Nasir had ran to every cliff that was near except for the biggest one of all. He heart dropped and he picked up the speed. He was at the base of the cliff when he saw her walking on the edge of the highest cliff. He wanted to shake some sense into the girl, but he was also glad she hadn't jumped or fallen. He bent down, leaning on his knees, and settled his breathing. Then he straightened up and climbed to where she was before running over to her, placing her over his shoulder, and letting her down as far away from the edge with him in between. If she tried running he could swing his arm out and place her on his shoulder and take her back home. "I am getting... rather fucking jealous that you keep wanting to see death more than me. Like... I think I would have the better looking face. But in all seriousness... please don't. Don't jump or go so close one fucking move will send you down into Death's arms. I can't even fucking be pissed at you with worrying about your well being." He walked toward the edge, looking down. Anyone who fell from this cliff would die once they hit the next waterfall. It wasn't like the one she jumped off of by the secret beach. He turned around and looked at her.
"Would you be willing to let me take your place instead?" He whispered, just when a strong enough wind that easily pushed her swept by.
Roshia smiled and told Rowan she loved him and the she would see him when he got back before turning her attention back to Daryl. "Would you and Gene stay for dinner? It would be nice to have a meal together." She said softly.
"We would love that and look at you, being all house wifey." He laughed.
She glared at him jokingly, "We will feed the kid, you can go and find your own food, Brother." He cringed, smiling, and she laughed.
"Ouch, my own daughter... so low." He smiled. Roshia went into the kitchen and started, it would take a few hours to cook in the oven and she wanted to get started so when Rowan came home he could have a meal. Daryl had followed her into the kitchen. She wondered if she would have been doing this with Daryl if he had stayed. Roshia pushed the thought away and got to cutting the vegetables. Daryl helped and they didn't really speak. She could tell he wanted to brush against her hand when they would hand each other things. She turned away from him and placed everything, including the meat, into the pan and placed it in the oven. When she closed it and turned around Daryl was behind her.
She blushed, but didn't say anything. "So you got a paler version of me...let's hope he doesn't pull the last stunt I did." He whispered, caressing her cheek. She didn't move, but he dropped his hand, and stepped back. "Sorry..."
Roshia shook her head and moved from the kitchen back to the dinning room. "So tell me about your wife. How did you meet her? Where is she from? What did she do? How did she go?"
Daryl sat across from her and rubbed the back of his neck, "Ashlyn was her name. We met at the festival they have down there for Fall. I was there just to check it out and she was there selling clothes she had made. They way she talked to the children is what drew me to her. I struck up conversation and from there we kind of started to get to know each other. Before I knew it we were courting and married. Gene came along two years later. She died of an illness when Gene was just nine months. Ashlyn reminded me of you in so many ways. She was strong willed, funny, gorgeous... After the death of my parents something in me just broke. I didn't want to ke-"
"I said I didn't want to talk about our past. I don't care why you broke it off or that you left and went with another woman. It happened and even if I wasn't pregnant or married... I wouldn't ever be with you like that. I am not like Elwin, I won't take back a mistake." She looked down at her lap, tears were beginning to form. Daryl sat there for a moment before getting up and hugging her. Roshia let him, before pushing him away gently.
"I don't blame you, but we can be friends? Right?" He asked softly. She nodded and excused herself to go change.
