Personality:
Dúlinnor often comes across as being..stuck up or over-confident to those that are not Elves. Almost as if he thinks that he knows more than everyone else in the world. Once getting to know Dúlinnor, he's viewed as a gentle soul who would do anything for those he holds dearest. It is rare to see him angry or bothered, usually keeping a cool facade in front of others. It takes a great deal to stress Dúlinnor out. Typically, he is always kind to those he meets unless he sees them as a threat or has been wronged by that being.

History:
Dúlinnor was born into a fairly average Elvish family. He was the second born, the youngest of the two boys. Dúlinnor grew to be very close with his brother and by the time the two were of age, they were inseparable. As the boys slowly grew, so did their parents' favoring towards the older boy. No matter what Dúlinnor did, he was never as good as his brother. However, he still adored his older brother. They ended up joining the Wardens together. It was here that Dúlinnor realized that he was actually better than his brother at something. Archery. While his brother was much more skilled in the way of the sword, Dúlinnor was more skilled with a bow. Though, their parents refused to see this. Currently, they are on a five month patrol that will be ending very soon. Dúlinnor is looking to having a short break before having to head back out.

So begins...

He simply watched the Human girl as she slowly moved closer to him, taking a seat and pulling it close to the bed. A tear suddenly feel from one of her eyes. This caused the Elf to tilt his head only slightly. "I thought I'd lost you...I thought I'd killed you, I..." Reinette managed to get out. Dúlinnor did not understand why she thought that she'd killed him. It made no sense to him. However, he said nothing of this at the moment. He felt that he needed to allow Reinette to speak as she wished, at least for a short while.

She gently took hold of his free hand and she could not contain a small sob that escaped. He gently squeezed her hand, almost as if that would help her. To let her know that he was fine and everything would work out. A short moment later a smile formed on Reinette's face causing the Elf to smile as well. She moved closer, yet again. "I was afraid," She started, pausing to hold his gaze. "I...I'm happy though. I'm happy you're awake... You have no idea how glad I am to see you." She said, squeezing his hand. "I am glad to bring you such happiness." He said softly, watching as the woman stood from her seat. She moved close to him, placing a kiss onto his cheek.

He was happy to receive the kiss. He smiled at her as she remained close to him. He allowed his grey eyes to hold her own golden ones. Dúlinnor, at the moment, wished to ask her why she'd even been out in the forest though he held back. He did not wish to cause the girl any more distress. He could see that she'd worried for him greatly and for this he felt horrible. Yes..he would ask her later..perhaps once he was allowed to return to his flet.

Suddenly, the Elf took his hand from Reinette and placed in on the bed, lifting himself slightly so that he could move a bit. By doing so, there was a space beside him on the bed. He then took Reinette's hand again and pulled her down to him so that she was sitting next to him. He regarded her, taking in the slow fading bruising that was still upon her face. "You have not been taking care of yourself." He chastised gently as his eyes scanned over the rest of her.

He removed his hand from hers once again, this time gently taking hold of Reinette's chin and turned her face so that he could hold her gaze better. He found himself wanting nothing more than to hold her to him, to kiss her as he'd done before he'd left the year before for the Borders. Gently, he pulled her face closer to his. He did not care that they were in public. He'd missed her terribly. He kept a small space between their lips, his gaze turning suddenly serious. "I would not have you thinking that my current state is at all your fault. I acted on my own, knowing the repercussions that would follow. Even if I had known that the weapon was poisoned, I would have taken the arrow for you. I have been a Warden for a long time, Reinette. That was not the first injury I have sustained..nor will it be the last I imagine."

Dúlinnor paused, allowing his gaze slowly drift to the young woman's lips and then back to her beautiful eyes. "I would gladly take a thousand arrows for you." He meant his words. After waiting a moment, Dúlinnor finally closed the distance between them. He captured her lips in a soft and gentle kiss. The feeling he got as they were connected was as if he was complete. He could not recall ever having felt so before. It was as if Reinette was meant to be in his life.

After a short moment, Dúlinnor lifted his good hand from her chin and allowed it to rest on the back of her neck. He was not forceful though allowed her to end the kiss if she wished it. He wanted nothing more than to hold her though he could not. However, he attempted to make up for it by pouring himself into the kiss. He wanted her to feel how much he truly cared for her..how worried he'd been at seeing her so beaten by the Orcs, and how glad he was to be back with her..even if he'd very nearly died.

When the kiss ended, Dúlinnor smiled at the woman, his free hand sliding to gently cup her face. He would have been happy to remain that way for eternity. However, he knew that was not possible. A few moments passed when there was suddenly a soft knock upon the door and a Healer entered. Dúlinnor released Reinette as the Elf made the way to them. "Are you feeling any pain?" He asked. Dúlinnor shook his head in answer. "I believe that until the poison has completely worked its way out of your system your wound will continue to heal slowly. The pain will remain until this begins to pass I believe. However, you may continue to take the elixir for it. It seems to be helping. As for being discharged, you seem to be fine as long as the pain is kept at bay. It is my belief that you may leave as early as tomorrow so long as nothing comes up. However, you will need to have someone with you while you are still recovering. Your dressings still need changed a minimum of three times a day, with the two different medicines applied. When you do leave, it would be best if you remain resting until you no longer have pain. We will be checking in on you throughout the remainder of the day just to make sure that you are still doing well. The poison will linger for some time though for how long we are unsure. Which, is why it is best to rest as much as possible until we know for sure."

Dúlinnor relayed to Reinette what had been said after the Elf had left them alone once again. "Where ever shall I find someone willing to spend an undetermined amount of time with me until I am completely well again?" He was smiling at the woman as he watched her. "I do hope that I am allowed to leave tomorrow. I am just ready to be home."

Reinette noted the slight squeaking sound that the bed made as Dúlinnor shifted positions, opening up a space just big enough for her frame to fit next to his own. He gently pulled her down to sit next to him on the bed, and she gladly moved to join him. Once she was situated, he spoke again.

"You have not been taking care of yourself."

She had to look away from him then, down at her hands that were gathered in her lap, Dúlinnor's free hand holding onto one of her own. She had noticed that she had lost some weight, which was worrisome in the fact that she didn't weigh much to begin with. She was sure that now that the whole ordeal was over with, she'd gain it back and be back to feeling the way she always did. Worry and stress tended to do that to a person, in combination with the fact that she'd been relatively forgetful about eating, easily losing track of the hours and days that had gone by. If Thurilostel hadn't been so insistent, Reinette might have passed out from lack of nutrition. She also knew that the bruise was just on the verge of disappearing, and within a couple of days it would be gone entirely, the memory being the only remnant of the attack.

He'd slipped his hand out of hers, instead taking hold of her chin and smoothly and gently turning her head so that she was facing him. He'd leaned into her, and she could feel the anticipation of the kiss coil up in her stomach, a fire spreading through her very being at the suspense. But instead of kissing her right away, he spoke. "I would not have you thinking that my current state is at all your fault. I acted on my own, knowing the repercussions that would follow. Even if I had known that the weapon was poisoned, I would have taken the arrow for you. I have been a Warden for a long time, Reinette. That was not the first injury I have sustained... nor will it be the last I imagine."

Reinette tried her hardest to fully comprehend everything that Dúlinnor was saying to her, but was really only able to for about half of it. His lips were just too close, and half of her mind was concentrating on that lone fact. She knew that he had been around for thousands of years longer than she had, and probably had seen his fair share of injuries. She just couldn't help but worry about him, though.

He continued to speak once more, her eyes locked onto his. "I would gladly take a thousand arrows for you."

She felt her heart skip a beat. He'd get hurt for her? Protect her life from sharp pointy objects flying through the air? Not that she really wanted him to - she wanted him all in one piece, with only the holes that he had been born with - but the gesture was romantic. She blushed, but he was soon closing the distance between their lips, capturing her mouth in a kiss.

It was well worth the wait.

His hand moved from her chin to the back of her neck, and one of her own moved lightly to rest on his chest. She could feel his emotions in the kiss - how much he'd missed her and how glad he was to have her back - and she tried to push forth her own as well. She'd missed him terribly, had wanted nothing more than to just have him with her, safe. And all of it just felt right. Everything about the way their mouths joined had her heart trying to flutter right out of her chest.

Eventually, they pulled away from each other, Reinette momentarily trying to catch her breath. She had forgotten that she needed to breathe to live, and had neglected to try to 'come back up' for air. Her eyes were alight with a glow again, one that they hadn't held in a long while. She leaned her face more into Dúlinnor's touch, but pulled back quickly when she heard a knock on the door.

Face immediately red at the prospect of being caught lip locked with the Warden, she tried willing herself to disappear into the bed. For the most part, the Healer seemed to be ignoring her, and she wondered if it had really worked... though she knew that it hadn't, and she was just being rather imaginative.

The Healer spoke briefly to Dúlinnor, before disappearing from the room. She turned an expectant eye on him, knowing that he wouldn't leave her in the dark, for many of the words spoken she had missed or didn't know what they meant. He explained what the Healer said, before speaking after a pause. "Where ever shall I find someone willing to spend an undetermined amount of time with me until I am completely well again?"

She could hear the sarcasm in his voice, and she rolled her eyes, a happy smile on her face as she laughed. Even though she knew he was joking around, she answered him anyway. "You know that I'm the one hired for that job, right? Plus, I've already assisted changing your bandages, so I'm more qualified for this than anyone else." She crossed her arms across her chest playfully, before laughing again.

"I do hope that I am allowed to leave tomorrow. I am just ready to be home." Reinette nodded in agreement. She was looking forward to getting Dúlinnor back to his flet, and getting back to sleeping in a comfortable bed.

...Which just left tonight. She'd been spending most of her nights in his room, watching over him before he'd woken from his coma-like sleep. Now that he was awake, she wasn't planning on leaving his room to sleep anywhere else anytime soon. And any protesting that he had on the subject would be met with protesting of her own.

She'd lay herself back again the pillow support that Dúlinnor was also leaning against, sighing. Even so, there was a bright smile on her face. "I'm glad you're home...," she began, turning her head to look at the male. Even with the passage of time, she didn't feel like he had aged a bit. And yet, she had celebrated another birthday - 24 years... She couldn't believe two birthday's had come and gone. And he was still as handsome as he was the first day they had met. When she had woken up on the forest floor.

She believed that she was a much different person, then. Things had definitely changed, mostly for the better. Mostly.

She kissed him lightly then, pulling away before smiling at him. "I've waited over a year for these," she said, in reference to the kisses. "And each and every one of them was worth it..."

Reinette moved to lean against the pillows that were behind them. She sighed, causing the Elf to glance to her. She seemed to be in a good mood and Dúlinnor was glad to see her happy. "I'm glad you're home...," The young girl said, turning to look at him. He allowed himself to watch her calmly. He was well aware that he'd missed Reinette's birthday...again. He felt terrible about it though he suspected that she did not hold it against him. Still, it did not make it any easier. As he gazed at her, he could easily see the small, nearly unnoticeable signs of her aging. It only served to remind him that she was Mortal and in only a short time her life would be over. A pain suddenly went through his heart at the thought of her dying. He was unsure of how he would be able to deal with such a thing.

Suddenly, he felt Reinette's lips on his own. He returned her kiss, his focus moving away from the dark thoughts that had been going through his mind previously. He returned her smile as she began to speak. "I've waited over a year for these and each and every one of them was worth it..." Her words made him happy and he only continued to smile at her. "I am glad to have not disappointed you." He said softly.

The Elf suddenly allowed himself to lean gently against the Mortal girl, allowing his head to rest on her shoulder. He was still exhausted and it was fairly easy to see. He took comfort in her closeness. "I am most glad that you are here with me. I cannot think of another that I would rather have by my side." His voice had gone a bit quieter as he'd allowed his eyes to slide shut. As the poison still ran through his body, he was still unable to keep his eyes open as he attempted to rest. It was odd for him, to not keep his eyes open. He only hoped that soon enough he would be back to normal. He drifted off to a light sleep.

Dúlinnor was asleep for a good portion of the day. The Healers came in several times checking over the Warden. They did not bother him, deeming it better to allow him to rest up as it would be the easiest way to get the poison to slowly work its way out of his system. Around the time that most of the Elves would be sitting down for the evening meal Dúlinnor finally awoke again. Though he was at least doing much better than he had the previous two months it was clear that the poison was still trying to do its job.

He slowly moved, sitting up. The first thing he noted was that he had pain in his shoulder. It was throbbing, nearly distracting him. However, he attempted to ignore it and turned his gaze to Reinette. He offered her small smile, trying to hide the pain that he was in. "You could have woken me up." He said. He felt bad about having falling asleep on her. A moment later a Healer entered the room, making the way over to Dúlinnor. They went about their work as usual. The sling that Dúlinnor's left arm was in was slowly removed. Then, the dark haired Elf's tunic was opened and then the Healer set about taking care of the wound.

