Leave me alone, I just want to work
Jean is a girl of few words, it's safer for her as it aids in keeping her identity unknown. She prefers to stay in the shadows, and shies away from conversations. When drawn into conversation Jean is extremely serious and speaks with as few words as possible. Jean is a hard worker as she never stops to participate in silly chitchat. She has an analytical mind, and is always making plans that she will never share. Jean is shy, and that paired with her dislike of chatty tends to make people think that she believes she is better than them. Jean has few friends, and she is content with this as her morals would be very against lying to friends. Strangers are fine and dandy to lie to, however. If one were to get to know Jean, you would know that she is reserved and quiet, but quite intelligent and well educated. She is slow to trust anyone, but very loyal when she actually does. Jean can be a bit snarky when she gets angry, which is rarely, but this was the spark of her's that made her think quickly and get out of an arranged union.
Unlike other people in her situation, Jean feels absolutely no emotional ties to her father, she was just riding on his coat tails to get out of her stifled household. She doesn't get sentimental over things of his left behind, or a mention of the father she never met, or even a scrap of his writing. She just thanks him for donating the seeds that it took to make her.
One pistol (that she stole from her Grandfather, and so is not quite proficient at using it)
Small dagger in her boot
Pouch hidden under her shirt containing some gold she stole from her Grandparents
Long gold chain worn under her shirt with a locket containing a picture of her mother
A pocket watch her father left behind by accident, of no sentimental value, just extremely useful
Jean's mother was only a naive sixteen when she had her daughter. Jean's father was thirty-something. She was a gentleman's daughter, and he was a rogue pirate. They were complete opposites and never meant to be, so it was no surprise to Jean's mother when he left in the middle of the night; however being pregnant with Jean was not something she had expected. She had planned on having a quick and passionate affair with the man before heading home, getting married to a nice gentleman who was like her father and never thinking of him again. When Jean's grandparents found out about their daughter they kept her mother locked into the house until she gave birth to Jean and then quickly married her off to some old widower who'd never heard the rumors or her tryst with a pirate.
Jean was raised by her very traditional grandparents, and was christened Camille Jean Prouvaire they taught her to act like a lady and made sure that she kept up with all of her school work. When she was old enough they sent her to finishing school. Jean acted like the perfect child, though she spent more time than needed with her nose in books, absorbing as much as she could about the real world. Secretly she received letters from her mother, in one of which her mother revealed her father's identity and which boat he'd worked on. After Jean finished school she learned that her grandparents were planning on marrying her off, with which Jean wasn't quite alright. Jean took this as an opportunity to finally runaway and explore the life her father had led, and the stories in the books she read
