As the winter boy entered the town, he almost winced at every crack the ice following him made. It covered the streets where he walked and clung to windows and the sides of houses. Even in summer, I'm still haunted by winter, he though mournfully. Why must this be the one ability I cannot control? People drew back away from him as he passed between them, rubbing their arms to stave off his supernatural cold. He could see it in their eyes here as well; curiosity mixed with fear. Kira hoped their fear was not as great. Trielhiem was large boarder city, sustained by its wealth of tourism from the winter lands. They mostly sold blades and equipment for battle for, as all knew, the people of the winter kingdoms were bread for war. Between the chestnut skin and auburn hair of the summer locals, a pale figure could be seen every once in a while. A dot of snow amidst the desert. The hustle and bustle of the town was enlivening to Kira; listening to the noise of the city. But it was short lived. As Kira passed the noise of the city began to die. When Kira found himself in the center of town, he realized the cause of the sudden silence. A man of the winter kingdom, as pale as Kira was, stood in the center of the large crowd. He was facing the young sorcerer, eyes full of the hate that burned into Kira's heart each time he witnessed it.

"Snow walker!" he cried like a curse, pointing at Kira from where he stood. The people around him gasped, stirring up whispers of, "Are the legends true?" and "He's real, and he's come here."

"Was terrorizing the winter lands not enough!? Now you seek to haunt the other kingdoms as well?" the pale man screamed at Kira again, his rage seeming almost boil over. Kira looked down at his feet. "I do not wish any harm to these people," he replied meekly.

"Liar! You cannot fool me Snow Walker! I know the tales of your deeds!" he rebuttled. "You cannot cloud my mind monster!"

His words were like daggers, each one piercing his heart. Why? he asked himself. What have I ever done to deserve this? Kira felt his own anger began to rise. "You do a fine job of clouding your own judgment," he called, his voice steadily rising. "What have I ever done to you people!?" More people began to back away from him and the winter man also took a step back; his look now of fear instead of anger. "I never asked for this!" Kira continued, oblivious to his surroundings. The air seemed to crackle as the temperature dropped around him and ice seemed to cover the town. "Please, stop this!" the pale man cried at him. What is he talking about? he wondered. Then his surroundings finally hit him. The people of the town square had fled, and in their wake were buildings and streets of ice. "No..." Kira cried weakly. "I..I didn't." "You did," the man in front of him challenged. "I never meant to..." Kira stuttered. "Go back to where you came from Snow Walker. Your presence only causes suffering," the pale man accused before turning and taking a side street into the town; leaving Kira alone to his sorrow and his own personal winter.