Dúlinnor tried to keep his face composed, even as shooting pain ripped through his shoulder. Though the Healers were always gentle, it did not help. "After I am done I will fetch you some more elixir." Dúlinnor said nothing, simply trying to block out the pain. A few moments later and the Elf was finished with their work. Dúlinnor's tunic was readjusted and the sling placed back where it had been. The male Elf allowed himself to simply rest against the pillows.

He was silent, not trusting himself to speak at the moment. The Healer had returned quickly, a small glass in her hands. Behind her had followed another Elf, carrying a tray of food and drink for both Dúlinnor and Reinette. The tray was sat down upon the chair that Reinette had been in earlier. The Elf bowed to the young Mortal before leaving. The Healer gave the elixir to Dúlinnor, asking him to drink it. The male Elf did so, quickly downing the cool liquid.

The Healer took the empty glass and then left the pair alone to eat. Immediately, Dúlinnor could feel the pain in his shoulder trying to fade. This, he was glad of. His body seemed to finally relax once again. He turned his gaze to Reinette, knowing that she was likely ready to eat. She would have to serve them though he suspected that she already knew that. He waited patiently for her to do so and soon enough they were eating.

While he'd been out, the Healers had made sure that Dúlinnor had still received nourishment. This would be his first real meal since he'd been injured. He spoke with Reinette as they ate. The Elf ate slower than normal, finding that he did not care for not being able to use his left arm. After he'd finally finished, Reinette as well, Dúlinnor spoke. "You should return to the flet and get some rest. I would not wish it upon anyone to sleep here unless they had to." He turned his gaze to her, eyeing her.

He did not truly want her to leave though he also wanted her to be comfortable. Dúlinnor tilted his head slightly as he waited for her to speak. He would not easily allow her to stay. He'd caused her enough pain and he did not intend to that night. "You will do no such thing. Go home, Reinette. I will be here in the morning." He paused again, allowing her to speak once again. Only once she was done did he continue. "Tell me...why are you so insistent to remain here?" He asked her after she'd spoken. He didn't feel like arguing with her. He sighed heavily before finally giving in. "Do as you wish. Though I will not hear it if you cannot move in the morning." He paused, waiting a moment before he continued. "You will sleep up here. I will hear nothing else." He had to admit that he was glad that she was insistent to remain with him. He gently leaned over to her, placing a lingering kiss upon her cheek and then her lower jaw.

He allowed his face to remain close to hers, allowing himself to breathe in her scent. "I am most glad that you are still here..." He said quietly, placing another soft kiss to her skin, this time at the edge of her mouth. "I feared that Galadriel would have found a way for you to return to your world before I was able to make it back to you.." He said honestly. It had been something that he'd feared the entire time he'd been gone. Even Aglaron had known of his fear though had not understood it.

"I am glad to have not disappointed you."

Reinette smiled at his words. He could never disappoint her. She was falling faster and harder for this Elven man than she ever thought possible. Every look he gave her was like a small bolt of static electricity running through her core. She'd never expected to fall for an Elf when she had lived on Earth - that was all just fantasy, just creative imagination, because Elves weren't real. But Dúlinnor was very real, very very much real.

She felt his body rest against her, his head taking refuge on her shoulder. "I am most glad that you are here with me. I cannot think of another that I would rather have by my side." She looked over at him, a hint of pink on her cheeks, but a bright smile growing on her face all the same. But just like that, he was out like a light, and Reinette couldn't help but chuckle. She didn't want to move for fear of waking him, and she knew that he needed to rest in order to help get better.

Eventually, a Healer made his way into the room to check on them. She spoke to him in broken Sindarin, asking the healer to pass her one of the books and her journal and quill. She had bought herself another one, but had dedicated this journal as a "practice" book for her words, writing down ones she was unfamiliar with and translating them as best as they could possibly be translated. With a small nod, he did as was asked, checking on Dúlinnor after.

Reinette spent the majority of the day just sitting next to Dúlinnor, studying Sindarin. She practiced a few sentences, muttering them to herself, before scratching out mistakes and rewriting things she wasn't happy with. In all honesty, she had been so engrossed in her work that she hadn't really noticed how long she had been sitting like that for.

Reinette eventually felt the bed beside her shift, her eyes tearing away from a particularly difficult sentence to lock onto Dúlinnor. She folded her two books shut, tucking her quill into one of them and placing them next to her on one of the nearby night tables. He had sat up, clearly in some sort of pain. Her heart went out to him then, as he tried to smile through it and pretend like it didn't hurt. "You could have woken me up." She shook her head, shifting slightly to stretch her muscles that had been in the same position for some unknown passage of time.

"No, you were sleeping, and you need your rest to get better." A Healer entered then, making her way to Dúlinnor. She removed his sling, before working on his wound, cleaning it and re-bandaging it. Finally, his sling was put back on. Reinette watched, slightly worried at the look of pain in his eyes. All she wanted was to take at least half of it away from him, shoulder some of the pain herself. But she knew it was impossible, so instead, she squeezed his free hand reassuringly instead.

Soon, the Healer returned with one other in tow. Food was presented for the both of them, Reinette making her way to it to prepare it for both herself and Dúlinnor. Eventually, the two Healers left, and Reinette turned, climbing back into the bed next to Dúlinnor, making sure not to disturb his shoulder.

She handed him off his plate for food and drink, noting that he seemed uncomfortable eating without the use of both arms and hands. They ate, small conversations popping up as they laughed about Reinette's random adventures while Dúlinnor had been gone. She showed him her journal of Sindarin words, skipping over the section in the front of the book where she'd written down the multiple insults she'd figured out - she figured it wasn't very 'lady like', but she was actually most proud of that section.

Finally, the pair had both finished eat, Dúlinnor speaking as he finished. "You should return to the flet and get some rest. I would not wish it upon anyone to sleep here unless they had to."

She'd already decided that she wasn't leaving him that night, and gave him a rather indignant look at his words. "No, I'm staying tonight. You didn't just wake for me to leave you..."

But he insisted that she leave, and she crossed her arms across her chest at his words. "You will do no such thing. Go home, Reinette. I will be here in the morning." She didn't mean to sound so childish in her next sentence, but she just didn't want to leave.

"The only way I'm going anywhere is if you physically get out of bed and drag me there, kicking the whole way. I will do as I please, and I want to stay here. With you." She pouted at him slightly, hoping that he understood that she wasn't trying to be disrespctful or rude - just that she wasn't going to take no for an answer and that she was going to do whatever she wanted anyway, even if he said the opposite.

"Tell me... why are you so insistent to remain here?"

"Because." She stuck her tongue out slightly, before grinning. She wasn't about to give him a straightforward answer, instead choosing to be a bit playful. He sighed, resting against the pillows, deflated and defeated.

"Do as you wish. Though I will not hear it if you cannot move in the morning." Reinette had stood from the bed, turning to give him a playful smile as she tucked her books back in with her things. She moved toward the bed again as she answered him.

"The Warden doth protest too much, methinks..." She said, laughing at her re-use of the quote from Hamlet. It was hilarious to her, though Dúlinnor would have never heard it before and thus she would just be laughing to herself. She climbed back in the bed next to him, turning to watch him as he spoke.

"You will sleep up here. I will hear nothing else." She nodded, a small blush spreading across the expanse of her cheeks and the bridge of her nose. She tried to push away the thoughts that they'd be sharing a bed together that night, but they just kept floating around in her head. He was leaning over then, lightly kissing her cheek and then her jaw. She felt herself shudder happily at the feeling, a warmth running through her.

Dúlinnor kept his face near to hers, and she searched his eyes as he spoke, looking for any hidden words or intents. "I am most glad you are still here. I feared that Galadriel would ahve found a way for you to return to your world before I was able to make it back to you..." He'd placed a small kiss at the corner of her mouth, and she'd leaned into it as he pulled away, hoping for more.

She opened her eyes once more, looking back into his own. "I'm glad I'm still here, too." She didn't say anything about returning to her home, because the word was beginning to confuse her. She was losing faith that there even was a way home, and slowly but surely, the word home was beginning to mean something different to her: wherever Dúlinnor was, that was home.

So many things were confusing her. She lay her head down against the pile of pillows, sighing as she did so. She'd never expected to fall in love with Dúlinnor...

'Love...' she thought to herself, turning her head to look at the male beside her. Everything about him was amazing, was perfect. He was the most absolutely gorgeous thing she had lain eyes on her whole life. He was a kind spirit, and he was dedicated and... well, just perfect. But the word 'love' scared her. How did someone feel that way about someone so quickly? To her, it felt quick, anyway. She'd never felt this way about anyone before, and she still didn't have a word for it yet. Did she want to use 'love' to describe it? She wasn't sure.

And her heart was torn in two about returning and staying. If there wasn't a way home, then there was no problem because she wouldn't have to chose. But if there was, then making the choice to return or stay was bound to be the biggest emotional turmoil that Reinette had ever faced.

Pushing all the thoughts that confused her so to the back of her head, she leaned in to him, leaving a lingering kiss on his lips before settling into the pillows, slightly turned to her side so that she could still comfortably converse with him. She laced her fingers through his free hand, giving it a gentle squeeze before she asked him a question, one delicate eyebrow raised.

"You don't mind having me in your bed?" It was a loaded question, and she knew it. But a cheeky grin had begun to pop up onto her face, which she desperately tried to bite back. She wanted to fluster him, if only as a small payback for having to leave for 11 months.

Dúlinnor's eyes met Reinette's. "I'm glad I'm still here, too." She said, though there was something to the way she'd said it that caused the Elf to wonder what was going through her mind in that moment. Dúlinnor did not comment, opting for simply watching her as she lay down upon the pillows. He turned his gaze form her as she sighed. As the silence engulfed them, Dúlinnor looked across the room at the far wall. What would he do when Reinette was finally able to return to her world..he did not know.

He could not imagine not being able to see her..to touch her. However, he would not ask her to stay. He couldn't. It would be selfish and she needed to make the decision on her own. It was only a matter of time before their Queen found the way for Reinette. Dúlinnor did not wish to think of it though he knew that their time together was limited. A sadness suddenly ran through him at the thought. Reinette had brought light back into his life, something that he'd not expected. If she was gone..would he return to the way he'd been?

Suddenly, Reinette's lips were upon his own. The Elf returned her kiss, allowing the thoughts to slowly disappear from his mind for now. Somehow, the Human was able to force out any terrible thoughts when they were so close. It frightened him to think she had such a sway over him. Not even Arneth had held such a power. Reinette's movement caused the Elf to turn his gaze to the young girl. She then took his hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. Dúlinnor returned the gesture and Reinette spoke. "You don't mind having me in your bed?"

Her question surprised the Elf though he tried to hide it. He regarded her for a moment before he tore his gaze from her, going back to gazing at the wall. It was a dangerous game that he was playing. He simply could not give Reinette his heart fully. To do so would take him back to darkness once she was gone. He knew that he could not survive such a thing again. He briefly wondered if the Mortal knew of this..of what would happen should they continue whatever was happening between them and she left.

Yet, perhaps it was worth it. This had been the happiest that he'd been in such a long time. Even Aglaron had commented on his mood. Suddenly, the Elf realized that he'd not answered the woman at his side. He looked to her seriously. "You do not mind being in my bed?" He threw back at her, his gaze suddenly finding hers. He stopped laughing as he watched her patiently.

After a few moments had passed, Dúlinnor smiled at her before allowing himself to relax into the pillows slightly. He decided to lighten the sudden mood that surrounded them. "Just remember...keep your hands to yourself." He laughed lightly before he closed his eyes once again. The poison was still draining his energy though he was trying to fight it. A moment later, he reopened them.

He shook his head as if trying to chase away the sleep that seemed to be calling him. He truly hoped that the following day the Healers would allow him to leave. Though he could not remember having been bedridden for so long, he had never liked being confined so.

The rest of the evening, Dúlinnor spent talking with Reinette about different things. He was simply happy to be out of the darkness that he'd been in for the past two months. It was only as the hour began to draw late that the Elf finally allowed himself to drift off into sleep. Still, his eyes remained closed as his breath became steady and more at ease.

The following morning, Dúlinnor awoke to one of the Healers having entered and was moving about towards him. He apologized before telling him that his bandages needed changing. Dúlinnor nodded before gently attempting to awaken Reinette. He would have preferred to allowed her to sleep. Only after she'd moved did he slowly sit up. The pain in his shoulder was the same though he still tried to hide it from the Mortal.

The Healer went about as usual and within a few moments Dúlinnor had new dressings for the wound. An elixir was given to the Elf and then a small breakfast was brought in. After they were left alone again their small meal began. Dúlinnor would be glad to have real food again. Though the food the Healers served was not terrible..it was not comparable to what they normally had. He spoke with Reinette and soon enough the meal was over. It was after that his parents entered.

