PERSONALITY:

Theodore Fawkes' personality is a mixture of traits inherited from his father and those instilled in him by his mother. He's athletic, mischievous, and clever, all characteristics that are shared by his half-siblings. At the same time Teddy is friendly, easy-going, and surprisingly kind for a thief. Though, a thief he will always be. Property large and small seems to find its way into his hands. Why? Teddy would deny it's because of mere greed, sometimes its simply due to the challenge of the heist and the high of pulling off a robbery. The speed and superior reflexes he's inherited from Hermes comes in handy for his 'borrowing', not to mention hasty escapes should things not go to plan. Of course, his skills are not all wasted on illegal pursuits. Sport is a large part of Teddy's life too. While football is undeniably his favourite, he'll rarely turn down an offer to join any other game. Despite his tendency to steal, Teddy's natural extroverted friendliness and athletic ability makes him an ideal addition to any squad. He's a team player and surprisingly considerate, more than happy to pass the ball and share the limelight if it benefits the group.

Laid-back and possessing a keen sense of humour, Teddy is an easy guy to get along with once you've come to terms with the fact that he might pinch your stuff if you're not careful. He generally tries to keep his sticky fingers off his close friends' things, and for most his open friendliness seems to make up for this less attractive trait. The young man isn't overly loud, he knows the value of silence, and yet whenever Teddy is around people it's rare indeed for Hermes' son to stay quiet. He's always been a people person, his extroverted nature seeing him thrive in social situations. Teddy knows how to get people laughing, and he knows how to distract them from their worries (or their valuables). He'd go to great lengths to ease any friend's pain; stealing the latest video game or movie, and 'procuring' a buffet of their favourite food. If all else fails he'll provide a shoulder to cry on or a warm, comforting hug. The softy in Teddy believes a cuddle is a sure fire way to heal any affliction.

For all his carefree nature, you'd better keep your wits about you if you try to bargain with Teddy or you'll come out poorer than when you began the trade. He's insanely thrifty and adapt at getting the best out of whatever deal is on the table, which is only to be expected from the son of the God of Trade. He's not stereotypically book smart, but Teddy would tell you it's because he can never sit still for long, rather than a deficit in brain capacity. Given half a chance he's actually pretty good at maths, though his attention is prone to wander should a topic not catch his fancy, and the majority of his grades reflect this. Yet, you'd never hear anyone call him stupid. Teddy is sharp, more than some people give him credit for. He can read a situation easily and figure out some way to shift it to his advantage. His intuitive street smarts and perfect memory (another inherited gift from his father) help immensely in such situations, and on more than one occasion those skills have been the difference between escape and discovery.

LIKES:
Theft; stealing; 'borrowing'; 'accidentally' finding others' possession in his possession; what started as a hobby has become a bit of a habit. His collection of stolen items ranges from simple items one wouldn't miss, to pieces of clothing, books, jewellery, and so forth. Football (soccer), Teddy's always been a fan of the game and is quite fond of kicking the ball around when he's got the time. Comedy, what's not to love about a good joke? Junk food; greasy vege burgers, French fries, pizza, pretty much anything that's hot and bad for you is alright in Teddy's books. Of course, since he's vegetarian nothing has meat in it. Surprises; whether giving or receiving a surprise, Teddy's all for them. They make him smile, just like cat videos are always, always guaranteed to make him laugh. Added to the above, Teddy's a fan of Autumn, bear hugs, fireworks, his hair, and sleight of hand.

DISLIKES:
Game shows, they just seem oddly tacky to Teddy. Of course, he could win any if he cared to enter, he's sure he could. Museums, what's the point of traipsing through a stuffy building of boring, old stuff? Teddy doesn't have the attention span to stay interested long enough to give museums a chance. Boredom, does anyone? Racism, it's probably the only topic Teddy won't joke about. Getting caught, this is fairly obvious. Every thief dislikes being caught red handed and Teddy is no different. Security guards, they always seem to sense Teddy's kleptomaniac streak and he's been followed around a store more than once by over-enthusiastic guards. Of course, that doesn't stop Teddy from still managing to leave the store with pockets full of valuables. He's also none too fond of meat, pickles, false accusations, and tattletales.

