This large orphanage located in the woods in Japan looks reasonably eerie at first glance. One will want to shrug it off, telling themself that they must be silly for thinking there's anything wrong with it. After all, the stories of things that lurk in the night are just thatβ€”stories, correct? The unsettling feeling, though, is enough to drive even the toughest of the tough away, leaving the inhabitants of the orphanage completely unbothered at nighttime. During the day, business is conducted as usualβ€”those who wish to adopt arrive from 10am to 8pm, when the sun goes down. They meet with those who are otherwise deemed unwantedβ€”those with physical impairments (like missing limbs, blindness, and other things such as that), though some are relatively normal... for now. After the sun sets, though, the doors are closed to the public. From 8pm to 6am, what happens is... a secret.

The sick truth is that this orphanage is no ordinary orphanage. A group of four scientists have taken over the orphanage (given permission, of course, by the absolute higher-ups of the orphanage) to perform experiments on the orphans. After all, being orphans, they don't have much to lose, right? The experiments have one goal only, and that is to test out the limits of mortalityβ€”or, more accurately, immortality. The head scientist had been doing research for a while regarding the brain, and he began to wonder if mortality could be taken away, and an immortal being could be created. After experimentation on convicted criminals, they were all failures, but the scientist realized something then. Since the brains of children from birth to their teens are undeveloped, could the "killswitch" be removed from them? And so, he set out with a group of others to find a suitable place to experiment on orphansβ€”which is where he found the Kagome Orphanage. The spot is perfect, since it's far enough away from civilization that they'll be out of the eyes of the government, and they won't get too many visitors (though they still do get a select few).

Now, the orphanage operates as a laboratory where the scientists do as they please to perform these "killswitch-ectomies" on the children of the orphanage. These experiments leave the children with injuries that they cannot heal from, as their bodies have been immortalized, and wounds made during the surgery will stay with them for the rest of their eternal lives. These injuries are very noticeable, ranging from a missing lower jaw, to a missing arm, to a damaged eye. The willing adopters are informed that the children all were harmed in an accident, despite that being farthest from the truth. Some children were deemed failures, as they either went comatose and never woke up from the "killswitch-ectomy", or they just died. Those who were considered failures were beheaded and buried out in the front, near the trees that resemble kneeling, headless figures.

Since their failures, strange things have been happening to the scientists.

Image
The current children have been claiming to see presumed 'dead' children around the orphanage, and some of the scientists could swear they they're being followed by those same dead children. In addition to that, the caregivers (that were over 18 and under 22, and thus eligible for "killswitch-ectomies") seem a bit off, as well. To top it off, the children have been playing a rather strange game that they call "Kagome, Kagome" which roughtly translates to "Circle You, Circle You" in Japanese. The game seems to be centered around a child in the middle. The other children will join hands around them and sway in a circle and walk, chanting "Kagome, Kagome, Kagome, Kagome." While they do this, they make scarier and scarier faces as they lunge forward, until the child flinches. Then, it is presumed they lose. They seem to be practicing for something... perhaps they'd like to play with the scientists, though at a price?

When a scientist will pass by, the children will jerk their heads toward them and smile, head canted at an odd angle, and keep the position until the scientist passes by. This is only a portion of the strange things that have been happening with these immortal children. It just keeps getting stranger...

Enter, if you dare.

Toggle Rules

  1. No godmodding. You should know not to do this.
  2. Submit well thought out characters. Characters that aren't will be denied.
  3. Write at least a paragraph each post. I'm not really picky but at least shoot for this.
  4. Character sheets should include information listed. I will be listing the needed character information in the '[AGKK] Character Sheet Info' OOC forum topic. If you can't wait until I get that up, you could look at Michio's character sheet and you should get the general idea (for the children, that is).
  5. I have a vision for this. By reserving roles you adhere to complying with my plans. That being said, my plans aren't too strenuous. The scientists are not good people, as they experiment on children just in the name of science (likely without much anesthetic). The scientist's assistants I will be lenient with, but at least one is aware of how morally wrong the whole thing is, but since they don't have much authority being just an assistant, they can't do much. The caregivers are genuinely good people (they should hate the scientists & treat all children as their own children; additionally, the caregivers will eventually be experimented on as well, so you can choose to either have your character start out without a killswitch or get it removed later). 'Dead' Children are deemed failures of the killswitch-ectomies, and they are essentially tangible ghosts (them being a 'failure' did not make them immortal, but also did not make it easy for them to be killed completely; additionally, they are the ones who decide that the children should retaliate and play Kagome Kagome). The rest of the children are fair game, you can be either unexperimented on or experimented on, but make sure if you're unexperimented on that you realize eventually that will change.
  6. Ages are important. Scientists are fair game as far as ages go, as long as they're older than maybe 25. Children should be 17 & under. Scientist assistants & caregivers should be 18 to 22, since that age is when your brain is still not completely developed, and killswitch-ectomies would be possible on those deemed 'adults'.
  7. Please read ALL OOC topics for this RP! It's very important!
  8. Have fun! This is the most important rule. I know I will. ;)
