Rebus is thousands of years old, though he appears to be in his late forties. He stands an average height of 6ft, and is of medium build. He has blue eyes, and short, light brown hair. When working he dresses in expensive suits, shirts with solid silver cuff links, and Italian leather shoes. His watch is a genuine Rolex, and on the ring finger of his right hand he wears a ring which resembles some sort of family crest, but which is in fact his demonic talisman. When not working he wears open necked shirts, but apart from that pretty much the same as when he's working. You won't catch Donn Rebus in jeans and trainers!
He has almost forgotten how to shape shift into his demonic form, but if he were to do so it would be to resemble a semi-upright snake-lizard, complete with forked tongue and red scaly skin. His eyes have been known to glow red, but only in private.
The unusual spelling of his first name comes from the fact that he is in fact the demon Donn, one of the highest ranking demons in Hell. Rebus, the surname he has chosen for himself, comes from his favourite hell hound. He chooses to live out his life on Earth among mortals as it amuses him to see them struggle for power, fight, suffer and fail.
Sly, cunning, a brilliant and ruthless business man, he is quick to reward those who please him, but quicker to order the deaths of those who do not.
Rebus enjoys the finer things in life ~ good food, fast cars, young women (though not too young). He has been around for a long time, and so has the measure of most human frailties. He likes to see bright young people in the prime of their lives fall, getting themselves deeper and deeper into trouble until, finally they are lost. He especially likes to draw in those of the upper classses, those who seem to have everything. It amuses him to watch their lives fall apart.
Donn was among the original angels to be cast out of Heaven with Azazel. He quickly saw an opportunity for gain, and worked his way up in the ranks until he had the ear of the devil. From his place at his side he began to cause dissention in Hell, until chaos reigned. After a few thousand years he grew bored, and turned his attention to God's newest playthings ~ humans. These feeble creatures looked like fun, with all their insecurities, hopes and dreams. He asked the devil for a mortal form, and thus began his reign on Earth.
He never tired of causing the downfall of men and women. They were ever needy, ever searching for the next buzz, never satisfied. And this suited Donn down to the ground. He could give them what they wanted... for a price.
Lately his gaze has fallen on one young girl ~ Dahlia, whom he has made certain has ended up working for him. He saw her lost and afraid, picked her up and gave her hope, and now she is as reliant on him as any of the other poor unfortunates he has collected.