His mother was quick to make her way to him, gently pulling him into a hug. She was mindful of his shoulder, though it was easy to see that she was happy to see him awake. "Dúlinnor, how glad I am that you've awaken. I could not bare to see you in such a state. The thought of loosing you...it was breaking my heart." It was something that she had never said to him before and he didn't quite know how to respond to her. The woman then offered to fix his hair, so that it was not in his face. Dúlinnor agreed. He doubted that he would be able to do so himself for some time. The woman set about her work though it did not take her long.

Harnor was eyeing Reinette, almost as if he knew how the feelings between his son and the Mortal had changed. Yet, he said nothing. The older pair visited for some time before the Healer had returned. Dúlinnor's full condition was checked over before he spoke. "You are improving. So long as you continue to take care of the wound and get as must rest as possible, I believe that you would be fine to leave."

Dúlinnor's face brightened slightly at the words. He was reminded that the bandages still needed changing three times a day and that if anything got worse to return immediately. The Elf gave Reinette the item that would be needed to care for the Warden. The Healer then decided that Dúlinnor could leave any time that he wished it. His parents were pleased with the news. "Perhaps you and Lady Reinette would allow us to visit later? I can help her with the evening meal if she would like." The older female turned her gaze to Reinette.

He smiled before explaining to Reinette what his mother had asked. Only after the Mortal had answered did the older Elves leave, saying that they had business within the market. And just like that Dúlinnor and Reinette were alone once again. "I should very much like to go home now." He said, smiling at her. He'd been brought a new outfit, one that was quite relaxed. He asked the Mortal to wait for him at the waiting room, that he would join her momentarily.

Only once she'd left him did he slowly begin to change. He found this to be a rather difficult task. Only being able to use the one arm was much harder than he would have imagined. It took him a bit longer than normal, getting his tunic off and the new one on was the worst. He made sure that he looked presentable before he headed out to join the girl.

Reinette couldn't help but smile at the look of slight surprise on Dúlinnor's face. That was the reaction she had been looking for. His eyes left hers, turning to look at the wall. She settled more against the pillows, a grin on her face. But that grin was soon replaced by a blush and a pout at his response. "You do not mind being in my bed?"

'Ooo, thats sneaky... Answering a question with a question.' She thought. Her eyes had found his again, a serious look in his eyes. But he laughed at the look on her face; a dash of pink on her cheeks and an inability to speak momentarily.

Well, she couldn't say that she minded being in his bed. Couldn't say she'd mind sharing it with him indefinitely. She turned her head from his gaze to hide the sudden crimson stain as he settled into the pillows. There were more thoughts than she cared for bouncing about inside her skull.

These were the times that she didn't care for being so pale. The times when handsome Elven men made jokes about sharing beds with her, that weren't entirely jokes. She smiled anyway; at least he was being playful with her.

"Just remember... keep your hands to yourself." She couldn't help but burst into laughter with him, thankful that he was so good spirited.

"No promises!" she joked, turning to face him once more with a smile that matched his own.

They spent the rest of the evening just talking and laughing about whatever came to their minds. As the hours began to grow long and the sun had long since disappeared beyond the horizon, Reinette felt her eyes growing heavier. She'd protested against them, though when Dúlinnor had noticed how she was trying to fight sleep, he'd told her to just get some rest. She'd protested against him too, whining a bit about how she wasn't sleepy. He'd laughed at her, and before she'd known it, she had fallen asleep.

Her dreams were simple, happy. Laughter. Sunshine. Dúlinnor was with her, saying something with a smile on his face. She couldn't really hear anything - it was more like watching a silent movie. He was kissing her, his hands on her, things getting heavy. A voice somewhere was telling her to wake up, and she tried to tell that voice that something awesome was happening here, to leave her alone. But a thought came to her then that this was a dream, and the illusion was shattered.

Her eyes opened slowly, her body groggy. Dúlinnor's face was peering at her from a slightly elevated position, and she smiled at him before moving slowly to get up; in her sleep she had basically cuddled up against the poor Elf, his warmth a comfort to her sleeping self. Only then did she realize that they weren't alone in the room. A Healer was there, getting ready to change his bandages. She nearly bolted upright, before recognizing the face of one of the Healers who had come in many times during Dúlinnor's stay.

It was still slightly embarrassing to be found in his bed, though. The Healer didn't really seem to be paying her any mind, but she doubted this was considered proper - she'd only just thought about it, hoping she didn't come across as some little vixen... or worse.

Still, she couldn't help but smile at the fact that it was his bed she'd shared, and that he'd wanted her to do so.

Reinette had gotten out of the bed to allow the Healer to do his job, while she searched through her satchel for a brush. Finding hers, she slowly pulled her long hair through the bristles, careful to not tug too hard or break any of the ends. Her hair was getting longer and longer, and she figured she'd have to find someone to trim it eventually, or she would be getting split ends that would ruin her hair.

Pleased with the smoothness that she had achieved, and knowing that she no longer had any semblance of bedhead, she made her way back to the bed. The Healer had left, and breakfast had been brought for them. They ate together, talking until they had finished. She cleaned everything up, placing the empty plates and glasses on the tray. It wasn't long before Dúlinnor's parents made their way into the room - she was glad that she had thought better of remaining in the bed unless someone decided to drop by.

Dúlinnor's mother pulled her youngest into a hug, before speaking to him. Reinette had taken a seat near the bed, her fingers pausing on the line she was reading as she tried reading through a new section of one of her books as she looked up. A smile was on her face - she was glad to see his parents again. Her eyes fell to Dúlinnor, the smile within them growing as she watched his mother fix his hair. She didn't notice Harnor's eyes on her.

The group of them spoke, Reinette testing out some of the words and phrases she had learned. Her progress was definitely noticeable, and Dúlinnor's mother seemed rather delighted at her usage of Sindarin tongue. There was still quite a long way for her to go, but her improvements in pronunciation were clear.

Finally, a Healer entered, speaking to Dúlinnor after checking him over. Reinette caught a few of the words. She smiled, as she had pulled the gist of the sentence from the word 'leave'. The Healer handed her a few items, things that would be needed in order for her to take care of Dúlinnor's wound, a duty that she was going to take very seriously.

The Healer left, and Dúlinnor spoke with his parents before turning to explain what his mother had said. Reinette was rather pleased at the suggestion. She had turned her attention to Dúlinnor's mother, a smile on her face. "I would love it if you would come! Any help would be appreciated." She even offered her smile to Harnor. It wasn't long before the two left, Reinette and Dúlinnor alone once again.

"I should very much like to go home now." He was smiling, and she nodded in agreement. After gathering her things into her satchel and taking hold of her guitar, she made her way out of the room and to the waiting room. She'd wanted to help him however she could, but she figured that helping him get dressed was going a bit too far - he wasn't an invalid, and there were things he ought to do by himself.

She mentally chastised herself at such thoughts, before making her way to sit in the waiting room. Dúlinnor didn't take too terribly long, soon joining her. She hoped that he wasn't in too much pain, before taking hold of his free arm, wrapping one of her own around it as they always had done. It felt right to be that way with him, and she couldn't help but offer him a smile as they made their way out of the building and into the sunshine.

She was sure that Dúlinnor would be pleased to be outside again, especially after being cooped up for so long... even if he had been asleep for most of that time. She was glad to be out with him.

They made their way to his flet, Reinette opening the door for him this time, insisting that he better not push himself too hard or he'd have to go right back to the Healers. She smiled as she said it though, hoping that he understood that she was only looking out for his best intentions.

Once inside, she took her things to her room, depositing them in the place she had not spent much time in since Dúlinnor had fallen ill. She soon made her way back to the sitting room.

"I'm going to take a bath." She smiled at him as she spoke. "After, we can change your bandages and sit outside and just relax. Whatever you want to do." A moment later, she disappeared back to her room, slipping out of her clothes and underclothes before making her way into her bathroom. She drew herself a warm bath, slipping into the water and letting it work away at any stress knots in her muscles. She washed her hair with the lavender and lemongrass soaps, scents she had become rather fond of over the past year and a half or so.

After washing off, she stepped from the bath, drying her hair with one of the absorbent towels. The room was warm, so she let herself air-dry, inspecting her body in the large mirror on the far wall. She could already see differences in herself in the time that she had spent in Middle Earth. There were subtle, but she felt like she looked her age.

'Twenty-four...' she thought to herself, as she looked over her shoulder, back turned to the mirror so she could inspect the scar that she had gained on her right shoulder blade. The rock she had fallen onto had done a number, but the scar was small. She supposed she didn't mind - it was a reminder of the terror she had felt in those moments, but also a reminder that she was strong and had lived. That she had so much to continue living for.

She wandered into her room, slipping into a new pair of underclothes before slipping into a pretty long sleeved dress. It was one that Dúlinnor had complimented her on when she first wore it around him, and one that she loved. Taking the towel from her hair, she put it back in the bathroom before making her way back to where she had previously left Dúlinnor, bandages and medications in her hand, fully intent on taking care of the man who had saved her life.

As the Elf joined Reinette, the young woman took hold of his free arm as she usually did. Dúlinnor was happy to finally be up and no longer confined to the room he'd been in for so long. He glanced at Reinette as they made their way from the building. He returned it happily, his mood having improved quite a bit the moment they had made it outside. To the Elf, it had felt like a lifetime since he'd been in the outdoors. He could not say that he'd been pleased with it. However, now, being out there with Reinette upon his arm caused a smile to find its way to his face.

The journey to his flet was uneventful however he was fairly certain that he'd spied Ringil watching them from a distance. The male Elf had simply tore his gaze from her, it drifting to the woman at his side. He was happy to allow Reinette to steal his attention.

It seemed like no time before they'd reached the flet. Dúlinnor had moved slightly, attempting to get the door for Reinette. However, before he was able to the woman had done so. He did not understand and he'd said as much to her. Reinette had explained though he was unsure of how opening a door would cause him harm. However, he could see that she was only looking out for him and he let it be.

They entered the home together. Reinette left him, heading to her room and the Elf found himself alone for a short moment. His gaze took in the home quickly. It look exactly as he'd left it. Not that he'd expected anything else. A few moments passed before Reinette returned. Dúlinnor turned his gaze to her, listening as she spoke. "I'm going to take a bath. After, we can change your bandages and sit outside and just relax. Whatever you want to do." He smiled at her, nodding to her.

She left him once again and Dúlinnor slowly made his further into the sitting room. He'd noticed that none of the weapons that he'd taken with him to the Border were there. He would have to ask Aglaron about it. His sword was easy enough to replace though his bow meant a great deal to him. His grandfather had gifted it to him before he'd sailed to the West.

He sighed softly before taking a seat on the couch. Dúlinnor was glad to finally be back home. He spotted the book that he'd still been reading before he'd left and picked it up, opening it with his free hand and then allowing himself to pick up where he'd left off. He was quickly lost in its pages.

The Elf was unsure of how long had passed...perhaps some time as he'd been able to make a good deal of progress through the book. She entered the sitting room and the Elf turned his gaze to her. She looked beautiful and the thought caused the Elf to smile at her. She was carrying the bandages and medications that the Healer had given her.

Reinette seemed quite intent upon making sure that he was well taken care of and he would never be able to put into words how much he appreciated her actions. "You look lovely." He said softly as he waited for her to join him. He smiled at her as he watched her. Honestly, he did not look forward to having his wound cleaned again. Though it was not bothering him right now, it seemed to after the treating.

He did not move until Reinette told him that she was ready to treat his wound. He slowly removed the sling, being careful not to move too quickly. He could not say that he would miss not being able to use his arm. Once the wound was no longer open and it was on the mend, he would be able to stop using the sling and slowly begin to use his arm again. It was something that he looked forward to.

Once the sling was off, Dúlinnor slowly began to remove his tunic. Though the Healers had been able to treat the wound without him removing the article of clothing, it would be easier to the woman to do her task if she could get to it fully. Removing the tunic was a bit harder, though he managed. There was now a slight pain in his shoulder though he tried to ignore it. He then moved so that Reinette could get to his back.

He sat still, allowing her to begin undressing the wound. He was silent as she went about her task. As the bandages were finally removed, the Elf glanced at the part of the wound that he could see. It was still an angry red color with hints of purple in a few spots. That was most likely due to the poison. The wound itself was still open though was at least not bleeding as badly as it had when he'd first received it. He could only imagine what the wound on his back looked like...perhaps the same.

It was as Reinette began to clean the wound that the Elf suddenly froze as pain shot through his shoulder. He tried to hide it, not wanting her to worry though he suspected that she would be able to see through his guise. He concentrated on breathing normally and after a moment he was able to relax a bit though was still fighting the pain. "Tell me," He started, intent on keeping his mind distracted. "Why were you out in the Forest that day." He was not asking her to tell him. He was fully intent upon finding out what had driven her so far from the city that day. He simply could not see her taking off and leaving without someone to help her across the bridge.

