So many things that she didn't know, that she would probably never know, because she was not a dekan born of privilege. She could hardly complain, however. Even though they lived in an age where knowledge was power, it wasn't as if her life was the worst. She was no longer alone. She had a friend and a lover, both of them strong, both of them wise. She could learn from them and possibly teach them a few of her own tricks she had used to survive in this world. . .whatever it took. She glanced down at herself, at her skin that really should have been covered in the presence of outsiders. She would have to find a new cowl and veil, the thought making her eyes close in frustration and shame.
