Today was a lazy day and it was odd to have the day off but it was nice too. Vi didn't mind the break, it was almost a fake peace that she would get to enjoy. It wouldn't be long until the peace was broken, since tomorrow the real deal was going to begin. Even so, why not explore the city before Riven had to leave it in the end? "Did anyone tell you why it's snowing?" Viola asked suddenly, curious. She was still shielding her poor forehead from anticipation of the cruelest flick of all but it didn't come, Riven did not seem to want to use it yet. "Because really, it's only October, it shouldn't be snowing yet." Most of the story had been hushed up but even so, it was still good to know about it.
"It's because of the Goddess, the girl who bears the Light Seed." Did Riven know about that, or was it a secret even Vampires were barred from knowing about? Well, it was too late now, wasn't it? "A few years ago she killed herself, having never recovered from being abducted and abused by a cult. Ever since her suicide, the Earth had been draped in snow, as if the Heavens themselves are crying for her." Viola rolled her eyes. The Soldiers of Light had one job, and because they were incompetent idiots, everyone was going to suffer because of them. "We'll do our job." Viola said with a crafty scowl. "We'll kill the Vampire Lord and the rest of humanity better do their parts too." It was up to Tower to put an end to the Third Impact once and for all, and that would happen after Berlin is taken back and Barons Messaiah and Kitra are deafeated.
Enough of all this doom and gloom, Dominic had a surprise to show them. He always was the type to prepare little surprises for people, wasn't he? Vi decided she would let him do it. "You're gonna spoil her." Vi pouted, wriggling. "You should spoil me too!" Dominic tapped her on the head with his fist. "I think Riven deserves a little spoiling, but you're a little too indulgent, aren't you?" She grinned. "Stop using big words you troglodyte." The two continued to bicker a little until Dom took them to their destination, a pastry shop full of sweets, waiting for their consumption.
It all smelled delicious, Viola could tell without even having to open the door. "Let's go, let's go! Oh, but don't eat in front of Elise, she's allergic to yummy stuff or something." Naturally all the Blood Pact knew each other's pasts and stories, it was part of the reason why they were all so close. "The creme brulee flan is mine." She had already claimed the prize for herself. "I suggest trying macaroons, you might like them." Dominic smiled, glad they were enjoying this. "Let her decide, this is an opportunity of a life time to have whatever she wants." Usually Riven just had to eat whatever was on the menu but now, she had the power to pick for herself. "Since Dom's paying for us, you should take everything and charge his account!" Vi offered, clearly wise advice. Naturally Dominic was buying time for Elise and Doll to make dresses, for Jacob and Christopher to advertise the fashion show, which would be set up and waiting for them. Elise's wish of course, was to become Doll's apprentice in clothes making, because she always loved sewing and making cosplay and wanted her own brand one day. Jacob's wish was the right to duel Christopher whenever he wanted, which Chris was more than happy to grant.