"You look lovely."

Reinette made her way toward Dúlinnor, a smile on her face. "Why thank you," she began, a blush spreading on her cheeks. She took a seat behind him, preparing the various ointments and salves as well as the bandage to protect his injury from infection.

Dúlinnor removed his sling, the movement obviously causing him pain. Reinette's eyes couldn't pull from his chest as he removed his tunic. She'd seen him without it on, but he'd practically been in a coma from the poison and the Healers had removed his tunic to treat his wound. But now with him removing it, she felt her cheeks redden at the sight. He was fit, that was for sure.

Her eyes slid away from him for a moment, her blush deepening, before snapping back as he shifted places to make his back more accessible. Slipping her fingers under where the wrappings were tucked together, she began to unwind the wrappings to access the wound. Finally, it was revealed, and she grimaced at the sight of it. She'd seen it many times before, had even helped to change the wrappings over the past month, but even so the wound made her cringe every time she saw it, if only slightly.

She began to clean the wound, feeling his muscles tense under the touch. She felt terrible that she was bringing him that pain, but continued anyway, knowing that if she paused it would only elongate his exposure to the pain.

"Tell me," his voice began, wavering only a moment from the pain before continuing. "Why were you out in the Forest that day."

She could hear the statement in his question. He wasn't asking her - he wanted to know.

Her eyes watched her hands as they cleaned his wound, removing the beginnings of any infection that might want to start. She wasn't going to let him get any worse - now that she had him back, she was going to do anything in her power to keep him there.

She debated not saying anything to him about it. Debated dancing around the subject. But she knew she couldn't avoid it, because he'd saved her life. He'd taken an arrow for her, a poisoned arrow that was eating away at him, his body fighting to heal itself. She knew that any way she explained it wasn't going to sound good, and only hoped that he would understand, or at least forgive her.

She began to re-wrap his wound with clean bandages, her voice sounding far away to her as she began to talk.

"I was out in the marketplace looking for something to buy you as a gift for when you returned... I had no idea when you were going to come home, but in case you came, I wanted to have something for you..." Her eyes watched her fingers move, not daring to look away from anything she was doing. She didn't trust herself to look at him. "I was walking, and Ringil came up to me."

Her fingers stopped moving, having tucked the bandages into one another to hold them in place as they had been done by the Healers. "We were... talking. And some... things were said." A shaky intake of air quickly moved into her lungs, releasing after a moment.

She could feel the tears pricking at the sides of her eyes, and she moved one of her hands to wipe it away. "...She said that... that humans," she practically spit the word out. "Will live and die in the blink of the eyes of the Elves... that I will die the same way. That when you've... finished with me, and I'm dead and buried, she'll..." She couldn't bring herself to finish the sentence, her arms wrapping around her mid-section as her gaze fell to the floor beside her.

"And I was angry," she began after a while. "I was so angry, and I was so hurt. I just wanted to be anywhere but there, and I ran. I honestly don't know how I got across that bridge, but I was trying to find the stables, trying to find the horses..." Her voice had picked up in frequency, slightly higher than normal. A few more tears had leaked out of her eyes, but she didn't even move to wipe them away. "I got lost." There was a light hiccup, before she looked up at him. "I don't know how longer I wandered for, but I was trying to find my way back... and... I stumbled upon them. I ran as fast as I could... I was terrified." In her eyes, the emotions that she had felt, that pure terror, was reflected. "I knew I was going to die. But I didn't want to die. I... I didn't want to die."

Her eyes turned away from Dúlinnor again, before she spoke. Her words were practically a whisper. "I'm sorry... It's my fault you got hurt... If I wasn't so stupid, if I didn't let her words get to me..." Her voice trailed off, her vision flicked up to him again, trying to gauge his reaction. She made no move to wipe any tears from her face, made no move except to nervously twirl the end of a strand of hair between her fingers.

The Elf remained silent as the girl that was so close to him continued about her task. He'd decided not to push her..she would likely speak when she was ready. Dúlinnor attempted to continue to ignore the pain as Reinette cleaned the wound. He was glad that she was there with him. He could not think of anyone else he would rather have with him. A few long and silent moments passed when Reinette finally began to wrap the wound. It was then that she broke the silence. "I was out in the marketplace looking for something to buy you as a gift for when you returned... I had no idea when you were going to come home, but in case you came, I wanted to have something for you...I was walking, and Ringil came up to me."

The Elf was giving her his full attention, hanging on to her words as they left her mouth. Reinette finished with his bandages and her hands left him. "We were... talking. And some... things were said." She continued and Dúlinnor was glad that he was not going to have to pester her about getting the tale. He slowly moved, pulling his tunic back onto his form. He turned then, not bothering with the sling for now. His gaze fell to Reinette, watching her as she spoke. "...She said that... that humans Will live and die in the blink of the eyes of the Elves... that I will die the same way. That when you've... finished with me, and I'm dead and buried, she'll..." Reinette went silent then and for a long time they simply sat together.

Dúlinnor thought that perhaps the young woman would continue soon enough and he was not disappointed. "And I was angry. I was so angry, and I was so hurt. I just wanted to be anywhere but there, and I ran. I honestly don't know how I got across that bridge, but I was trying to find the stables, trying to find the horses...I got lost. I don't know how longer I wandered for, but I was trying to find my way back... and... I stumbled upon them. I ran as fast as I could... I was terrified. I knew I was going to die. But I didn't want to die. I... I didn't want to die."

Reinette turned away from him then, whisper to him. "I'm sorry... It's my fault you got hurt... If I wasn't so stupid, if I didn't let her words get to me..." It pained him to see her in such a state. She was crying and upset..blaming herself once again for his injury. The Elf was silent for what seemed like a long time. He was thinking over her words and it was not difficult for him to see that she'd spoke nothing but the truth. It seemed that Ringil had waited until Reinette was most likely alone and then had begun her verbal attack.

Suddenly, the Elf moved. He turned his body more towards Reinette, his grey eyes falling to her. He allowed his good hand to raise to her face, gently wiping the tears from her beautiful face. He was not angry with her..how could he be? The female Elf had played Reinette's feelings and emotions against her and it clearly still upset the young girl. He then placed a gentle kiss upon her forehead, as if that would calm her down..make her feel better.

As he slowly pulled away, he broke the silence. "I would not have you apologize to me, as I believe I told you yesterday. Reinette, you are anything but an idiot. You should not be so hard on yourself. We all do things that we wish we could take back or change. It is how we learn." He paused as he gently cupped Reinette's face with both hands, ignoring the pain that immediately shot through his shoulder.

"Lady Ringil's words were cruel though held some truth to them. The lives of Mortals are but a mere blink in the eye of my kind. However, that does not mean that we do not care for you. It is just how we see the passage of time." He hoped that he'd made sense to her though he was unsure. "I am not angry with you for leaving the city. What troubles me is the fact that you seem to think so little of me." He simply couldn't understand why she would think that he'd so easily get over her and on to another.

"If and when I decide on marrying someone, whether it be you or some other person that I've not even met yet..it is my decision and I would not take it so lightly. Once one of my kind marries, it is for life. Whether or not both live forever or just one...we do not move on to another. Our heart is forever bound to the one that we marry. So, even if that ever came to pass between us...I would never be with Ringil nor any other until the end of my days." He allowed his hands to fall from her face, taking her hands into his own. "And..I would no longer be immortal in such an instance and so I would die eventually as well. Ringil knows this. She was only trying to hurt you. I will speak with her soon. She should not be acting so. She knows that I want nothing to do with her."

He rose from his seat then and pulled the sling on once again. He knew that it was best to keep it on..not doing so while he needed it would only cause his to need it for that much longer. Dúlinnor was not happy with the female Elf. Because of her actions, Reinette had nearly gotten herself killed. He did not know what he would do if anything happened to her.

Dúlinnor knew his family would be there over the next few hours or so. However, he wished to spend time with Reinette before they arrived. He'd revealed to Reinette much about the way Elves went about their marriages. If they decided to progress their relationship, Dúlinnor would have to make a choice...remain immortal and eventually have to live without the woman or become mortal and die as she would. He already knew what he would choose. Though, he suspected that Reinette would not like it if she knew that it was a choice.

Reinette felt Dúlinnor's hand move to her face, gently wiping away the stray tears on her cheeks. His lips were against her forehead a moment later, leaving a lingering kiss behind. She slid her eyes shut, taking in the feeling of his lips, before he pulled away.

"I would not have you apologize to me, as I believe I told you yesterday. Reinette, you are anything but an idiot. You should not be so hard on yourself. We all do things that we wish we could take back or change. It is how we learn."

Both hands took gentle hold of her face, and she snapped her eyes up to meet his.

"Lady Ringil's words were cruel though held some truth to them. The lives of Mortals are but a mere blink in the eye of my kind. However, that does not mean that we do not care for you. It is just how we see the passage of time. I am not angry with you for leaving the city. What troubles me is the fact that you seem to think so little of me."

Her eyebrows knit together in confusion - she didn't think little of him... but he quickly explained further.

"If and when I decide on marrying someone, whether it be you," She blushed. "...or some other person that I've not even met yet... it is my decision and I would not take it so lightly. Once one of my kind marries, it is for life. Whether or not both live forever or just one... we do not move on to another. Our heart is forever bound to the one that we marry. So, even if that ever came to pass between us... I would never be with Ringil nor any other until the end of my days."

She felt like her eyes were permanently locked onto his own, his hands falling to her own to take hold, giving them a kind and reassuring squeeze. "And... I would no longer be immortal in such an instance and so I would die eventually as well. Ringil knows this. She was only trying to hurt you. I will speak with her soon. She should not be acting so. She knows that I want nothing to do with her."

Reinette felt her heart clench at the words. Her eyes followed after him as he stood, sliding his sling on to his injured arm. She stood as well, wiping away the few remaining tears with the back of her hand. Taking in a shaky breath, she offered him a smile.

She watched him for a few moments, before approaching him and wrapping her arms around his midsection in a hug. Sometimes, she forgot their height difference, but in this moment, she couldn't help but smile, slightly amused by it. She rested her head against his chest, mindful of his arm as she took in his scent. "Thank you..." she said, her voice slightly muffled by his tunic. She truly was thankful - Dúlinnor was always kind, always looking out for her.

And he'd gotten her thinking about a few things... Relationships. Even marriage. That wasn't something that had run through her head before, but she couldn't say that it sounded entirely bad to her. She'd have to bring it up with Thurilostel the next time she saw her. She didn't know what she was going to hear when the Elven woman explained it to her, as she was blissfully unaware of the process.

Pulling away from him, she smiled up at him, before stepping back and taking hold of his free hand. "Come on, lets go out and relax on the deck." She lead him out the door, quickly returning inside the flet for a moment to grab her guitar, before making her way back out to the deck. Over the past year and a half, they had gotten a set of outdoor chairs for them to sit outside on. She made her way to the open one, sitting across from Dúlinnor, a true smile on her face.

"I learned a few songs while you were gone," she began, laughing slightly. She played a few chords, before beginning to sing, her voice floating through the air. The song was almost like an Epic tale sung in Sindarin, a story of the woods. She didn't know all of the meaning to the words, but she was proud that she had memorized it. If she had to say, it was her reigning accomplishment of her time spent in Middle Earth. She got lost in the words, happy for a chance to play again. She hadn't spent much time playing since Dúlinnor had been hurt, but the tension in her muscles seemed to release as she sang, her voice a soprano that carried through the woods around her.

Reinette moved to him, wrapping her arms about his form in a hug. The Elf immediately allowed his free arm to encircle her, holding her close to him. The woman laid her head upon his chest and Dúlinnor allowed himself to rest his chin lightly upon the top of her head. "Thank you..." Reinette said and the Elf smiled at her words. "You are most welcome..it is why I am here."

The Elf allowed Reinette to pull from him and he watched her as she took a step backwards and took hold of his free hand. "Come on, lets go out and relax on the deck." Reinette said before she moved to lead the way out of the home. Dúlinnor followed her, more than happy to do as she wished. Once they were outside, Reinette returned inside for a moment. The Elf went ahead and took a seat, making himself comfortable.

Not a moment later Reinette had returned, carrying her guitar. She took a seat across from him smiling. Dúlinnor was most pleased to see her in a much better mood now and returned her smile happily. "I learned a few songs while you were gone," Reinette said, a laugh on her voice. Dúlinnor was intrigued, interested to hear what song she'd learned. She began to play and then she began to sing.

Dúlinnor allowed her voice and the music she created to wash over him. It soothed him, sitting there and listening to her. He was silent as she performed her song. He could honestly sit and listen to her for as long as she wished to sing. He had a small smile on his face even as she finished. "Lovely as always." He complemented her honestly. "And I do believe that your Sindarin has improved."

