|| The Blond Executioner ||
The two cats had thought up a plan that might save this world. According to them, all they needed was to make the pentagram. However it needed to be large, and required a sacrifice, which Fearsome was going to volunteer for as someone who had nothing left to lose now. "I'll do my best." Estelle knew that they couldn't just leave it like this. What their ancestors had done, thousands of years ago... she was going to try to fix. Could she do it? If there really was a solution like this, why hadn't mages done something about it already? There was something else here that they didn't know, and a part of Estelle burning deep inside was screaming out to be allowed to go and find out why. Something didn't make sense, and that curiosity was eating away at her.
But first, they had to-
Clap. Clap. Clap. Three figures appeared behind them from a shadow cast on them by one of the miasma giants that wandered the ruined Earth. Manfred was there, smiling widely at them. Victoria was there too, seeming a bit dizzy from traveling via shadows. And of course Erika was there too, except there was something wrong. Her eyes were utterly blank and she was bound by a strange machine clasping her wrists, her stomach, her chest - the four main mana nodes on a body. "Why is she pregnant?" Estelle asked tiredly, having no energy left in her to do anything. Fearsome was there to answer that. "It was Umbral who did it, before you blame the wrong one here. He wanted to create a child with immense mana power, and she wasn't able to do anything to stop it." It was hard to see earlier but the bulge was very visible now, protruding greatly from her womb.
"I'm proud of you, Estelle. You've worked so hard and now you finally succeeded." Manfred was smiling happily, hands behind his back as he stood tall over them. "Now we can finally take back the world and teach humans that mages are to rule." There was a desperation in his eyes as he spoke now, Victoria patting his arm and never letting go of that strange machine. "By harnessing the power of miasma, we can restore our Island to it's natural state - one with mages on top and humans locked away in the corners of society to hide and cry in fear. As fellow mages, let's work together for a brighter future." But didn't he see? Mages was why this all happened in the first place! Humans couldn't have made the barrier, it had to have been mages. Something else was going on here but she didn't know how to put it into words.
But still, she couldn't let Manfred do as he wants. Not here, at the edge of the world itself. "I'm going to end this." Every mage could do this. If you focused your mana on a single node, it'll explode and cause a blast of pure mana energy strong enough to scorch everything around you to cinders. If she could do that, Manfred would no longer be able to terrorize this world. "I'm going to end this all." Estelle whispered, nearly succumbing to the pain of everything about her. Then Fearsome grabbed her by the wrist. "What are you doing you moron. Self sacrifice was never attractive in a woman." He drew a rune that created a small wooden boat, all four of them hopping on. Fearsome's plan was to get back to shore and then there, given some time to recharge, they could properly challenge Manfred and his ideals.