FEARS:
Imprisonment, aside from the fact that it would be borrowing as hell, Teddy fears being locked up as punishment because it would hurt his family so much. He'd hate to put his mother through that. Paralysis, Teddy's always been an active kid, so any limitations on his body frightens him to no end. Being unable to move entirely is the stuff of nightmares. Losing his family, they've always been there for him and losing any of them would be a painful scenario Teddy avoids thinking about.

FAMILY::
Anita Fawkes | Mother | 41
Harrison Fawkes | Step-Father | 45
Anika Fawkes | Half-Sister | 13
Sonya Fawkes | Half-Sister | 13

RELATIONSHIP WITH GODLY PARENT:
Hermes hasn't been a large presence in Teddy's life. He turned up once to get Teddy out of a potentially sticky situation when he was 12, complimenting his son on the heist while simultaneously chastising Theodore for getting caught. That was the longest visit his father has paid him, everything else has been a short meeting, like when you bump into someone on the street. Teddy's not too hung up on the lack of attention he gets, he knows if he got into any serious trouble Hermes would be there for him. He hopes.

BIOGRAPHY:
Theodore Aarav Fawkes was born to Anita Patil, a British-Canadian of Indian descent who caught the eye of the Messenger God Hermes. Their affair was heated, yet brief, and by the time Teddy was born Hermes had already moved on. Anita temporarily moved back home with her parents where, amid the chaos of raising her darling, but troublesome baby boy, she happened upon an old flame. Three years later Anita and Harrison married and Harrison officially adopted Teddy as his son. The family grew a few years later when Teddy's younger sisters were born, the twin girls offering Anita and Harrison a chance to raise some normal children. Teddy, as much as they loved him, had been getting himself into trouble since he learned to walk and talk. Even as a stumbling toddler, he was surprisingly, startlingly fast. He'd often escape his play pen and be found teasing the neighbour's dog or stealing food from the kitchen. Unfortunately for his parents, Teddy seemed set on teaching his younger sisters tricks of the trade, so the Fawkes house was never likely to be tranquil.

No one in the family, not even Anita, was aware of who Teddy's father truly was. Anita told her son all she could, but as Hermes had never revealed his true self to her, there was only so much the woman could go on. It was only when he was 12 that Teddy met his father for the first time, the god aiding Teddy when he might otherwise have ended up in juvenile detention. Hermes' appearance answered a lot of questions, and once the god had explained himself to Teddy and his parents, he left. The family had always known that something was different about Teddy, and now they knew what. It didn't stop his sisters from idolising him, nor his mother and father from loving him. Teddy had always considered his step-father his real dad, and that relationship didn't change with Hermes' revelation. Even while attending Aeonis he stays in close contact with his family, and never misses his sisters' birthday. He may be a thief, but he'd never think to give his friends of family a stolen gift, bought or made is more up his alley.

FAVORITE POWER:
If you have to ask, than you obviously don't know Teddy all that well. While he'd never trade in his speed for anything, there's no denying the amount of fun being able to clone himself has offered the young man.

MISCELLANEOUS:
Teddy speaks English fluently and can understand Hindi to a degree, though speaks it haltingly; he's been a vegetarian for life, influenced by his mother and her family.

So begins...

There was no other day of the year that filled Nessa Solberg with more doubt than the first day of a new school year. She always ended up wondering if the way she was portraying herself was who she actually was or whether or not she was just lying to herself. She never made herself up so nicely for any other day, but there was no doubt in her mind that today was special. She couldn’t even sleep for longer than twenty minutes at a time the night before. This didn’t bother her. In fact, she preferred to stay up so late, watching the silver curtain of the moon’s light drift it’s way along the simple walls of her dorm room. Being awake at the different hours of the night revealed all the different kinds of light that occur when everyone else was dreaming and light has always been something fascinating.
And the light of this morning was definitely worth noting.
Even though the sun was peaking over the horizon with that gorgeous golden glow, a misty kind of drizzle was descending down upon the academy with that familiar and relaxing hiss as tiny beads of water filled with gold fell upon tree leaves. Nessa watched the rain silently from her window, sitting so close that she could feel the chilly cold emanating from the glass. It wasn’t until the water gave way to sunshine that she let out a long, contented sigh, fogging up the glass. Only minutes later, the echoing voice from the PA system announced that a special guest speaker would be joining the students at breakfast. Nessa took it as a sign and rose slowly to prepare herself for the looming day ahead. She quickly realized her hands were shaking from anxiety and the girl let out a weak laugh before calming herself with a couple deep breaths.