He knew that she still could not fully speak nor fully understand the language yet it made him happy that she was still working on learning it. It wasn't the easiest language..even more so(he imagined) for someone who had little understanding on any language save for Westron. Dúlinnor was more than happy to allow Reinette to sing as much as she liked. Only once she was finished did he strike up conversation with her.

He found himself laughing with her for much of the time. Dúlinnor's spirit was light, a thing he'd not felt in many long years. He was happy and it was because of Reinette. He knew that he'd never be able to repay her for showing him the light again. Some time had passed before they were finally heading back into the flet. Dúlinnor suspected that his parents would arrive soon.

Once they were inside, safe from prying eyes, Dúlinnor turned to Reinette. "Do not worry about Ringil. I will be by your side until I am fully healed and am back at being able to use my arm. She will not bother you while I am around..and even then she will not dare for fear of making me cross with her." He gently pulled her closer to him and leaned down towards her. He allowed himself to place a kiss upon her lips, lingering for a moment.

He'd found that he rather enjoyed being this close to her. After a few moments the Elf pulled away slowly, allowing himself to steadily gaze at her. He smiled at her brightly. A soft knock on the door signaled the arrival of someone. Dúlinnor moved from Reinette and made his way to the door. He opened it, surprised to see Aglaron, Thurilostel, and Bregolon. "Mother and Father said that they were coming by tonight so we thought we join as well. It is your first night home, after all." Aglaron said.

Dúlinnor could see that his brother was being unusually nice. Thurilostel was quick to pull the younger Elf into a light hug before she moved towards Reinette. "I brought you sword. I thought that you might eventually need it." Aglaron placed the weapon on the rack and it was then that Dúlinnor realized that his brother was suddenly looking slightly apologetic. "I also returned and found your bow. However..I'm afraid that it is damaged."

The younger Elf suddenly became serious. Aglaron moved, reaching just outside of the flet to get the weapon. As the older Elf brought the weapon in, Dúlinnor suddenly realized just how badly damaged his bow was. It was only being held together by the bowstring, the weapon itself having been snapped in half. As Dúlinnor's gaze took in the damage his face suddenly showed just how dejected he was suddenly feeling. There would be no repairing the weapon. Aglaron gently placed the bow on a nearby table and then turned to his brother, placing a hand upon his shoulder in comfort.

"Something must have stepped on it during the battle. I'm sorry..I know how much it meant to you." The older Elf said. Dúlinnor said nothing, his gaze resting on the weapon for a moment longer before trying to cover up the sadness that had been showing on his face. He didn't want Reinette to realize that he was rather upset at the loss. He hoped that Thurilostel had at least been trying to keep the Mortal distracted when his brother had given him the weapon back.

Another knock sounded at the door and Aglaron opened it to allow the eldest pair of Elves to enter. Their mother hugged Dúlinnor and then moved throughout the room to greet everyone. Their father followed, lingering with Dúlinnor for a moment before doing the same as his wife, even greeting Reinette warmly.

The women would very likely head into the kitchen shortly and so when they did it left the men alone. They all took a seat in the sitting room. They spoke together for some time, actually..for once, getting along. It was easy for Dúlinnor to see that his Father was trying to at least be civil. "I do hope that you are remembering to keep your distance from the Mortal girl. It will do you no good to get too close to her, Dúlinnor." His Father said, suddenly bring their civil talk to a halt. Dúlinnor eyed the older Elf, as if trying to understand why he would say such a thing. He was fairly certain that he had no idea that he'd kissed Reinette and that..still..he continued to do so.

However, it was hard to tell with Harnor. The Elf knew how to hide what he was thinking rather well. Aglaron was glancing between the other two, as if waiting for one of them to blow up. "What are you talking about? I'm as close to her as I have been since the beginning of her stay here." He said at last.

Harnor shook his head. "No...something is different. Do not take me for a fool, boy. I am not blind." Dúlinnor had been ready to jump in however his Father held up a hand. "I'm not trying to fight with you. I just want to make sure that you are aware of the road you are taking." Dúlinnor nodded, surprised at his Father's words.

A short moment later, his Mother suddenly joined them. "It'll be time to eat soon." She said softly, taking a seat next to her youngest. The other women had sent her to spend time with him as she'd not been able to much during his stay with the Healers. The conversation changed the moment she joined them. Harnor did not wish his wife to hear what they'd been speaking of. He did not wish to worry her.

"Lovely as always. And I do believe that your Sindarin has improved."

Her smile absolutely lit up her face. It meant so much to her to hear that she was improving. She had been nervous that her pronunciation was off, or that she had an accent or something. But Dúlinnor's compliment was genuine, and she felt the warmth of it spread through her.

Together, they conversed for a while, the laughter of one infectious to the other. Reinette couldn't wipe the smile off of her face, and she couldn't stop the butterflies in her stomach as she watched Dúlinnor. The way that his face looked when he laughed, the way he held himself, the look in his eyes when he spoke to her...

Eventually, the two made their way inside, Reinette turning to look at Dúlinnor as he pulled her up flush against him. "Do not worry about Ringil. I will be by your side until I am fully healed and am back at being able to use my arm. She will not bother you while I am around... and even then she will not dare for fear of making me cross with her." Reinette smiled at his words, particularly at the last part of it. She knew that Dúlinnor's words were true, that with him nearby she would not have to worry about Ringil. She hoped the same would hold true if he wasn't nearby...

But her thoughts were quickly pulled away from anything but him as his lips descended upon hers. She lost herself in the kiss, even as simple and sweet as it was. In Dúlinnor's arms, she was like putty.

But before she could really lose herself in his arms, he pulled away. His smile was addicting too, and she couldn't help but mirror his. But a knock at the door interrupted their moment together, and Dúlinnor pulled away from Reinette. She couldn't help but pout slightly, but even still she smoothed out her dress and hair, hoping at least to look presentable for whomever had arrived.

Dúlinnor opened the door, and there stood his Aglaron and Thurilostel, Bregolon in his mother's arms. Aglaron spoke to Dúlinnor, as Thurilostel gave the younger Elf a hug. She then made her way over to Reinette, the Mortal woman smiling brightly at the approach of the Elf.

"How are you doing?" she asked Reinette, who smiled in response.

"I'm well. Happy. Honestly, I'm just glad that Dúlinnor is home." Thurilostel nodded in agreement, running her hand over Bregolon's back. He seemed to be sleeping, or at least on the verge of sleep, in his mothers arms. His tired little eyes looked up at Reinette, who he had begun to refer to as his 'sister' a few months prior. A smile made its way to his face at the sight of her, and she couldn't help but smile back. There was a sweet spot in her heart for this small Elven child, and Reinette knew that her love for him would only grow as time went on - he really was like the baby brother she'd never had, and she was flattered that he thought so much of her as to call her his sister.

Bregolon protested slightly, now that he'd seen Reinette there. He tried to appear that he wasn't as tired, but eventually fell asleep against his mother, his head tucked under her chin. Reinette smiled at the both of them, before looking over at Dúlinnor. His shoulders seemed a bit tense, and at first she thought he might be in pain. A worried look settled over her visage before her eye fell to his destroyed bow. It took her a moment to realize exactly what it was, before her eyes widened.

Thurilostel had been watching Reinette for the few seconds it took her to put two and two together. She knew that the Mortal woman would want to do something to fix the damage that had been done, but there really was nothing in her power. So Thurilostel decided to try to distract her from becoming too absorbed with worry about the weapon, and instead keep her mind on other things. "Reinette, let us make our way to the kitchen to prepare the meal."

Reinette turned her head to gaze at the Elven woman as she spoke, before nodding. Thurilostel was glad that she was going along with it, though she could still see the worry in Reinette's eyes. Reinette was simply too kind for her own good.

The pair of women were about to make their way to the kitchen when another knock sounded on the door. They stopped walking, turning their heads to the door as Dúlinnor's parents entered the flet. Dúlinnor's mother came about rather quickly to greet both Thurilostel and Reinette, making sure to do so quietly when she saw Bregolon sleeping in his mothers arms. Harnor came around then, greeting his daughter-in-law happily, and even managing to greet Reinette in a nice manner. Reinette was surprised at the way he approached it, to say the least. But she didn't dislike it. So she greeted both Dúlinnor's parents back in Sindarin, proud of her ability to do such a thing.

Reinette, Thurilostel and a sleeping Bregolon, and Amareth made their way into the kitchen, preparing the evening meal together as a team. Thuri couldn't do as much as she'd have liked to, balancing the toddler in her arms while still trying to help out as best as she could.

The women chatted as they cooked, discussing various topics. Reinette told them of some recipes from her hometown that she thought they would like, and Thurilostel and Lady Amareth seemed rather intrigued by some of the concepts. As the preparation of the meal got to the point where really only one person needed to be in the kitchen working, Reinette and Thurilostel insisted that Amareth go out to join her sons and husband. She'd protested at first, but eventually went with some persuasion.

Reinette finished up the preparations by herself, setting the table for all of them while speaking quietly with Thurilostel. The topic of marriage was still fresh in Reinette's mind, but she decided that this was neither the time nor the place to bring such a thing up, and would speak with the female Elf about it later. To Reinette, marriage was a huge ceremony, just as it was on Earth. She would be in for quite a surprise when she found out the true nature of the beast...

Thurilostel observed the glow that Reinette seemed to have about her as she worked, and the other woman couldn't help but smile. She knew how happy Reinette was to have Dúlinnor back in the world of consciousness. She could see the woman's feelings for Aglaron's younger brother in her eyes, and while it warmed her heart, it did still leave her with a feeling of worry for the younger Elf. She wanted nothing more than for the both of them to be happy. All she hoped was that there were no broken hearts along the way, for both of their sake. She knew just how it would destroy Dúlinnor; she'd seen it happen already. And Reinette seemed too kind, too frail, to handle such pain. She was a human after all - thus, her emotions were much more volatile than those of the Elves.

Reinette stepped back from setting the table, smiling at her work. "I think everything's ready," she said to Thurilostel, who nodded her agreement. Both women stepped from the room together, Bregolon finally stirring in his mother's arms. She placed him down on the floor, the smaller child quickly tottering into the sitting room toward his father before wrapping his tiny arms around one of Aglaron's legs, looking up at his dad with a big smile.

Reinette couldn't help but smile as well, before she turned her attention to the rest of the room. "The meal is ready." She smiled at them as the group made it's way back to the table to sit and enjoy the food together, easily falling in step next to Dúlinnor, a healthy glow about her.

Amareth turned her gaze to her sons that sat near each other. "It warms my heart to see you two together again. It was odd not having you, Dúlinnor, around. For most of your lives, the two of you have always been together." She said, smiling. The family continued their conversation however Dúlinnor had gone more silent as time wore on. He found himself continuing to think about his bow. It was silly for him to be so bothered over a object yet he could not seem to get passed it so quickly. He was certain with time it would get better. He would just have to keep himself busy and eventually he'd get a new one.

Some time passed, Dúlinnor's family seemingly not noticing the younger Elf's silence. Reinette and Thurilostel entered the sitting room and Dúlinnor turned his gaze to the two women. Bregolon was placed on the floor and he made his way to Aglaron, wrapping his arms around one of his father's legs. The older Elf beamed down at his son. Hello there, Little One. Awake just in time for the evening meal?" He laughed before picking his child up. "The meal is ready." Reinette said, smiling.

Slowly, the family began to head towards the kitchen. Dúlinnor walked a bit slower than the others as he came to walk with Reinette. He glanced to her, simply eyeing her. Was it really so easy for his father to see that they'd become something more than just friends? If he could see...could the others as well? It wasn't that he minded..it was just that he knew what they would say..well..most of them.

Dúlinnor finally offered Reinette a small smile just as they entered the kitchen. His family was taking their seats and Dúlinnor took his only after having pulled a chair out for Reinette. The meal began and the air about the group was light and happy. Yet, still, Dúlinnor was more on the quiet side. He spoke when spoken to though other than that he was silent.

As the meal came to an end, Amareth rose first. "Dúlinnor, do not worry yourself I will clean up. It is the least that I can do. Lady Reinette has done much to help you and I can do this to at least begin to repay her. She deserves a break." Dúlinnor nodded at the woman, watching as she began clearing the table. The male Elf placed a gentle hand upon Reinette's arm. "Mother says that she would like to clean up...that you deserve a break." He explained to her, smiling.

One by one, the remaining family made their way back to the sitting room. Dúlinnor rose, waiting for Reinette before heading towards the other room. When they arrived, the others were already in conversation. Thurilostel smiled as they entered the room. The Elf took a seat in one of the chairs, getting comfortable. He knew that his family would likely remain for another hour or so. Honestly, Dúlinnor was glad for the company. However, he also just wanted to spend time with Reinette.

He was having some slight pain in his shoulder as the elixir had begun to wear off. However, he was determined not to allow them to notice. However, he suspected that Reinette would. She seemed to pick up on things that others did not. Or perhaps..she was simply more observant than his family. Dúlinnor, by the time his mother had joined them, was no longer speaking at all. The older woman spoke. "I believe that we should be returning home..no doubt that Dúlinnor needs his rest. We will likely see you over the next day or so. It is my hope that the two of you shall join us for the evening meal."

