Katrina Mountbatten's Story

Morgana sighed as she sat up and started to climb out of bed. The light peaking out from behind her deep red velvet curtains blinded her. She immediately glanced over at the curtains and swept her right hand, closing the curtains. She sighed and stretched a bit before standing up and walking over towards her closet. Of course she was never too excited about having an arranged marriage, but she knew she at least needed to look nice.

Morgana pulled on a dark purple dress with sleeves that hung off her shoulders. She brushed through her hair before draping it over either of her shoulders, topping her head with her tiara. Before sliding on her heels, she placed a pearl necklace around her neck with a matching set of pearl earrings. She let out a soft sigh before making her way out to the ballroom and sat down on the right side of her father, across from her sister.

The entire time she sat there, she ignored everything that was being said. All she wanted to do was get out of there and get meeting this man done and over with. When she heard the announcement that Prince Arthur and Prince Nikolai have arrived she sighed and sat up straight in her chair. Morgana didn't want to deal with a speech about sitting up straight like a future queen should be.

When one of the men walked over to her and introduced himself she just looked him up and down, finding that he wasn't bad looking but she still didn't know this man. "Morgana," she stated with her British accent.

Nikolai couldn't believe today was the day he was going to be meeting his future wife. There was no denying how nervous he was about this, especially since he knew how some female's acted when they were to be wedded to a man they have never met before in their lives.

A huge smile plastered upon his face as his brother and him finally made it to the castle. They were just one step closer to meeting these beautiful women. Though once they stepped inside and was announced to the kingdom he glanced over at the table, finding that his eyes instantly fell upon a gorgeous brunette in red lace. Once Arthur claimed the dark beauty, he didn't mind that at all. His mind was set on the porcelain beauty.

Nikolai made his way through the ballroom and bowed in front of the princess and took her hand within his, placing a small kiss upon her hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you, love. I'm Nikolai," he stated with a soft smile.

Morgana rolled her eyes at her sister's comment. How could Katrina be so okay with this. Her father pretty much just gave his daughters away to strange men they have never met before in their lives. How could he know if they were a good pick for his daughters? If they were going to treat them the way they deserved to be treated.

Morgana glanced over towards her father after hearing Arthur's request for a dance and Nathaniel just nodded his head at her, telling her to take the offer. She sighed and returned her attention towards the attractive male before her and placed her hand in his before standing to her feet.

Though the second Morgana touched the male, she felt something strange radiating off of him. Whatever it was didn't sit right with her. With her magic, she could sense things from people just by touching them if they had their guard down. She found herself becoming lost in thought about all the possibilities this feeling could be about.

Nikolai smiled and bowed towards her, "The pleasure is all mine Katrina," he stated before standing straight up and took her offer. "I'd love to," he answered and held his arm out towards her to take it before following her through the castle out to the garden.

He kind of felt bad for his brother. Morgana seemed like she was going to be a hand full for him. Then again, he always did have a strange taste for the girls with attitude problems. Though he shook his attention away from the thoughts of his brother and looked over towards Katrina. "You are the most beautiful woman I had ever laid my eyes upon, love," he complimented.

Morgana gave a polite smile and thanked him, "Thanks," she stated as she began to waltz with him. Apparently he was able to quickly pick up on how she felt about her father and the arranged marriage. Though she wasn't surprised. She was never one to hide how she felt about things.

Morgana sighed and nodded her head, "Please don't take it personally," she stated to him. She didn't want to get into the subject of her being magical. If he found out about that, she wasn't sure what was going to happen. Her father didn't want her letting anyone know she has magic because everyone would find out about the major hypocrite he truly is.

Nikolai smiled, "Please, just call me Nikolai, love," he stated to her as he glanced around the garden. This truly was a beautiful place. His garden back at home didn't seem to compare to how beautiful this one was. Everything about it was a whole lot more...magical. He sat down on one of the benches and looked to her. "Does your sister always act like that?" he questioned, mainly for the sake of his brother.

Morgana just nodded her head at his words and continued dancing with him. "I just hope Nikolai," she always called her father by his name because ever since her mother died he changed and pretty much began treating her sister a whole lot better than he treats her. Though she didn't get it. They were both his daughter, not just Katrina. "doesn't think I'm ever going to be okay with the arranged marriage. Even if we do end up falling in love or whatever. That doesn't mean I'd be okay with this. I should be able to choose who I want to spend the rest of my life with, not him," she added.

Morgana sighed and stated, "Sorry I'm loading all of this on you, I just don't really have anyone else to talk to. Please don't take any of this personally. I'm sure you're a great man."

Nikolai sighed after hearing her words about Morgana. At that point he knew his brother had his work cut out for him on her. Though after hearing her question he just shrugged his shoulders a bit and answered, "It's not that big of a deal for me. Whatever is better for the kingdom, I'm fine with dealing with. Besides, after meeting you, I'm sure there would be no problems."

