J-3 kept grabbing, kept snapping and snarling. The roar that it held throughout its approach and leap cut off on landing. The static that swallowed the world was cutting in and out, the voices around it were muddled. One cut in and out, managed to land in the thoughts properly.
Sshh, sshhh. I didn’t hurt him. I promise he’s fine.

The words were tinny, far and far below the understanding of J-3’s psyche. The tiny voice of it’s second mind, that little thing that had begun its growth whilst J-3 had been staying at the resort, spoke yet again.
We need to calm down. There is no threat here. Percival is not here. We are good. It is wearing off. Calm down. Now. … please…

J-3 did not hear either, just barely heard the sound of Alex standing up and beginning to tug and pull on it. Its’ awareness expanded some, taking note of the sky blue constructs beginning to form around it. The maw opened wider, and its heart exploded in its chest as the urge to bite down harder than before ramped up to eleven.
Then the world shook wildly as a gentle pat found J-3’s neck, its face, its ribs. Its’ vision swam for a moment before settling again.
Since when did the feeling of someone slapping their palm against its face become so oddly calming?
Since we decided to try and be different than we were before. You are here, we are here. You and me and you. Calm down, please.

Alex and Yue found that when a 10 foot tall, nearly 1,878 pound mass of flesh, bone, and steel flopped, it flopped hard. Jemma came to a rest to the side of Yue with a sigh. Her claws continued to drip venom, and for a moment she deliberated over whether or not she was aware of what sort or type of venom she used.
… Oh well. It didn’t really matter she supposed, nothing a brute like Yue couldn’t handle, of course.

Was Yue a brute? J-3-Jemma couldn’t remember ever asking her. Did it matter? The Scientist could probably do whatever was needed to fix her anyways. It wouldn’t be a big deal.
It didn’t matter.
Alex was okay; that mattered more than anything. Not even the strange stomach-not stomach churning sensation could really deter her. Or the way her gut felt as if someone had dropped a live coal, or filled it with bile and butterflies.
Nope.
Definitely not.