Her words had surprised Dúlinnor. He'd not expected them to leave so soon. His father was rising from his seat, making his way towards his son. "Yes..I expect to see you then. And Lady Reinette. If you insist upon keeping the Mortal so close..bring her as well. She's grown on me, after all." He bid Dúlinnor, Reinette, and the others a good night. The older Elves then parted for the evening. Aglaron glanced to his brother. "I am sorry again.." He started but Dúlinnor interrupted him. "Don't be. I know better than to leave it lying about in such a manner. I was more concerned with making sure that we made it out in one piece.."

The older Elf suddenly smiled, nodding. "Either way, I am sorry. But, we should probably head home as well. Bregolon will need to be put down for the evening soon." The older male bid his brother good bye before doing the same to Reinette. He did not normally do this though he knew that his brother was fond of the girl and he'd decided that perhaps it was best to try to be more civil with her. And...his wife and son were fond of her as well. Thurilostel had nagged him quite often about his attitude towards the girl. Truly, he was trying.

The small family was soon leaving them as well and within a few moments, Reinette and Dúlinnor were alone again. "Mother wishes for us to join them in a few days for the evening meal. I think she rather likes you." He said to her, a small smile on his face as he watched her. After she'd spoken, the Elf slowly removed his sling, trying to ignore the pain that was shooting through his shoulder.

He tried to ignore it and once the fabric was off of his body, he slowly rose from his seat. He made his way over to the small table that his broken weapon lay upon. His gaze settled onto it once again. He sighed softly as he gently picked up the weapon, turning it slightly. He eyed it, still unsure of how it had gotten halved. It had been through much and it was unusual that an Elven bow would break so easily.

Dúlinnor suddenly spoke to Reinette. "I suppose that I need to get rid of it..there is no fixing it." He was not happy with this..yet..Reinette was safe and no more harm had befallen her..and so..he would consider it a good trade. "My Grandfather made it for me..before he sailed to the Undying Lands." He explained softly, his gaze suddenly moving to Reinette.

Reinette gladly took the chair that Dúlinnor offered to her, sitting comfortably and helping to serve the meal. She was thankful for the companionship, as well as for the inclusion she felt. Even Harnor was asking her questions and including her in his conversation. That surprised the young woman, but she by no means rejected it - instead, she gladly took part in all conversation directed at her. But she noticed how quiet Dúlinnor had gotten, and she hoped that he wasn't feeling any pain. She tried her hardest to offer him smiles and encouraging looks, but knew that something was definitely bothering him.

She mentally reminded herself to change his bandages when his family had left.

The meal soon drew to a close, and Dúlinnor's mother stood, and began to clear away the table. Reinette was just about to protest and jump in to help clean when she felt a warm hand on her arm. Her attention turned to Dúlinnor, awating an explination. "Mother says that she would like to clean up... that you deserve a break."

Reinette was about to protest once again, and insist that she hadn't done enough to help, when she turned her eyes to Amareth. The older Elven woman was smiling at her, and any protest died in her throat before it made its way from her mouth. Smiling back, Reinette thanked the woman.

Soon, they made their way to the sitting room, Dúlinnor staying by her side as they walked. She smiled over at him, happy for the time they were able to spend with his family. Reinette took a seat on one of the couches next to Thurilostel, who was quick to include her in the conversation. Reinette attempted her best to keep up with any Sindarin words she heard spoken, and also did her best to answer in kind. Her attempts were met with positive reinforcement, even a few small chuckles of encouragement from Dúlinnor's father. While her sentence structure was simple at best, and clearly that of someone learning the language outside of an educational setting, it was clear that the Mortal woman was trying her hardest to assimilate, to learn something about the people who had so willingly opened their homes and hearts to her... at least, for the most part.

But her eyes would glance over to Dúlinnor every so often. He'd gone silent, and she could see the battle of wills going on in his eyes. It seemed that all his energy went to fighting whatever pain he felt, and her heart truly went out to him.

But it wasn't much longer before his parents were leaving, bidding everyone goodbye. Even Harnor made sure to bid Reinette goodbye, and she could feel the large smile on her face as she did the same for him. She felt acceptance, or at least some sort of understanding. She finally felt like she belonged there, that she was wanted there.

Aglaron was next to come to her, bidding her goodbye. She was slightly surprised - usually, he would give her a curt and simple nod or something along those lines, but this time he'd actually taken the time to talk to her. That felt like a huge leap, and when Thurilostel approached her to do the same, the slightly older Elven woman seemed rather pleased with her husband. Reinette couldn't help but smile, saying goodbye to each and every one of the members of the small family, Bregolon giving her the biggest hug his tiny body could muster before they all left.

Reinette sighed as she realized it was now just she and Dúlinnor. She smiled, turning her attention to the male.

"Mother wishes for us to join them in a few days for the evening meal. I think she rather likes you."

Reinette couldn't help the fact that the smile she already had on her face grew at those words. "I'd love to join them," she began. "And I am thankful for that... I am rather fond of your family, as well."

Reinette turned to him fully, and her expression slowly changed to that of a slightly worried one as he took his sling off his arm. She knew that it was there to support and restrict his arm from moving unecessarily and causing him pain. She moved to him, as he made his way to stand nearby a small table, his focus on whatever object lay on top of it.

As she neared him, the objects identity became clear, and she thought back to earlier in the night when she'd seen the bow given to Dúlinnor by his brother. He'd looked pained then, and if the sigh escaping his lips now meant anything, clearly this was more than just any old bow.

"I suppose that I need to get rid of it... there is no fixing it. My Grandfather made it for me... before he sailed to the Undying Lands."

Reinette had made it to his side, her eyes on the bow snapped in two that sat in his hands. The Undying Lands were not unfamiliar to her. Of course, she had read about them in Tolkien's novels, but those memories were being pulled from her brain like petals from a flower, plucked out one by one, oblivious to her mental protests. She had re-read about it in one of the Westron books on Dúlinnor's shelves.

She couldn't help but feel his sadness at the destruction of something that held such sentimental value. But in her own creative way, she wanted to find something that could help him with that sadness. "I had a friend who graduated from school and joined the military straight away," she began. She doubted if at first this story would make much sense at all, but it all truly had a purpose. "My country was in a great war with another country. He was dedicated to fighting for the cause of our leaders, but that ultimately cost him his life." Her eyes kept hold of the bow in Dúlinnor's hands, the brokenness of the object the reason for the story. "His family was devastated at his death. We all were. But a very kind person decided to make a stuffed toy from his uniform to give to his mother as way to always remember her son. That uniform was a representation of the duty he fulfilled to his country, and it's reuse into something of continued value made something once considered unusable into something that would remind his mother of good memories and times gone by."

She turned her eyes up on his face then, smiling at him. "Sometimes you just need to be creative..." She was hinting at the fact that she didn't think getting rid of the bow was the way, without being overly obvious about it. She'd just have to let Dúlinnor figure it out himself. She had a few idea of her own that were beginning to float about, and she wasn't at the point where she wanted the cat out of the bag, so to speak.

After a moment of letting him think, she spoke up again. "Come, let's change your bandages."

Reinette spoke of a friend of hers that she'd had back in her world. At first, he was unsure of why she was telling him all of this. "His family was devastated at his death. We all were. But a very kind person decided to make a stuffed toy from his uniform to give to his mother as way to always remember her son. That uniform was a representation of the duty he fulfilled to his country, and it's reuse into something of continued value made something once considered unusable into something that would remind his mother of good memories and times gone by." The Elf continued to remain silent as Reinette had continued.

The woman was smiling at him, watching him. "Sometimes you just need to be creative..." He was finally understanding what she was saying. That she didn't think that he should simply throw the bow away. Perhaps she was right. Only..he had no idea what the weapon could possibly be turned into. He decided not to dwell on it. "Perhaps.." He said at length, his gaze still on the weapon. A very short silence flowed between them before Reinette spoke. "Come, let's change your bandages."

He turned his gaze to her for a moment before he offered her a smile. Her concern for him warmed his heart. The Elf placed the bow back down, he would worry for it later. He turned then, making his way over to the couch. He then removed his tunic slowly, trying not to cause himself any more pain than he was already feeling.

Placing the shirt down next to him, Dúlinnor turned so that Reinette would be able to get to the wound easily. He waited patiently for the young woman to join him. As she did and began about taking care of him, Dúlinnor was fine until she began cleaning the wound. The moment she began to do so, the Elf tensed at the sudden pain. He tried to to ignore it but found that he could not. He was silent as she continued about her task, trying not to move from her.

It felt like forever before Reinette was finally finished. Only once she confirmed this did the Elf slowly move. He put his tunic back on before turning his attention back to Reinette. "Thank you." He said softly, offering her a smile. He put the sling back on, though he truly did not wish to bother with it. However, he knew that Reinette would likely remind him why he needed to wear it. He looked forward to when he'd be able to stop wearing it.

He wanted nothing more than to take Reinette into his arms though he could not. It was frustrating though he would manage. He gently placed a kiss upon the woman's cheek before rising from his seat. "Truly, I would be lost without you." He said as he offered a hand to help her up with. "I believe that I am going to lay down..I am exhausted." He was actually surprised that he'd managed to stay awake for so long. It was a good sign, though.

It was his hope that this meant that the poison's hold on him was slowly loosening. He hesitated for a moment, his gaze steadily resting on her. Gently, he pulled her to him and he captured her lips. Their earlier kiss had been short, sweet. This one, Dúlinnor allowed to linger much longer. His hand slowly found its way to the back of her neck, keeping her close to him as his lips moved against hers. It was much like the kiss he'd given her before he'd left for the Borders.

He was happy when he was with her and he did not mind allowing it to show. He smiled as he slowly pulled back from her slightly. His grey eyes were on her once again as he regarded her. "Tomorrow, I was thinking that I would spend some time with Aglaron for a bit. If you'd like, you may join me in going to his home. I'm certain that Thurilostel will be happy to see you. You've been neglecting your friendship while I've been out."

Dúlinnor placed another kiss upon Reinette's lips, lingering once again. He released her a moment later before taking a step back. "I shall see you in the morning. Unless," He was suddenly smiling at Reinette as he teased her. "You are planning on sleeping in my bed again." Though he teased her, Dúlinnor would not mind Reinette staying with him. However, he would not say as much. He did not expect her to. The Elf leaned in one final time, capturing her lips for a short moment.

He then parted from her, slowly making his way through the flet to his room. Once there, the Elf went about changing and got ready for sleep. It did not take long and soon enough he was in bed with his eyes closed. As he'd spoken to Aglaron earlier, his brother had expressed the interest in spending time with Dúlinnor away from the women. His reason had been unclear but the younger Elf suspected that something was going on. Yet, he tried not to think about it. He would find out soon enough.

He tried to clear his mind, to rest as he knew that he needed to do. He wanted to get better as quickly as possible. He hated not being able to do the things he normally did. Reinette suddenly filled his mind. And then the thought of her leaving came as well. He worried and he suspected that he would continue to do so until they heard something from Galadriel. Though, he would not let this spoil their time together. He slowly began to drift off into a deep sleep, his mind slowly becoming clear as his awareness slipped away.

Dúlinnor awoke in the middle of the night, he couldn't have been asleep for longer than four or five hours. A deep and shooting pain was in his shoulder. For a long time he simply laid there, hoping that it would go away. It hadn't been this bad since he'd gotten the wound. After he'd finally given up on the pain easing, Dúlinnor rose from his bed and exited the bedroom, walking quietly. He headed towards the kitchen. The elixir that the Healer had sent with them was being stored in there.

The Elf was quick to find it, pouring the amount that he was supposed to take, and then quickly downed the liquid. It still did not seem to be easing up. He didn't want to bother Reinette but it worried him. Still, he sat down at the table, trying to ignore the shooting pain. He had no idea how long he sat there but he finally had enough. He rose from his seat, slowly making his way further into the home.

He stopped in front of Reinette's door, hesitating. Normally he would not bother her..yet he hoped that perhaps just being near her would help. He hoped that she would not be cross with him. He quietly opened the door, trying not to wake her. He moved through the room easily, approaching her bed. He'd left his sling off after going to bed earlier, and so..the Elf slowly moved, joining her. He placed his body near hers, his left arm slowly encircling her. It was already bothering him and so he didn't see any harm in holding her close to him. He allowed himself to close his eyes, trying to rest until the pain went away. Dúlinnor was unsure of when the pain began to subside. But, it was shortly after that he fell back asleep. He'd not meant to, having planned on returning to his room once he was able to bare the pain.

