Kai turned to Hitomi. "Did you bring your things," he asked.
"Why the hell would I need a satchel for," she said to Kai, raising her voice.
"Easy, easy. I was just asking!" Kai looked around the classroom for a nice person to give him something to do his work with. Everyone was either too into their work or just didn't have any extra supplies to spare. Everyone nearby him at least. Kai shrugged and put his feet up on his desk and leaned back. Hitomi glared at Kai and he smiled back. Hitomi jumped up from her seat.
"Anyone here got supplies this idiot can have so that he can do his work?" Kai pushed back too far and fell out of his seat from the surprise of Hitomi acting out like that. The teacher turned her attention to Kai--who was now on the floor.
"Kitsune, is there a problem here," she said with a condescending undertone.
"Nooo. . ." Kai said trailing off.
"Then take your shades off and get to work." Kai got back up and sat at his desk, back at square one: supply-less and bored.
