Setting
(These events happen in chronological order, BTW. Also, Y=Year, R=Reckoning.)
0Y 0R, The Land Before Time.
Before the time of the Old Gods, the True Gods rained supreme. Nothing is known of the true gods, other than they were the creators of man. They formed time its self, and formed the Holy Land. They created man in there image, made them inadvisable, and immortal. Perfect. From here, man thrived, with no gods to control them, they lived happy lives free of crime, free of poverty, but also free of love. Mankind was pure, and the gods were not needed.
For 100's of years man lived this way. Until one day the True Gods left, and left not a trace of them. Mankind felt lost without there gods, and one day the felling of confusion, turned into fear, and fear into hate, and hate, into war.
Mankind started the first wars with each other. Slaughtering each other, hopping one day the True Gods would return, but they never did. That was when Praxus was created.
1Y 1R, The Birth of the Old Gods.
War, anger, and fear was the first emotions mankind felt, and from there hate there started to spawn creatures that reflected there anger. The Darklings were created from this, and werewolves, vampires, and orc's from them, and death fallowed behind. It was as if once the true gods left, mankind was no longer perfect.
But, it is said that love was the next emotion mankind felt. From this, Pruna was born. Pruna is said to be the only old god to not be evil. Pruna brought comfort to the, now mortal, humans. She allowed humans to fall in love with one another, and have children.
And from here, the other gods were created.
2Y 1R-1976Y R1, The Rain of the Old Gods, and the birth of Mora.
For almost 2000 years the Old Gods ruled over mankind. Through this span of time, the humans became shadows of the perfect beings they once were. After years of being tortured by the Old Gods, the savior Mora was born. Pruna, the Old Goddess of Love, found a man working in a mine. With his bones broken he swung his pick over and over again at the rocks, until Pruna revealed herself to him. It the events following this meeting are not clear, but soon after Mora was born.
It is said the day Mora was born, a booming echo went out across the land. One the Baron found unsettling. Knowing that she would be killed for her betrayal, Pruna hid the child in another plane of reality, one Mora would soon craft into Atherea. Despite Pruna's pleas to the Baron to spare Mora and the rest of the children, with one swift blow he took of the head of Pruna with his ax, but with her dieing breath she placed a ward on the realm where she placed the gods.
Fueled with rage Baron tried again and again to break the seal placed on the world, but he could not.
1977Y 1R-2000Y 1R, The Last Year of the Old Gods, the Rise of the New Gods.
Despite only being a year old the New Gods took forms in this new world, witch they called Atherea. From the other world they brought humans over through the portal, using Mora's powers to hold open the seal for periods of time, enough time for the other gods to slip into the Old Gods world and back into Atherea.
After bringing enough people back through to Atherea, the old gods started to notice. Once word had hit the Baron of humans going missing, he had had enough. With a rush of pure hatred, he tore at the seal Pruna had placed on the world until finally, it cracked.
As the seal cracked, it is said that the earth literally split into 2, and the island Grim Forge rose from the ocean, along with the Old Gods themselves. But once the Old Gods had broken through, the New Gods had grown powerful enough to fight them, and next to them stood the first Army of Man.
2000Y 1R-1Y 2R, Banatrix, the Grim Forge, and the Fall of the Old Gods.
During the Year Long War of the Gods, the Old Gods nearly won. The Barons ax acted as an unstoppable force. Until Mora discovered its secret. A select few werewolves that had grown tired of the Old Gods treatment of them infiltrated the Barons realm, and discovered the secret of his ax. Though many of them were killed, they had discovered that the ax had been crafted in the fires of the Black Anvil, the island that rose with the Old Gods, the base camp for the Old Gods army's.
Mora herself went to the island, and through her sword into the fires. After the sword had reemerged, it had been granted the power to capture the souls of those who it slays, even the souls of Old Gods.
Finally, Praxus and the other gods staged a final offensive assault on the gods.
Unaware of Mora's new weapon the Old Gods and there army charged the city of Mora. After days of endless war, the Old Gods pushed into the House of Mora, and Praxus himself into the Inner Sanctuary.
There, Praxus and Mora combated each other for days. But it was Praxus who made the final error. Filled with rage at Mora, he charged at her with ax, swinging it down with such speed the entire realm shook. Thinking that his final attack had worked, the Baron stood back to find Mora behind him, with Banatrix buried deep in his heart. The Old King, had fallen.
Mora walked out of the Inner Sanctuary, a full god. With the power of pure light corseing through her body she slaughtered every darkling in her path all the way up to the highest point of the temple. With a grunt of great strength she lifted the Barons body high into the air, only to throw it out into the sea, where it is suspected it still lies.
From there, the darklings stopped there assault, and one-by-one Mora hunted down the Old Gods, filling Banatrix with there souls. Today, Banatrix lies safe inside of the Inner Sanctuary, out of reach of any of those who wish to free the Old Gods.
