Eriko flinched away from Xhevona, hands trembling slightly. Graham, who was on the other side of Xhevona, seemed wary of her as well. He leaned away from her.
"I know I did not kill Bonnie, and that's enough for me to know that you are the killer," Vivara said, her voice deadly serious. "And if you insist on blaming me, then I will gladly sign your death certificate. Everyone, consider the following: I arrived at the conference room early, around 9:45, because I like to be early. I've been early to every meeting from the day we woke up here."
She took a deep breath, continuing. "Bonnie died at 9:36. Do you think I had enough time, from the moment Bonnie died, to stuff her into a washing machine--potentially running into people in the hallway and completely giving myself away as the murderer--wash the blood off my clothes, hide the second weapon I would've used to finish off Bonnie, go to the cafeteria, toast and cream cheese my bagel, and arrive at the meeting room? And as for the bagel. I do believe I was eating it when you came in, wasn't I, Clair? So you can attest that I did in fact have a bagel with me."
"Xhevona arrived to the meeting late," Mercy pointed out. "Which makes sense, because she had to wait until everyone was out of the way to hide Bonnie's body, wash her clothes, and hide the other weapon. I think it's been made abundantly clear at this point who the murderer is, so I'm not sure why we're still debating it."
"I agree," Vivara declared.
