Jay didn't open his eyes till he felt the weight of the couch shift slightly as Gabe sat down next to him. He had the patron in his hand and took a rather large drink from the bottle, glancing over at Jay. "Why'd we stop being friends? Was it really because I was gay?" Jay tensed slightly at the question. There are many reasons why, mainly my father. No absolutely not. He thought to himself, it was the question he had been avoiding since he laid eyes on Gabriel yesterday. How, how do I even answer that? He thought solemnly to himself. Gabe must've noticed how tense he was and offered him the bottle of Patron. Jay took the bottle, even the tiny sip burning the back of his throat. He wasn't in the mood to drink if he was being completely honest, he wasn't even sure if he had gotten over his hangover from this morning.
"Oh, uhm that, that's a difficult question I- erhm" Jay racked his head for something to say. He had repressed everything for so long he wasn't sure he wanted to let it all out. He didn't want to tell Gabriel the truth, because he didn't know what to expect, it's why he didn't tell him years ago. It all hurt too much.
Jay flinched. Slightly but it was still there. He wasn't expecting Gabriel to rest his head on his shoulder. It must be the alcohol He thought to himself trying to let the comfy couch diminish his awkwardness. "Maybe you should um, ease up on the patron Gabe" There was a slight hint of humor in his voice but he also knew that alcohol brought out strange sides in people and he didn't know if he was ready for that.
