Setting
Knight's Folly Pass is a narrow and treacherous mountain pass barely able to fit two horses astride each other in some places. The rocky eastern mountains slope steeply upward on either side and are riddled with caves and alcoves where wyverns and rock drakes nest. Large and strong big horns and sure-footed mountain goats used to be plentiful here, until their numbers dwindled and they were chased away by predators. The caves are said to be home to deep dragons, flightless and dim compared to their majestic cousins.
Graelan's reason for building the keep was to guard against vormennin raids and provide a defensive position from which warriors could hunt wyverns and rock drakes. It secretly served him as a place to hold clandestine council, practice magic of questionable ethics, and hide any magical items or arcane knowledge he deemed dangerous.
When Graelan left the highlands after Eradric's death, he left a great deal of property in the keep's tower. To guard against mortal incursion, he called forth spirits to protect his keep and crafted golems to guard its gates. There are also rumors that a particularly nasty deep dragon lives nearby in the network of caves running through the mountains.
House Mordyn scouts claim to have seen mordenmenn soldiers patrolling the area, but so far, Stormlord Mordyn has been stymied in his investigation by the magicians of House Nox. They claim it is because what is contained within Graelan's Keep is too dangerous for mortals to possess.
Stormlord Mordyn suspects that House Nox wants the spoils for its own, however.
