"Hey! Get up!" I heard someone yell in the house next to mine. I looked out the window next to my bed and saw the sun hadn't even risen yet. I was tired, neighbors were noisy, and I was living a total lie. I slowly got out of bed and slipped on my light blue dress before going to town to get groceries.
"Miss! Is your family back yet?" The old woman neighbor asked me.
"No Lady Marvin, I do not expect them back for quite some time." I lied as I walked into the city.
I flinched when the images flashed into my mind. Me, walking into a small town, and running back when I saw the flames of the burning inn we were staying at. Everyone smiled when they saw me and said I should be proud of my loss. My older brother saved his wife and child but was caught under a fallen beam. My mother and father never came out and my baby sister died in her crib. I was 14 at the time and understood well enough to know I was now an orphan. But I didn't want to be adopted or taken in by family. So I ran away and never told anyone. I don't need anyone anyway. I though as the market came into view. Soon enough, the hustle and bustle of town sucked me in.
