he wasn't looking forward to a battle with her. Thomas however gave what looked like a slight shiver and Alex couldn't help but chuckle lightly. "Don't worry you won't be up against any of her dark types. That's what we have Kai for right?" Thomas let out a sigh of relief but rolled his eyes at the echoing laughter only he was privy to.

As he scanned the room he noticed Lock and the other girl, Riza she said her name was walk into the meeting room. Lock as throughly unpleasant as he was somehow still seemed awe inspiring with his strength. He was impressive but Alex was sure he could beat him if they met in battle. He was strong and considered a legend by many. Exactly the kind of trainer he came here to battle.

Alex's observations were cut short as an extravagant man both in mood and appearance came into the room followed by what Alex could only assume were his Pokemon.

"Hello my honored guests, I am King Threshield. To get a common misconception out of the way, my name is King it is not a title as most seem to think. Though I am not adverse to be treated like one."

"Hm so this is King Threshield? Interesting he's not really a king at all I wonder where his wealth came from then." As he thought about it Alex couldn't help but think how strange the whole situation. Wealthy or not why would he invite everyone here? Looking at King now he found it doubtful there wasn't some kind if alternative motive. Looking around it seemed no one really wanted to speak up after their honored hosts arrival. Alex took it upon himself to break the silence. "Well It's nice to meet you and all Mr. Threshield" He paused for a moment to meet Thomas' gaze. Surprisingly he actually took some effort to sound polite. "But I do have a question. Why exactly did you invite us all here? Not that I don't appreciate the trip but surly you must have a reason for gathering top coordinators and champions together in one place?"
