Mayelle stood there, staring at her mother in surprise. She couldn't believe this. They'd come all this way to mourn her father, her dead father, and here was her mother kissing some other man in the kitchen. She didn't even care that it was Uncle Q, because it was irrelevant who it was - the point was that she was disrespecting the memory of Mayelle's father by moving on so quickly with someone else. She took a few steps back, almost afraid to have this conversation with them. "W-what are you doing...?" she asked tentatively.
