Personality: Katelynn is what most people would label as 'goth'. She likes to put on lots of makeup, especially eyeliner, and is quite antisocial. The fact that she made any friends at all is a wonder; to this day, she's still not very sure how she did it. She doesn't care about what people say or think of her, and usually keeps to herself.
Katelynn doesn't intentionally try to draw attention to herself, and keeps her head down most of the time. She's usually quiet and goes with the flow, taking everything in her stride. However quiet and demure she may seem, though, she's actually quite the star. She will speak up when she deems it necessary, and will not hesitate to fight for what she thinks is right. Katelynn, when not in school, is very vivacious and full of life, and will light up everybody's life.
She cares a lot for people around her, especially her friends. She would do anything for them at a moment's notice, as long as it's not against her beliefs. She is an animal-lover, and raises many stray animals in the house she shares with her cousin (see History and Other). She is also very musically inclined, as is shown by her love of music.
History: Katelynn's parents didn't care much about her. Her mother was always working (she was an accountant), and her father was constantly drunk. When her mother wasn't at work, she was arguing loudly with her father, who came home drunk every night. Katelynn was sick of not being noticed by her parents, and tried all ways and means to get their attention. She changed her style; she became a 'goth'; for a short stint of time, she even tried smoking. However, not one of her ventures worked.
At school, Katelynn became more and more withdrawn. She caught the attention of two girls, who befriended her. These two friends brought out the best in Katelynn; she became vivacious and lively again, her old self. She treated her friends as though they were sisters, and loved them very much.
Recently, however, her parents were killed in a car crash. Katelynn was devastated. She was sent to live with an older cousin nearby, so luckily she didn't have to shift very far. But she was badly shaken by the deaths (they were her parents, after all), and became sadder, mourning the loss. Still, when her friend suggested that she go with her for a summer holiday, she was excited for it.

Other: Katelynn owns many pets in the house she shares with Nicky, her cousin, most notably four kittens which she has named after the Avengers. Nicky is a little frustrated about the number of pets, but she takes care of them nonetheless.