”It’s silly to be scared,” she reminded herself firmly and instead thought to the people she would see again after being away all summer. While she thought of them, she dug slowly through the dresser she transferred her clothes into, considering each option carefully. Finally she chose a black sweater and some simple cropped blue jeans. She paced around the room in these clothes for a few minutes, debating whether or not to change before rolling her eyes at herself. She was being ridiculous. WHile she was pacing, the view outside the window caught her eye. Students were already beginning to roam around on the grounds.

”What time is it?” she asked herself, throwing herself across her bed to grab the little silver alarm clock that sat on an end table. Her eyebrows shot up at the sight and she simply abandoned her clock on the bed in a mad scramble to gather her brown messenger bag and shove several empty notebooks and a box of new pencils into it.

”Turns out I’m really good at wasting time,” she muttered bitterly to herself before rushing out of the door, slamming it behind her and rushing down the halls until she broke out into the world she had just watched from above. The air reeked of the rain and she sucked it in greedily. It was going to be a beautiful day without a doubt. Nessa began to make her way towards the Great Hall, double checking that she hadn’t left anything behind she needed in her bag as a consequence for her hurry. She was looking back to her front when she accidentally ran herself into a body.

”Jeez, you’re just all over me, aren’t ya, Solberg?” a familiar voice joked loudly. Nessa’s shoulders sagged and she visibly deflated when she saw who she had run into.

”Hello, Cornelius,” she answered emotionlessly, avoiding eye contact with the tall boy who was grinning down at her.

”Ya know, you don’t have to call me that, just call me Cory!” he replied cheerfully, either ignoring or completely oblivious to the obvious signs Nessa was giving off that she didn’t want to talk to him. Nessa nodded curtly in response, even though she wouldn’t ever call him ‘Cory’. She strode around him to continue her walk to the Great Hall, increasing her pace so she could leave the boy behind.

”Hey, slow down there, Green Lantern!” Cory called after her, jogging to fall into step next to her, beaming down at her with that ridiculous, ever-present smile on his lips. Nessa broke her icy cold shoulder to give Cory a confused glare.

What?” she demanded and Cory laughed in reply, like he was about to tell her the most hilarious story.

”You like those superhero guys, right? Isn’t Green Lantern the one that runs really fast?” he inquired, acting genuinely fascinated.

”That’s not even a little right,” Nessa sighed, looking away from him and walking even faster now that the hall was in sight.

”Goin’ to breakfast? Yeah, me too. Let’s walk together. What’d you do over the summer? Anything cool? Didja hear all that talk about some guest speaker? Who do ya think it is?” Cory babbled quickly, keeping up with Nessa who was reaching the end of her rope with the boy.

”Listen, I’m supposed meet up with my brother for breakfast so you can go on ahead. I’ll see you later,” Nessa lied pointedly, stopping abruptly outside the front door of the Great Hall. Cory hesitated a moment with a smile hanging off his lips before shrugging calmly, his hands shoved in his pockets.

“Okay then, I’ll see you,” he consented contentedly before swinging the door wide open and disappearing from view. Nessa noticed that as soon as he left, her whole body relaxed. She leaned against the wall outside and pulled out her phone. Breakfast with Teddy didn’t sound too bad. There had to be a lot they needed to catch up on since the last time they saw eachother.

To:Teddy Mah Bro

You’re running out of time, breakfast is soon and there’s an exciting, exciting speaker. Wanna meet up?? :)

Once the text had sent, Nessa simply stood and waited patiently for a reply, memorizing the morning sky. It’s not often a day is so sweet and Nessa intended to remember it forever.

