Life didn't need to be told twice. She broke into a sprint. He'd be okay. She'd be okay. It was all going to be okay, because she wasn't going to let it turn out any other--
"Not so fast, you disgusting f*cking pig."
Life screamed, something digging its teeth into her leg. Panic welling in her throat, she tried to shake it off, but before she could do much of anything, something fell from the trees and latched onto her arm. Several more things came from what felt like everywhere, dragging their teeth and claws along her skin.
"A-and Shoe, stop! That's not--M-Malin, why are you--brothers shouldn't fight!"
"My name isn't Krampus. Weren't you the one who named me? Didn't you help pick out the name? Why don't you even remember my own name?" Kayin asked, fists balling slightly. "Does dad even remember my name? Did he mention me at all, or am I just out of the picture in every conversation?"
He inhaled sharply. "You don't love me, do you?"
