Sasha's first instinct was to try to counter the flame, but he buried that thought as he leaped to his feet. The figure wasn't familiar but the power was - he recognized it from the beach. Attempting to counter it with fire would lead to a larger explosion that could harm the civilians nearby, or his comrades, and there was no guarantee he would be able to match it anyway.
Instead, Sasha extended his arm like a whip, then flattened it into a wall of stone, creating a barrier against which the fire shattered.
"Well, he seems aggravated," Sasha said. "Any ideas?"