    Dɪᴀʟᴏɢᴜᴇ Cᴏʟᴏʀ ✦ #e84e67 || Tʜᴏᴜɢʜᴛ Cᴏʟᴏʀ ✧ #ee9295

_____EARLIER THAT DAY ;

The sun was rising on a girl who had never slept in the first place; and as if it were taunting her wherever she moved it's rays always seemed to find her eyes. 'Fuck off,' she wanted to say but knew it would be utterly useless for the sun didn't give two shits about whether or not it was inconveniencing her. It was an unmovable by any mortal standing, and trying to make it budge my the sheet power of will was preposterous.

And so, trying to work around the major inconvenience Cecilia resumed the task she had started earlier; cleaning the damn warehouse. It wasn't so much that she liked to tidy things up, but when there was an inch thick layer of dust on the floor she knew it was dirty even by her standards. 'That is probably why I got the place so cheap.' she started ,'No one has lived here in over three years. I wonder why...' but her question was soon answered when the mechanical noise of the elevator screeched it's horrible screech. Dropping everything in her possession she ran toward the machine was surprised to see no one was in it's chambers.

But, deciding to ignore the strange happening Cecilia continued sweeping the floor all the while silently humming to herself a tune she couldn't quite remember where it came from; something swift if she remembered right. Walking through a crowd, the village is aglow. Kaleidoscope of loud heartbeats... Mumbling turned into full on singing with exaggerated dance moves.

The distracting or the songs kept her from growing tired of such a monotonous and job and before she knew it the whole floor had been swept clean of any dirt. It only took half a morning and a full night to do everything, but it was done and the feeling of accomplishment was something she relished in. Doing things by herself for apparently no reason was not her forte, but for the sake of what was to come she didn't mind. (that much)

TO: Collin, Theodore, Sourav, Amanda,
FROM: Cecilia
if u have plans tonight cancel them, you will understand why later.

The message she sent was vague, yes, but purposeful. The details could come later, but for now she had flyers to print and an academy she had to attend.

POST-MORNING

Arriving at exactly eight-o'-clock Cecilia spared no time talking to others and instead hung up her poster beside the notice to attend the opening ceremony at nine-thirty. She paid no mind to it though and instead smiled to herself - admiring what she had designed. She was proud of what two cans of monster and blasting rock music could create because for sure sure she wasn't a graphic designer, and it took everything she knew about art to create just that.

Her feeling of elation didn't end there though, the fact that she could even host such an event was astounding. The warehouse she had rented, even with a discount, was still over any normal high school student's budget. How she had earned enough money was an adventure in itself, but the past is the past and she can't do anything to change it. One thing was for certain though, if need be she could move to Italy and create her own wine company and still be a lethal competitor to most elite of wine producers.

But after what seemed to be hours, her head was deflating and soon enough it returned to it's normal size. The satisfaction was still there, but to a much lesser degree. And in her coming back down to Earth she remembered the notice next to her poster and decided to do as she was instructed for once. "I wonder if the others are there yet," she thought, and so to pacify herself for the time being she sent a text to Sourav which read something along the lines of "no one here I know where are you??!" because while she didn't mind being by alone sometimes, she didn't particularly like it.

TEDDY FAWKES

AND

NESSA SOLBERG
Image

“Heya Ness, what mischief have you been up to while I’ve been away?” a warm voice called out, drawing Nessa's attention to Teddy. He looked amazing, god, it's crazy how much you can miss someone in a few months. A grin broke across her face before she could even think about stopping it. Her half-brother lifted his arms out to the side, a long smile spread across his lips.
“Hug for your amazing brother?” he asked sweetly.
"Yeah, I'd love to hug my 'amazing' brother. Where is he?" Nessa replied rather loudly, animatedly looking around with a hand shielding her eyes, as if searching the horizon. She laughed at her own joke before darting forward to wrap her arms around him, squeezing him tightly.
"Gods, I missed you so much," she admitted, resting her head on his left shoulder.
"And speaking of mischief," Nessa continued excitedly as she pulled out of the embrace, her eyes bright with an impish fire, "I did something I think you'll be rather proud of! My neighbor was acting like such a jerk, blasting his radio at two in the morning as soon as I got back and yelling at my little brother so I went with Brent to the creek by our house and as a little 'science' project, we raised probably three dozen frogs together and set them loose in his house! How's that?" she challenged. She could always dream that she pulled a bigger prank than Teddy, but he somehow always managed to blow her idea out of the water. He just had a natural knack for it, sharpened over the years.

