Title: Captain || Dialogue: #960530
Lucian listened intently as La Gata talked, ignoring the drunk Jules. As she talked it was easy to tell that she was a captain. She got all of her points across while managing to look out for her crew at the same time. Lucian couldn't help but be impressed by the way she worked.
Her speech, as convincing as it was, threw up a few red flags for Lucian. She said she knew a man in Tortuga that could make a contract that wouldn't allow betrayal without consequence. As nice as that would be, it sounded a little to good to be true.
Jules seemed ready to go though, if his drunken search for the contract was anything to go by. La Gata pushed Jules away from her before speaking, "Bahari doesn't do written contracts," she paused and cleared her throat. "He requires... a drop of blood or a lock of hair, usually, in order to seal bind us to what we promise." Lucian raised a brow at that.
La Gata continued to explain."Our contract will be with... the other side, this man will only help us contact them. And the other side is pretty punctual with punishing those who break the contract." Dark magic, he thought. He wasn't expecting that. Many people believed in voodoo, but Lucian himself was skeptical. He definitely had some reservations about going through with it, but it wasn't like a little blood oath would hurt him, at least, he hoped it wouldn't.
Victoria didn't seem to be completely on board with the plan either based on her response, but she was at least willing to meet the man.
"So, what do you say?" La Gata looked towards Lucian as she asked this.
It would be stupid of Lucian to throw away the chance of an alliance over a contract, no matter how silly he found the contract to be. "Despite the oddities of this contract, I'll have to concede if it means gaining you as a member of the alliance." He smirked at her. "I just hope that my decision doesn't come back to bite me in the ass."
Lucian jumped when Jules came up behind him suddenly and grabbed his shoulders, shaking him. "I'm with him." Jules said excitedly.
After Lucian calmed himself down from being startled by Jules he said, "You heard the man. Lead the way and we'll follow." He patted Jules on the back. "I'll have to speak to my crew before we go, but that should only take a moment."
