Everything. Everything seemed to be going so god damn well. Marching through with all possibly haste, the General had hoped to pass through the most dangerous parts of the Akaldai pass and rest and the moments where it was relatively easy to defend. He had mis underestimated the ingenuity of his enemies. Simply put, he was not prepared for the fact that they had already prepared so thoroughly in the Akaldai Pass. Even going through Orcish Territory would have been a better option. As the enemy burst out of the walls, the confusion and storming disrupting everything and knocking out a good deal of his forces, Fong paused, observing the attack with what appeared to be utmost calm. He gestured to the captains, relieving them of their duty. "Protect your queen. If I fall, we will still need a leader." The General said coldly, without turning around. "The Dark Elves may do as they please in this situation." Taking a deep breath, the air cleared as the Commanding voice of the General rebounded off the stormy walls of the Akaldai Pass.

"Rally! Rally around the Caravans! Do as planned! Archers! Fire en masse against the Harpies! Mages! Retaliate!" He bellowed, his deep voice gaining strength as the Wind General removed the obstructing air barring his voice from reaching ally ears. "Bear Riders! Defend the left flank!

Fong was the youngest General of all the Civil Armies. There had to be a reason, and that was because of his military genius and his ability to fight with his men. He lacked charisma, emotion, empathy, which did not gain favor with his troops, but often the General made up for it with his power, his commitment, his cold devotion and calm demeanor to rally his men and lead them to a swift victory.

The troops massed into shield bubbles, those who didn't fought the surrounding ambush troops. Fong's knights, armored to the teeth were too heavy for the Harpies to lift, and held their own against the minotaurs. His communications, a system of either colored flags (for day) or colored lanturns (by night) were raised, relaying the General's commands if the voice didn't reach them. Of course, that made them prime targets, so they hid within the safety of the shield bubbles as they relayed commands from local officers.

"Bulb!!" Shouted Fong. The top of the shield bubbles lifted, then closed again as Harpies unwittingly loosed their arrows thinking they were about to fire back. It was a psych-out, and it worked. "Garde!!" The shield bubbles opened once more, like a flower and loosing hundreds of arrows into the sky. The harpies were caught off guard, and a good number fell from the skies as they were butchered by the mass of arrows. Now it was the General's turn. As the arrows reached the height of the shot, Fong closed his eyes.

A true General is able to protect his men. At all costs.

The storm wind picked up viciously, curling around the Wind General, protected by his knights and mages. He easily picked up the mass of arrows, and flung them at the mages without breaking a sweat. His Mages had already threw up bright flares of light that illuminated the battlefield. His men were doing the best they can, which was all Fong really asked. Any loss was the General's failure. He would not accept that. He would rather be lashed one hundred times than admit tactical defeat in something that was of his profession. The shield bubbles were holding, the pikemen jabbing through the holes in the shield overlap and forming a near impenetrable barrier. His mages combated the enemy druids up above, engaging in a display of fireworks that was just as lethal as it was beautiful. His knights beat back the enemy ambush troops, as well as some beserkers he had employed as captains. For the moment, things were holding. Then he saw the Lamian, tearing through his men with nothing but a dagger and his body. He had heard of him from the reports of the dark elves. the leader of the armies, dressed so elaborately with flaming red hair. Shokunen, the Lamian Prince.

His men had understood the dangers of the Lamia, giving the Prince a wide berth. Fong leapt into his range, his eyes blazing with a cold contempt many saw. "Shokunen." He greeted, sending a gust of wind around as Fong drew his wicked curved swords- the Tiger Hooks. The blast of wind rebounded around Fong, then was blasted at the Lamian Prince.

Mercy sat at the top of the pass, watching the druids dropped powerful magic attacks against the Civil troops below. She was intrigued at the battle, watching rather than being on the front lines herself as Shokunen was doing. She had received her pay from the Lamian Prince that night, and had not been requested to fight. Therefore, she merely stuck around and watched as Harpies began to drop like flies from the sky. Giggling, she watched as the wind seemed to turn in favor of the Civil and blew a mass of arrows at the mages on the edge of the pass. Turning around, she raised her abdomen and absorbed the arrow impacts, making a lewd expression that caused the bugler that stood near her to blush heavily and move away.

She sat, waiting, watching. A spider's best asset is not the web, but the patience. In the night, her armor was dull and barely visible, which was why she was hired many times for assassinations. Slowly, she crept to a far side of the battle, peering over the edge as she observed the battle excitedly. The Wind General was doing well, for a young man. Good looking, too. It's just that disgusting expression he wears all the time, like he's never laughed his entire life.