Dúlinnor approached the couch, slowly removing his tunic from his form. Reinette couldn't help but blush that was on her face once again at the sight of him. Her voice whispered in her head that she really ought to learn how to control the blood flow in her face, else everyone would be able to read what she was thinking.

Approaching him, she took the spot behind him once more, finding where she had tucked the end of the bandage before slowly unwinding it. She then got to work on reapplying the important cremes and disinfectants, noting the way that his body tensed as soon as she began applying them. It killed her that he was in so much pain. All she wanted to do was get rid of this terrible injury for good, and so she continued, hoping that there would be significant and quick improvement in the days to come. She knew that her thinking was wishful at best, but she couldn't help it all the same.

Finally wrapping the wound again to protect it from exposure to outside elements, she sat back, cleaning up the used bandages and soon disposing of them. She left him only momentarily to do so, returning to find him sliding on his tunic. "Thank you." She nodded, returning his smile, though the look in her eyes spoke volumes - she wished she didn't have to cause him pain, wished that nothing was wrong with him.

He soon put his sling on as well, and Reinette was thankful that he had done so. She didn't want to have to ask him to - he was older than she was, and knew how to take care of himself. The last thing she wanted was to make it sound like she was bossing him around, but she knew she would do it if he didn't continue taking care of his body. She didn't want him to have to go back to the Healers; she wanted to prove that she could care for him when he was unable to fully do so himself. It was the least that she could do.

His warm lips were upon her cheek for a moment, before he pulled away. She had been so consumed by her thoughts that it startled her slightly. She looked over at him, before a warm smile pulled up at her cheeks. "Truly, I would be lost without you." He stood, offering her his free hand which she took as she stood. "I believe that I am going to lay down... I am exhausted."

She was about to answer him when the look in his eyes cut her words short. It was one of those looks that took her breath away, and she gratefully accepted and returned the kiss he gave her as he gently pulled her up against him. She knew not how long they stood entwined with the other, but frankly, she didn't care. Her arms had wound gently around his neck as his own held her closer to him. She lost herself in the feeling, craved more, but eventually it drew to a close as he pulled back slowly.

"Tomorrow, I was thinking that I could spend some time with Aglaron for a bit. If you'd like, you may join me in going to his home. I'm certain that Thurilostel will be happy to see you. You've been neglecting your friendship while I've been out."

Reinette nodded, before his lips touched hers once more. she knew that she had been unable to spend as much time with the Elven woman as she usually did, and it had pained her to be unable to spend time with her favorite Elven child as well. But Dúlinnor would be spending time with Aglaron, so it seemed to be the perfect time to have some quality time with the woman who Reinette would say was her best friend.

"I shall see you in the morning. Unless you are planning on sleeping in my bed again."

Reinette felt her face go absolutely red at that one. Was he in her mind? But no, he couldn't be. Else he would have blushed at the things she thought about. That thought just made her go redder, her eyes turning down slightly as she willed herself to think about something else. But he was just teasing her, and she could hear it in his voice.

No reason to admit that she wanted to spend the night with him again. No reason to admit that she liked waking up next to him.

Before she could stammer out something that would probably embarrass her to the point of death, Dúlinnor captured her lips once more, effectively calming her racing heart and mind. And just like that, he was walking away from her and down the hall to his room.

She stood stupidly in the middle of the sitting room, staring after him. Did she want to follow him to his room and climb in bed with him, to hell with customs and 'right' versus 'wrong'? Absolutely one-hundred-percent yes. Was she going to? ...No.

She turned and made her way to her own room, stopping a few times to look back toward his own. There was a feeling pulling her towards his room, but she told herself that it probably wouldn't be such a good idea because he was joking with her. So she let out a sigh, closing the door to her room behind her.

She journaled a bit that night, drawing some sketches of something that she had been thinking of since she first saw Dúlinnor's destroyed bow. The bow she drew in the pages of her journal was effectively the same shape as the one he cared so much for. But this one had intricate hollowed out sections in the place between the lower and upper limb and the grip. They crisscrossed like perfectly symmetrical vies weaving together, or weavings of a basket. She didn't know much about bows, and had no idea if any of the carvings she drew into the picture would damage the integrity of the weapon, but she knew it was pretty. She'd need to find someone to talk about making this a reality, and she figured Thurilostel would be the perfect stepping stone for starting a project of this sort.

She didn't know how long she sat and drew for, but eventually she could feel the weight of sleep calling her body to rest. With a yawn, she shut the pages of her journal, before slipping out of her dress and into her nightdress, a silken fabric that only further encouraged her into bed.

Almost as soon as her head hit the pillows, she was out like a light.

Reinette's dream world was like some undisturbed place of refuge. Dúlinnor was there, and she could feel her heart jump at the sight of him. He wrapped her up in his arms, holding her close. Warmth surrounded her, though the sound of a child laughing caused her to pull back from him slightly, searching for the noise.

A little girl, no more than five or six years old, stood nearby them. Reinette would have sworn it was herself as a child; the long blonde locks would normally have been a dead giveaway. But her face was slightly different, slightly softer... and something else. Dream-Dúlinnor's arms held Reinette more securely as she watched the girl, his lips coming to connect with Reinette's neck. It was like he didn't notice the child, who she assumed was herself, there.

"Who are you?" she asked out loud to the little girl, who turned to look at her fully. A pair of grey eyes met her own in response.

Reinette's eyes widened.

There was something warm in the bed next to Reinette, but it didn't fully register in her mind that someone was there with her. All she knew was that she wanted to go back to sleep, her dream world slipping away from her like sand between her fingers. The image of the child was leaving her brain, but there was something about the girl that intrigued Reinette.

But just like that, it was all gone, and she moved slightly, trying to understand the weight across her waist.

Her fingers met skin, and she traced it down to hand, holding firmly yet softly around her midsection. She would have panicked, but something told her that this was familiar, that she knew this hand... or, whoever it belonged to. Turning slightly, she was met with the sleeping face of Dúlinnor.

The cogs in her brain were turning far too slow. She knit her eyebrows together in confusion, looking from his face to the room around her. Yes, it was her room, but she couldn't figure out why she wasn't alone in it...

And then it clicked. He must have come to her room in the middle of the night.

He'd come to her room.

He was in her bed.

He was cuddling her.

She let out a small squeak of surprise before jamming her hand across her mouth to cut the noise short. No sense in waking him up. After her heart calmed down a bit, she lay back against the pillows, her eyes watching his face as he slept. She had not been given the opportunity up until this point to study him this close as he slept peacefully.

She turned her body slightly so that she was facing him, his arm still draped around her waist and hips. Her own tucked into her chest, and she snuggled up against his chest, tucking her head under his chin and effectively cocooning herself into him. She liked the feeling of his arms holding her while he slept. It felt... sinfully right.

She wondered briefly if she were a horrible person for wanting to spend more than nights in his bed. Was it wrong of her to have fallen in such a way for him? But she quickly pushed the thoughts away, just thankful for the moment she had in his arms.

She dozed slightly there, her mind in a state between wakefulness and sleep as the suns rays began to peek through the window. They caught the bird-feeder in their light as they did every morning, casting the rainbow prisms against the walls and the skin of the two beings clutched together in the bed.

Later that morning, Dúlinnor finally began to stir. The Elf kept his eyes closed for a few more moments. The first thing that he realized was that he was warm and perfectly comfortable where he was. He wanted nothing more than to simply remain where he was. As he began to slowly begin to wake up more, Dúlinnor suddenly realized that someone was laying within his arms. Suddenly, the earlier hours came flooding back to his mind. He had fallen asleep in Reinette's room after the pain had begun to subside.

He hoped that she was not cross with him. He'd honestly not meant to stay for so long. Reinette's head was right below his chin and he tried not to move..at least just yet. The feeling of her in his arms made felt as if she belonged there. It was odd yet Dúlinnor was happy to keep her there. He finally, slowly, opened his eyes. He took in what he could see of the room. He'd not been in there since Reinette had come to stay with him. It had once been rather a cold looking room yet now it simply felt..warm.

She'd slowly made it into her room. Of course that was expected. She'd been with him for some time and it only made sense that she would make the room more into her own. His arm tightened slightly about the woman, waiting to see if she was awake. A moment later he spoke, sleep still in his voice. "Good morning." He allowed the young woman to answer him before he continued, seemingly content to remain as he was. "I..am sorry." He waited for a moment before he decided to explain himself.

"I woke up earlier..my shoulder was bothering me. So, I took some of the elixir and..I...just though that if I..was with you that it would keep my mind from the pain." He was not wanting to tell her how bad the pain had been though she might figure it out. "It was not my intention to fall asleep." He paused, allowing her to speak if she wished it. Honestly, now thinking about it..he wasn't entirely sure why he'd allowed himself to enter her room. He shouldn't have..though he had felt better afterwards.

"I am not in pain now..perhaps I should just keep you near me until I am healed." He said, laughing lightly. He moved, removing his arm from Reinette's waist. He turned just slightly so that he was on his back. "I have to admit..I rather enjoy waking up with you." He said softly. He waited a few more moments before he decided that they needed to get ready for the day. He waited for her to move before he slowly sat up.

He turned his gaze to Reinette, a small smile on his face. He leaned over, placing a lingering kiss upon her lips. Everything just felt...right. Dúlinnor would have liked nothing better than to remain there with Reinette for the rest of the day. Yet, he could not. "Did you wish to take care of my wound now?" He asked her. It would likely be easier if she did. He waited for her to answer before he made sure that she wanted to do it in her room. Only then did he remove his tunic, waiting for her to begin with the task. It went as it had the last few times that Reinette had taken care of it.

When she was finished, Dúlinnor put his shirt back on, smiling at the woman. He thanked her again before rising from the bed. "I shall see you shortly. I'm going to get ready." He placed another kiss on her lips before turning from her and making his way from her bedroom. The Elf headed to his room and he took his time getting ready. He could only do little in the kitchen for now and it was not something he liked. He'd grown used to taking care of Reinette and now..she was taking care of him. The thought left a strange feeling in his chest.

He made sure to put his sling on. Though the wound was not bothering him much he knew that it was still best to keep it on until he was no longer having any pains. Slowly, he made his way to the kitchen to join Reinette for breakfast. He greeted her warmly, sitting down to join her for the meal that she'd prepared. The meal went quickly and Dúlinnor spent much of the meal speaking with the woman.

When they'd cleaned up, the Elf suggested that they could head to his brother's home. They would be expecting them. As they exited the flet, Dúlinnor offered his good arm to Reinette, keeping her close to him as they began the walk. He spoke with her happily as they walked. He had to admit that he'd not expected to arrive so quickly. However, they were there and so Dúlinnor allowed Reinette to knock.

Aglaron opened the door shortly after, his eyes drifting the two briefly before smiling and allowing them to enter. Dúlinnor allowed himself to separate from Reinette so as to greet Thurilostel who had risen from her seat. She hugged the younger Elf and then moved to Reinette. "Come. I thought that we could head out to the training grounds. I know that you can't train but it will do you good to be out in the Forest. Thurilostel will take care of Lady Reinette." Aglaron said. The older Elf placed a kiss upon Bregolon's head as the child was in the floor playing. He then made his way to his wife. He placed his hand over his heart and then allowed the hand to move from him in her direction.

Dúlinnor, as his brother was telling his family goodbye, turned to Reinette. "I shall see you later. Aglaron seems to want to get me out into the city." He told her. When his brother was ready, they left. They walked in silence for a long time before Aglaron spoke. "Thurilostel is not pleased. I received word late last night that I will be returning to the Borders in a week. She does not wish me to go but I must. I only wish she could understand. We are still being attacked and our lands must be protected."

The younger Elf knew why Thurilostel was not happy. The brothers never went out without one another. This would be the first time that one of them had been called without the other. "I am sorry. This is my fault.." Dúlinnor said softly as they neared their destination. "No. Do not apologize. You are still recovering. I would not allow you to come with me regardless. You need to be resting." Aglaron said. Still, Dúlinnor felt bad. "You will watch over my family for me while I am gone?" He asked Dúlinnor suddenly. The younger Elf nodded. Of course he would.

He could easily see that Aglaron did not wish to leave. But he would. It was his duty and if Dúlinnor was in the same position..he would do the same. He placed a hand on his brother's shoulder. "Just be careful while you are gone. I will watch over things here."

Reinette felt Dúlinnor stir, and she slowly dragged her brain out of the place between sleep to a more awake state. She blinked a few times, trying to get the sleep from her eyes. "Good morning."

She hummed lightly in return, her body still tucked warmly into his embrace. She didn't really want to move yet; she was too content where she currently lay.

"I... am sorry."

Reinette's head snapped up at that one, though. He was sorry? Sorry for what?

"I woke up earlier... my shoulder was bothering me. So, I took some of the elixir and... I... just thought that if I... was with you than it would keep my mind from the pain. It was not my intention to fall asleep."