"By that way, I took up a job at a joke shop near my house. I brought back a couple things I thought you'd get a kick out of," Nessa stated while she haphazardly dug through her leather messenger bag until she pulled out a crumpled up paper bag that looked a little worse for wear. On it, in black Sharpie, a rather crude teddy bear was drawn on it, a sly smile on the cartoon's face so it ended up looking more demonic than anything you'd actually hug. The girl opened the bag eagerly to show him the gifts.
"See? I got you a couple packs of smoke bombs, firecrackers, a pair of those ridiculous fake glasses with the big nose and there should be a couple fake severed fingers in there."

Teddy can only laugh at his sister’s joke, his own lopsided grin never wavering as Nessie teases him. He doesn’t hesitate to return her sentiment, giving her a friendly squeeze while she’s within his arms. “Missed you too Ness.” He mutters, before he’s chuckling to himself as he listens to Nessa’s prank. There are multiple reasons most people check their pockets after they’ve been around Hermes’ kids, one being that various valuables are likely to be pinched by the quick demi-gods, and another being that if they’re not taking things, they’re probably pulling some prank. The number of times juvenile Teddy placed spiders or large bugs in his teachers’ pockets before Aeonis is uncountable. Some eventually took to sewing up their pockets, though even this didn’t stop the creative young boy.

Teddy’s amusement at Nessa’s trick is clear in the delight evidenced in his eyes, and he gives her a congratulatory pat on the shoulder as he says, “You’ve learned well young student.” Then Teddy is left to watch in wonder as Nessa reveals a treasure trove of jokester’s gold. Teddy picks up one of the smoke bombs, his grin turning decidedly sinister as various plots and ploys pop up in his scheming mind. “Did I ever mention that you’re my favourite sister?” Teddy jokes, slipping a smoke bomb into his pocket followed by a few firecrackers – they may come in useful if this special guest speaker proves as dull as some they’ve had in the past.

“I got you something too, not stolen.” Teddy admits, idly picking up a pair of glasses and testing them out on his face. “Only I left it in my room so I’ll have to give it to you later today.” Teddy jiggles the glasses with his fingers and grins at his little sister as he adds, “It’s a shirt of one of those superheroes you love so much, and I got you some CDs. Those were stolen, but only because I didn’t know what one you’d like better and I didn’t want to spend millions buying every one of them.”

Nessa is more than pleased when she spies the visible delight in her half-brother's warm eyes as hears her story and even more proud when he compliments her, her skin sinking into a rather flattering shade of pink, stemming from obvious pride. Praise from her brother wasn't necessarily scarce nor was it constant, but it always felt amazing, like she accomplished something much more substantial than filling a suburban house with amphibians. While Teddy was left to root through the bag of tricks, Nessa could already see the telling signs that a plan was formulating in that brain of his. It was quite impressive how quickly Teddy could come up with a prank and carry it out successfully before his sister even had the chance to think up something on her own. That's probably why they worked so well together, they could fill each other out in areas they lacked and together they were a dynamic duo, a Batman and Robin of a sort. The only issue with that analogy was neither of them wanted to be Robin over Batman. As Teddy continues on to tell her about her own gifts he was thoughtful enough to pick up for her, Nessa is utterly beaming at her brother in the fake joke glasses, so glad they're able to see each other again. Surely, the two could've easily stood and talked outside the building all day if not for the monstrous roar Nessa's stomach gave out, reminding her that she still had yet to eat.
"Shall we go in? I'm still quite curious to see who that guest speaker is. Hopefully it's not some stupid presentation about the importance of academics. Those bore me to death" Nessa smiled, yanking the door open and hanging loosely off of the handle and swept a graceful hand towards the interior of the building.
"Ladies first?" she asked eloquently, batting her eyes fakely at Teddy.

