Ludovica nodded, slowly. Part of her wanted to track down Life immediately, but she knew hasty behavior would only end in regret, so she addressed her father instead.
"What are you going to do?" She asked, frowning slightly. "It'd probably be best if Death knew we found Life--well, if you could call this finding her. It's more like we ran into her."
She paused, thinking about what to say next.
"But then again, maybe it'd be best to follow Aunt Bennie. In case she goes the right way, that is. Whatever happens, though, I'd like to stay with Shoe--if that's okay." She inhaled, slowly. "I just feel like I haven't seen her in such a long time, you know?"
"Your dad really is a creep, isn't he?" Life muttered. Hesitantly, she hopped onto his back, carefully and cautiously wrapping her arms around his neck.
Was she being weird? Was it weird to suddenly meet them and almost immediately ask them to carry you to safety?
It was probably very weird, and it made her feel very uncomfortable, but the desperateness of the situation called for this, didn't it?
Well, she couldn't really tell whether it was a desperate situation or not. For all she knew, she had hours. But on the other hand, she might've had no more than a few seconds. There was no way to tell, so clearly, this was the best path to take.
But why did she feel awkward?
Maybe it all boiled down for it being weird. It was weird that a little girl was climbing onto a stranger's back, that was for sure.
