Something about the way that Stephanie easily smiled at him when he returned made him question whether or not she believed his little white lie. He adjusted himself into the seat, straightening his posture and letting his left hand casually grasp Steph's knee. His thumb lightly going back and forth over bare skin and before looking to her, his eyes nervously darted for the window before settling on his wife.
"Dinner?" For some reason, the idea of actually being cooked for had not even crossed his mind. He was not used to being waited on and the idea was entrancing. He may enjoy this job more than others, especially since he had some company that, so far, resembled him as well.
"Hmmm. I like lasagna. Garlic bread is good too." He lightly chuckled and turned himself so he was looking at her full on now. His hand found it's way up her thigh before he took it away and set it into his own lap.
"So what mindless job shall we partake in while we are here?" He asked her, placing his arm around her shoulder and letting his nails scratch along her arm as he thought on the idea of what he would do with his free time. He rather enjoyed reading, and finding a job at Barnes & Noble would do him justice and he would thankfully use the extra percent taken away from prices to his advantage. Although, he would not want to be away from the house for long, so something that took place shortly during the afternoon seemed like it could be used better as well. He sighed, lost in his mind again, only hanging on to the sound of her voice.
He turned to eye her again and let his left arm reach and gently tug a piece of stray hair away and behind her ear. This was somehow getting easier and he was surprising himself by how cautious he was being the way he touched her. It was not normal for him, but it came out naturally.