Taking off the pair of fake glasses and tucking them into a spare pocket, Teddy grins at his younger sister as she pulls the door open for him. “Why thank you good sir.” Teddy replies, giving Nessa a teasing wink as he glides through the open door. “It’s so pleasing to know the youth of today know how to respect their elders.” He adds once he’s stepped into the dining hall, turning on his heels as he waits for Nessa to follow through. With the grin wide on his face, Teddy glances around the hall, taking in the many individuals that were already gathered and waiting. He spotted a few familiar faces, some he liked, some he disliked, and some he knew to avoid thanks to previous interactions with them that hadn’t gone entirely to plan. Not that Teddy worried too much about those who he needed to avoid, he was fast and had plenty of tricks up his sleeve.

“Where would you like to sit, Ness?” Teddy asks, turning his attention back to his half-sister as a thought comes to him. “I can get a clone to grab us some food while we nab a table.” Cloning had to be one of his favourite powers. If you thought one Theodore Fawkes was bad, wait until he’d cloned himself a handful of times. Oh, the glorious fun that could be had with an army of clones and a bag of tricks.

Nessa followed her brother through the door to the dining hall, a smile dancing on her lips. The two siblings looked around the dining hall and Nessa could feel her heart swelling in her chest. The hope of a new year was a sweet taste on her tongue.
"Doesn't matter where we sit," Nessa assured Teddy, "As long as we get a good view of the guest speaker. She walked a little further into the room and looked over her shoulder.
"How about you choose and I'll grab our food. It's too early in the week to deal with two Teds, y'know?" Nessa joked and jokingly mimed hanging herself, poking her tongue out of the corner of her mouth before heading to the back to grab a couple trays and pile them on with food. Now if there was one thing that she could never get tired of, it was probably the cooking at the Academy.

“As you say m’lady.” Teddy replies with a formal bow, grinning from ear to ear as Nessa mimes hanging herself. Teddy merely winks, hardly concerned and stands to begin his search for an appropriate table. Though he spies numerous faces he could sit with, Hermes’ son decides instead to opt for a currently unoccupied table, desiring to catch up with his half-sister without the distraction of others. Well, that’s one of the reasons. The other is the welcome back prank he’d like to discuss with his mischievous sister, which had all sorts of of new possibilities thanks to her numerous gifts.

As Nessa headed back to Teddy, balancing the trays precariously on her arms, she stopped short when her eyes fell back on him. A rather evil smile stretched across her cheeks and she raised a questioning eyebrow at him when she dropped the trays on the table with a clatter.
"I know that look." Nessa stated calmly, picking up her fork to inspect it like it was overly interesting. She ran her fingertips along it's cold metal edges slowly until her gaze slid slowly over to the boy next to her, her icy blue eyes locking on his.
"What're you planning?" she inquired conspiratorially, leaning closer to him so their shoulders touched.
"Hopefully, it's something that won't disappoint me," she murmured through a supressed smile.

Teddy did so love having a sister who could read him by the devious smile on his face. His eyes sparkle as she takes her seat, waiting for her to ask him the question she so obviously wants to ask. When she does there’s a conspirator’s air to the pair as they lean in close. Teddy picks up a piece of food and plops it into his mouth, mentally running over which plan of the many he’d like to try first. “Well, I would love to stick fireworks down Aiden Stuart’s pants, but since, sadly, maiming another student is frowned upon at this school I’ll have to stick to the smoke bombs.” Teddy explains, dropping his voice so only Nessa can hear him as he glances over to where Hecate’s less fortunate son (in Teddy’s opinion) sits. “Though if we wanted to welcome everyone back to school all we’d need is to clone a few tomatoes, an electric fan, and a dozen canisters of silly string.” Teddy’s grin widens, as he adds in a whisper, “It’ll make last year’s prank look like child’s play.”

"It sounds glorious," she admitted with a certain flourish to her words before cutting into her pancakes, a brooding air to her as she ran over the items in her head. With tools like these, it wouldn't be very hard to create something that would be spectacular.
"This'll be the year we create something legendary. I feel it in my bones. They'll call our crimes a work of art," Nessa declared determinedly before shoving a huge bite of the pancake into her mouth.
