Gakupo continued to run the brush through his hair, keeping his eyes closed with a relaxed expression. "Yes, all of these items are from the Meiji period, ranging from year 1868 to 1912." He opened his eyes slowly, exhaling softly, and he placed the brush back on the table beside him.

"That scar... I suppose it does make you seem, shall I say... durable, not in the sense of it being a negative thing. I wonder, if I am the only one here who was not... er... 'designed'. I once existed as a human, but I was rebuilt as an android." His eyes glided in Al's direction as a piece of hair was brushed out of his face. "Yes, well... last night, you see..."

Gakupo stopped for a moment, pondering whether he should speak up about the happenings of the previous night. "I was visiting with a friend of mine, Kagamine Rena. I wanted to see how she was doing, since her occupation that is other than singing as a Vocaloid is rather dangerous, in a sense. She is a prostitute, you could say. She is currently renting a hotel room across from the apartments. When I arrived there, however, was a very bad time, for there was already another man there with her, so I waited down the hall for him to leave." Gakupo paused for a few seconds. "He knew I was there, so he went over to me, and he asked me to follow him into the room. When I said no, he... stabbed me in the eye." Gakupo adjusted the bandage.

"I suppose then, since I did not have a strong reaction, as I am very stoic to pain, he wanted to test how pain-tolerant I really was, so he..." Gakupo paused again, averting his eyes to the ground, remembering the vile and disgusting act that occurred after that. "...I cannot explain in words, so I hope for you to understand this. He did the same thing to me that he did to Rena." Gakupo shivered.