"You don't have to apologize..." she began, wiggling slightly in the bed to make herself eye-level with Dúlinnor. "I mean... it doesn't bother me." She kept the other thoughts to herself, offering him a smile instead.

"I am not in pain now... perhaps I should just keep you near me until I am healed." Reinette laughed along with Dúlinnor, but instantly missed the feeling of his warmth against her as he turned to his back in the bed. She studied him for a moment, before he spoke.

"I have to admit... I rather enjoy waking up with you."

There was her face again, tinged with pink like always. She looked away from him slightly, her eyes concentrating on the pictures she had drawn, scattered about her desk. Eventually, she turned to look back at him, when she was sure that tinge to her cheeks had faded slightly. "I... I rather enjoy it, too." She sat up, her hair a bit of a mess, as she readjusted the small strap on her left shoulder that had decided to creep its way downward.

Dúlinnor was sitting up then, leaning over and meeting her lips with his own. She melted into the kiss, completely forgetting where they were... only paying attention to the way that he made her heart skip a beat. As their kiss ended, she rested her forehead lightly against his. His voice soon floated to her ears. "Do you wish to take care of my wound now?"

Her eyes snapped open, a surprised exclimation sliding out of her lips. "Oh! I... yes!" Scrambling slightly, she almost fell out of the bed as she made to get up. She quickly rushed to the bathroom, gathering the supplies that she had stored in one of the shelves within before making her way back into the bedroom to Dúlinnor. He had removed his tunic, and she almost dropped a few things at the sight of him in her bed like that.

Reinette was screaming at herself mentally, telling herself to just keep moving, just act like there wasn't some gorgeous Elven man shirtless in her bed. She climbed back on, taking the spot behind him, and she unwound the bandaging. The sight of the wound drew all her focus away from all of her previous thoughts, and the could only concentrate on keeping the angry looking wound better over time.

She soon finished, and Dúlinnor slipped his tunic back in place. "I shall see you shortly. I'm going to get ready." She nodded as he stood, leaving her with a kiss before leaving her bedroom. When he closed the door behind himself, and she heard his footsteps retreating away from the door, she couldn't help but smile and flop back on her bed, slightly giddy.

'He spent the night in my room...' she thought, closing her eyes and taking in a slow breath. She lay like that for a few moments, before bolting up. "Shit! I've got to get ready!" She clambered from her bed once again, narrowly missing slipping on on of the blankets and face-planting, before rushing to her chest of clothes. She slipped out of the silken nightgown in one fluid motion, before stepping into a new pair of underclothes and finally a maroon colored dress. She was quick in all her movements, except for when it came time to brush her hair.

Delicately running the bristles through her hair, she smoothed and unknotted the long blonde-white waterfall. Satisfied with the way she looked, she clasped the beautiful necklace that Dúlinnor had gotten her around her neck, before making her way out of her room and to the kitchen.

She immediately began preparing a light breakfast for the two, settling into the motion of setting the table and cooking simultaneously. Soon, it was ready to serve. Dúlinnor appeared in the doorway then, greeting her. She smiled at him, setting the food on the table before taking her seat across from him.

They conversed happily during the meal, and Dúlinnor helped to clean up as best as he could with Reinette. Finally, he suggested that they head to Aglaron and Thurilostel's flet. Reinette made sure to grab her satchel, and within it to place her journal. She really wanted to ask Thuri what she thought of her crazy little idea.

Together, they made their way to Dúlinnor's brother's home. They walked as they normally did, Reinette keeping hold of his good arm. They probably walked closer together than they normally did in public, but she couldn't even bring herself to care in that moment. Soon, they'd arrived at the flet, and Reinette knocked on the door.

Aglaron's face greeted them in the doorway, and Reinette smiled as Dúlinnor greeted Thurilostel. Reinette was soon given the chance to greet her friend. Soon enough, Aglaron and Dúlinnor were leaving, Reinette having taken a spot on the floor next to Bregolon who promptly handed her a toy. She smiled down at the young child, who seemed intent on smacking the toy in her hand with the one in his own, happy laughter bubbling out of his small body.

Thurilostel's voice caused Reinette to look up at the Elven woman. "You will be a good mother one day, I can feel it within my being." Reinette chuckled slightly, the dream coming to her conscious before fading away just as quickly.

"I think I always wanted to be a mom, even since I was little. Children have a special place in my heart..." Thurilostel looked at her knowingly, but Reinette could see the sadness in the other woman's eyes. She decided not to press it, knowing full well that the Elven woman would disclose her feelings to her eventually.

Bregolon had abandoned smacking his toy against the one in Reinette's hand, and had now busied himself with hiding in Reinette's hair. His grin was full of energy, as he would practically play peek-a-boo with his mother using Reinette's hair as the hiding place. She laughed, fully content with the child who was finding amusement in the length of her hair.

The women chatted for a bit, before Reinette found the voice to ask Thurilostel about something she had been thinking of for a while.

"I guess this is a weird question," she started, and Thurilostel looked at her curiously. "But... I was just wondering what Elven marriages were like..."

The Elven woman raised her eyebrow slightly. A slightly amused look settled onto her visage; Thurilostel knew enough of Mortal customs to know that the answer she was about to give was not the one that Reinette was expecting. "Well, it depends. Usually there is a feast, but that is not truly necessary for marriage. In reality, the act of copulation in itself is all that is required to be married, for the act itself is the marriage."

Reinette's eyes had gone wide, her cheeks turning a dangerous crimson color. "O-oh..." was all she was able to stammer out. That... was not what she had expected at all! At the look on the Mortal woman's face, Thurilostel knew that it was most definitely not the custom of her people, and she couldn't help the laugh that began in her throat.

Bregolon paused his playing to look at his mother, who was now laughing. Her laughed too, though he didn't understand what he was laughing about.

Reinette had turned her face slightly, trying to calm the blush on her cheeks. Thurilostel eventually calmed down, and Bregolon decided to play with one of the stuffed toys his father had bought for him. Clearing her throat, Reinette sheepishly looked up at Thuri, who was smiling at her.

"Dear Reinette, why are you always so red?"

She pouted slightly. "Well... copulation isn't something we usually talk about where I'm from... at least not in public." Thurilostel looked like she understood, but she smiled anyway.

"It isn't anything to be ashamed of. It is a beautiful gift to give to the partner that you will forever spend your days with."

Reinette shrugged, her eyes turning downward, the blush still apparent on her cheeks. "I know that..." she half muttered, as the women kept talking with one another.

Eventually, Reinette got over her embarrassment enough to fish her journal out of her bag. She flipped to the page where she had drawn the bow, before handing it over to Thurilostel. The Elven woman looked appreciatively at the artwork, before looking towards Reinette questioningly.

"I was thinking... I wanted to repay Dúlinnor in some way for what he's done for me, for saving me... And I figured that if anyone knew someone that could make bows, that maybe... well, maybe I could get a bow like this made for him..."

There was a sparkle in Thurilostel's eyes, and she seemed to understand - Dúlinnor's favorite bow, something that meant so much to him, had been destroyed. Reinette wanted to find some way to make him a new one; even if it didn't have the same sentimental value as his bow before did, at least he would have the ability to make new memories with it. Studying the drawing, she spoke. "I think I know of a man who could help you in this endeavor."

Aglaron and Dúlinnor soon reached the training grounds. As usual, there were several training already that morning. Most of them were younger, still learning the ways of war. The brothers came to stand out of the way, simply watching what was going on. "Thank you, little brother." Aglaron said and Dúlinnor simply offered a smile to the older Elf.

They spent much of the morning and afternoon at the training grounds. Aglaron had went to working with some of the younger Elves while Dúlinnor had simply been content to watch what was going on before him. It was only as there was a few hours left before the evening meal that Aglaron finally rejoined him. "I think that you may of frightened them." Dúlinnor said with a laugh on his voice. Aglaron shook his head at the younger Elf. "Good then. They need it. When they see battle for the first time, they will thank me for my advice."

Dúlinnor smiled, knowing that what his brother said was true. "Come. I should like to return now. I've promised Thurilostel that I shall spend as much time as I can with her and Bregolon before I am to leave." The older Elf began walking once again, heading back towards his home. Dúlinnor easily fell into step next to his brother. They spoke together for most of the trek, both men glad to be spending the time together.

It was only as they were about halfway back to Aglaron's home that a sudden voice caused them to stop. "Dúlinnor!!" The males turned their gazes and soon realized that it was Lady Ringil. She was beaming up at Dúlinnor as she quickly approached. "I heard what happened to you and I was worried. Though, only your family was allowed to visit. I am glad to see you up and about. I had feared for your life. Surely, you could use some help. I cannot imagine that the Mortal will do you much good. She does not know our ways and she will only hinder your healing."

This time, Dúlinnor listened to Ringil's words. He picked up on her true feelings of Reinette even though she did not say them out right. Aglaron was eyeing his brother, curious as to what he would say. Thank you..but Lady Reinette is more that capable of helping me. I would trust no other to do so. I am feeling much better every day." He paused and Ringil was trying not to show her anger at his words. Why was he so captivated by Reinette? Why couldn't he look at her as she'd seen him do the Mortal?

"Perhaps you will join me for a walk? I would very much like to speak to you about something of great importance." Dúlinnor said. Ringil was quick to agree and Aglaron promised that he would let Reinette know why he was late. Dúlinnor hoped that the Mortal would understand why he was wanting to speak to Ringil. He watched as his brother left and for a moment they simply remained in that spot.

Finally, Dúlinnor decided that it was best to get this over with. He took hold of Ringil's elbow, guiding her along to where he wished to take her. For a while, she chatted with him and he answered her when he needed to. His thoughts had drifted to Reinette. He knew that when Aglaron arrived without him she would likely worry. However, he needed to speak with Ringil.

After they'd walked long enough to be fairly alone, Dúlinnor brought them to a stop. They'd ended up just outside of the city, near the bridge. He turned so that he was looking down at her. She seemed rather pleased that he'd asked her to walk with him. It made him feel slightly bad at what he was getting ready to say to her. "It has come to my attention that you have acted poorly with Lady Reinette. That is unacceptable. The words that you spoke to her...caused her pain and you knew that they would. Because of you..she was put in danger..and I nearly died."

Ringil was no longer looking pleased. As she gazed up at Dúlinnor, she was realizing as she watched him how angry he was with her. "Perhaps she is lying. Why would I say such things to her?" She asked. Ringil was trying to continue to make herself look good but was failing. "I know that she was telling the truth and I do not have to explain to you anything. I want you to stay away from Lady Reinette. You are not to approach her..talk to her..get anywhere near her. If I hear that you've done anything that I've told you not to...then I will be quite cross with you..and you do not want that."

He'd threatened her...without saying as much. Ringil, as she looked up at Dúlinnor, realized that she'd gone too far. She needed to back off. At least for now. With Dúlinnor's wound, he would be around for a good while. Though, she had plenty of time to wait. She just needed to make sure that the male before her did not become too close to the Human. "I understand, Dúlinnor. I am deeply sorry for the trouble that I have caused. I will listen to your words. I will not bother the Human."

She'd bowed her head and the male simply turned, walking off. They were close enough to the city that Ringil would be fine finding her way back without his presence. Dúlinnor walked quickly, wanting to arrive at his brother's quickly. He'd been gone much longer than he would have liked. His trek did not seem to take long and before he knew it he was entering the home.

Aglaron was sitting near Thurilostel, clearly in a bit better mood after having returned. He had Bregolon on his lap, entertaining the child. The older male Elf turned his attention to Dúlinnor as he had entered. "It is good that you are here. Your Mortal was not happy at your absence." He laughed before turning his attention back to his son. Dúlinnor had a small smile on his face now as he made his was further into the home.

The Elf made his way to Reinette though he decided not to say anything on what he'd said to the female Elf unless she asked it of him. "Forgive my lateness. It was not planned." He said, offering her a smile. Dúlinnor offered to help Reinette up. "I think that I should like to return home now if you would like to join me." He would never force her to leave and he was unsure if Thurilostel had told the Mortal what was happening. He simply felt as if they should give the family time to be together while they were able.

He bid them all a good night, even leaning down to receive a hug from Bregolon. Dúlinnor then waited for Reinette before leaving the home. He offered her his arm once they were outside and making their way back towards the flet. He was slowly beginning to feel pain in his shoulder again though tried to ignore it. He remained near the girl at his side as they walked through the city.

He spoke with her as they walked though their topics were light in the case that someone overheard them. The Elf found that his mood was becoming better the longer that he spent in Reinette's presence. They arrived at the flet and Dúlinnor allowed Reinette to get the door once again. She moved more quickly than he was able to at the moment. The pain was starting to slowly get to him.

His wound had last been changed that morning and it was well past time for it to be done again. However, he said nothing on the subject, making his way to the couch. He took a seat, trying to make himself more comfortable to relieve some of the pain. "Did Thurilostel tell you that Aglaron has been called back to the Border?" He asked her as he closed his eyes.
