Emily pulled her knees to her chest as she hid behind the dumpster. Life on the run often led her to places like this. Em was pacing impatiently in her mind.

"Check the news on your mobile. Now" Em barked loudly to Emily. Emily almost jumped out of surprise by her impatience, but it wasn't unlike Em to order her around.

"Fine, but you could ask nicely." Emily said out loud to Em. Em just scowled and Emily recoiled before pulling out her mobile. She opened the newsfeed and looked up the bounty hunters wanted section. The section was arranged from highest to lowest bounty price. Emily sighed as she read her own name. Her bounty had gone up again, she was almost the highest priced uncaught convict right now. It troubled her. She felt guilty every moment for Em's wickedness. Em read along as she looked to her profile.

"Great, now well have some actual professionals on our backs. You, Emily, are too much of a wimp to handle that. You'll need to give me a little more control." Em really could convince Emily to do anything, even though Emily could control her more now.

"Fine, but you should remember you are the one who got us into this mess not me." Emily replied, scared to put any attitude behind the words. Em was very abusive of Emily, but just enough to scare her into submission. Emily looked down and continued to read her own info. She read this: Skilled with knives and guns, highly violent, and criminally insane.

"Hey! That's only true of me, except the insane part. I mean, I am criminal, but I couldn't be crazy!" Em seemed infuriated by the assumption. Emily didn't respond. Honestly, anyone observing Emily would just thing she was an insane murderer who was talking to herself. They didn't understand that she shared her mind and body.

"can we just look for something to eat, I'm starved!" Emily asked Em meekly. Em thought for a second before answering.

"Fine, but we must be careful. Remember, skilled bounty hunters! And our face is everywhere. Put your hood up and look down." Em answered, firmly. Emily nodded before pulling her hood up and coming out from behind the dumpster. Emily felt incompetent with Em's guidance, which was part of Em's way to control her. They made their way through the empty street towards the soup kitchen. Emily walked in, not meeting any gazes. She fit in here, really. She was dirty faced, and her clothes were ragged. She was scrawny from malnutrition.

Emily walked to the server and picked up her bowl of tomato soup. She sat in the corner and began to eat it slowly and carefully. She needed to savor every swallow, because she never knew when she would get a good meal again.