He stood back to his feet and continued walking around the garden with her.

Morgana was shocked when she heard that he was a bit in denial about the arranged marriage as well. From the way he was acting she found that hard to believe. He seemed to be accepting it a whole lot easier than Morgana, herself was, that's for sure. Though part of her envied the way he was thinking about this entire situation. But no matter how hard to tried to pretend like she was okay with it, she knew she most likely never would be. Though once the subject was changed to her father, she glanced over at him, finding him with his arms crossed at his chest just watching over the crowd with the same expression on his face since the day her mother passed.

Morgana sighed and just nodded her head. "I've never seen him smile since the day mother passed. Though because of what happened to mother is the reason why father banned magic in the kingdom," she explained with a soft sigh and gave a polite smile at his compliment. Just because she didn't like the situation, it didn't mean that gave her any rights to take her rage out on him. It was her father's fault.

Nikolai gave a polite nod of his head at her words and smiled. "Thanks love," he stated as he reached over to one of the orchid plants a picked one of the flowers from it and handed it over towards her. "This has always been one of my favorite flowers, but it's not nearly as gorgeous as you are," he stated as he gave her a soft kiss upon her cheek, hoping that he hadn't crossed the line.

Morgana found herself frozen a bit when she noticed him removing a strand of hair from her face. Everything about this situation was so strange and in a way very uncomfortable. She was to marry this stranger in a week and there was nothing she could do or say about it. Though as much as she hated the thought, she had an idea. If I were to kill father, then maybe, she shook the thought from her mind. This wasn't the woman she was. She would never kill a man, no matter the circumstances.

"Thanks," she stated to him with a soft smile after finding herself coming out of the shock. Though that's when she figured she mind as well get to know this man a bit more. "So, um, how do you feel about magic?" she questioned. She figured that if she asked him about it she would find out if she could tell him the truth about herself or not. If he was against it she would keep it hidden, if it were okay with him, she would tell him. Because even though she wasn't okay with the marriage, she never believed a relationship should start with secrets.

Nikolai just smiled at the woman's words and shrugged his shoulders. "There is no reason for me not to be kind to you. Besides, you're being kind to me and I treat everyone the way they treat me," he stated to her as he took her hand in his and continued walking through the garden. "Do you by chance know which kingdom the two of us would be taking over?" he questioned. Ever since the beginning of the journey to this kingdom, that question has been plaguing his mind.

Morgana just gave a soft smile after hearing his answer and grabbed a hold of his hand and began leading him through the castle, towards her chambers. Once they arrived she closed the door behind them and looked to him. "Look at this," she stated as she held out her hand and a ball of golden, flickering lights appeared in her palm. Morgana's eyes shifted into a golden color as she used her magic, showing him who she truly was.

She closed her hand into a ball, causing the lights to disperse and go out, her eyes returning to her natural hazel color. "Father told me and my sister to stop using our magic after the death of our mother. If anyone found out he was against magic and was killing everyone who was caught using it, they would turn against him even more because he kept his daughters alive," she explained to him as she sat down on the edge of her bed.

Nikolai nodded his head at her answer with a soft sigh. He really wanted to know where he was going to end up. That would just make him feel a bit more comfortable about this whole situation. Because even though he wouldn't mind it either way, it was something that just had to be known. The male sighed and glanced up at the sky, noticing that the night was beginning to settle into the kingdom.

"Why does your father seem to be so out of it?" he questioned, feeling a bit curious about this whole situation. Ever since he met the male he hadn't seen even a smidge of a smile upon his face. There was something going on with him but he wasn't sure exactly what it was.

Morgana was honestly more shocked than anything at his reaction to her abilities. Though what he didn't know was all the terrible things she has done with it and all of the other things she was capable of. Besides, more than once the thoughts of killing her own father overwhelmed her to the point of her almost going through with it. Though she knew that if anyone were to find out she was the cause of it, her life would immediately become hell.

She looked up at him after he kissed her cheek and sighed. "Please don't tell anyone about this. It would cause a lot of trouble that I'm not in the mood to deal with," she added as she then removed her sight from him and looked down at the ground. No matter how hard she tried to keep telling herself that she shouldn't be okay with this whole marriage idea and being forced to marry a stranger. Part of her was glad it was him. Though she knew she shouldn't be jumping to conclusions so quickly. For all she knew he could end up being someone she shouldn't even be giving the time of day to.

Nikolai was dumbfounded when she told him that her and Morgana had magic. Though he couldn't seem to understand why their father was killing everyone who could use magic when his own daughters used it. He just nodded his head at her words and sat down on the bench beside her. "I have no problem with that. Though it does rise a couple questions. Why would your father kill everyone else, knowing that you two possess the magic as well?" he questioned. Hoping that this wouldn't be a question that was too personal.
