Felicia was bored to tears, salty and grumpy. 'When the hell are we going to get to Corosav? I never remembered it being this far!' she thought as she lazily manned the controls of her ship. Several hours had passed since she had last asked someone for positioning. Mister Ryan's directions seemed way off, a day or so wasn't normally how long it took to get to Corosav from the edge Karona. In fact, after thinking about it, they should have probably been there by now. Felicia's countenance went from bored to annoyed. She was a tolerant captain, as far as pirates go, but that still left only slightly more room for error than usual and misread maps were definitely not in that category of 'forgivable mistakes'. Filled with a new feeling of annoyance, she looked around at her crew and gave a whistle.
"Miss Rembrandt!" Felicia yelled, followed by the perking up of a slim, tan brunette. The girl ran towards the quarterdeck where Felicia manned the wheel and acrobatically leaped onto a piece of dangling rope hanging from the ships' shrouds of its' mizzenmast, climbing up the ropes until she turned to meet her captain's gaze on the quarter deck.
"Yes, cap'n?" the girl touted. She was a young girl, no older than sixteen, with a youthful smile and enthusiasm in her voice. Felicia looked sternly towards the girl, knowing full well her acrobatic skill and ability to get to any inch of the ship within mere moments. The captain stood up straight, cracking her back whilst doing so before speaking.
"Miss Rembrandt, I need you to check up on Mister Briggs up in the Crow's nest immediately. I need to know if he sees land at all and when we down here will be seeing it. I'll be timing you, as always, now go!" she said, the stern tone of voice matching her gaze.
"Right away, cap'n!" chirped Rembrandt, turning towards the mainmasts' shrouds.
With that, she leaped from the shrouds of the mizzenmast to the shrouds of mainmast, executing a front flip in mid-jump. She then climbed the shrouds like a spider monkey, reaching the crow's nest within a short minute. After conversing with the elderly Mr. Briggs, a thin man with a greying head of hair and eyes that could spot a crab from two-hundred miles away, she nodded and tossed herself off the crow's nest and back towards the mizzenmast. Falling headfirst towards the ship's deck, she carefully eyed where it would be a good place to latch onto the shroud of the mast nearest the captain and when she finally found it she didn't hesitate to grab it. Though the momentum had gotten the best of her and Rembrandt's grip on the rope was a momentary one as the force of the fall compromised her grip and she continued to fall. Realizing her mistake, she quickly attempted to latch onto the shroud again using her legs and after grapevining them within the shroud, she stopped falling and was within perfect sight of her captain. Albeit, upside-down.
Felicia put on one of her famous grins of interest as she watched her young crewmate execute an incredible feat of acrobatic accomplishment.
"Guess all that time in the circus as a kid really was a help, eh miss Rembrandt?" she said, smugly, folding her arms underneath her bosom. Rembrandt simply held a nervous smile and wiped the sweat off her forehead at Captain Felicia's words.
"So, how'd I do cap'n?" She asked, looking towards Captain Felicia with eager eyes.
"Not bad, kid. A minute and a half, a new record for that sort of distance." Felicia said with pride, Rembrandt was only fourteen when she had joined the Iron Skulls, coming from an acrobatics act in the circus. Rembrandt's countenance became one of pure ecstasy as she was told she had made a new record, but this didn't stop Felicia from going back to business.
"So, what's the deal miss Rembrandt? How far are we?" Felicia asked, her smug tone of voice still apparent from the previous conversation.
"Oh! Uhh, mister Briggs told me we should be seeing Corosav in the distance right about-"
"Now. I see it it, miss Rembrandt. You're dismissed." Felicia said simply, to which the young girl nodded. With that, the girl known as Miss Rembrandt simply dropped from the shroud and did another midair flip, allowing her to land securely on her feet when hitting the deck and hustle back to her post.
"Land ho, you bilge rats!" Felicia yelled and extended her right arm forward ending in a pointed finger and resting her left hand on her hip, striking an overly-dramatic pose. "Corosav, dead ahead! Prepare the tradestuffs and give the Spear full speed!" she commanded, to which her crew began to shuffle about hastily. Every single one of them knew their jobs by heart and executing it was never a problem, the crew worked as one under Felicia's leadership. She had all given them jobs when they had joined up and made sure each and every one of them knew that job within a week, or they were thrown overboard. Soon though, they'd be in Corosav and Felicia would finally be out of this salty, stinky sea.
