Personality:
Vermill is a teenager who enjoys the smile. His, yours, anyone’s! To him, the smile is a hidden jewel that’s lost in the current times. Everyone worries too much, thinks too maturely. He likes a simple life, simple thoughts. That makes others think that Vermill is childish and stupid. In truth however, Vermill just cannot face the truth. He’s a ‘baby’ that requires people to lead him in the world, to show him the truth that he continuously wishes to deny. He has a great hatred deep inside him that he doesn’t even realize, a hatred towards the Titans that cage them within their walls, farm animals ripe for the picking when time comes. There is no freedom. A teenager like Vermill wants the freedom that was rightly entitled upon humans from the time the world came into being. While he may not realize it, he carries this hatred with him.
As childish as he is, this is what makes him such a charming person inside these walls. People enjoy his company during these terrible times. He does much to please others, even if it means not being able to please himself. Vermill is considered an introvert, shy and unable to easily socialize with others due to his different mindset and considerably childish behaviour. He is easily scared of anything, anything at all, from small, weird bugs to barking dogs or people who threatening him.
Vermill easily breaks under pressure and cries. In honesty, he cries at least once a day... before sleep. He cries, wondering why the world had terrible beings such as Titans who continually terrorize them. In the military, he is unable to sustain himself through the hardship. His characteristics do not make him a soldier, causing him to be constantly mocked and insulted by his peers and instructors alike.

Bio:
Vermill was first found by his ‘grandparents’ in a dumpster that was about to be cleaned and burnt. No one knows what happened prior to this, but Vermill enjoyed his life with his ‘grandparents’ who were just as loving as any parent. They were poor, but they managed to get by and Vermill never once regretted being picked up by these people. When he was 7, ‘grandpapa’ finally died of old age. Saddened by the death of her loved one, ‘grandmama’ followed suit the next year, leaving Vermill alone.
Living independently for the next two years, Vermill finally came across a cafe that had job vacancies. Wanting to earn money, he applied. Initially rejected, Eric realized that the child lived off the streets when he came across Vermill digging through their trash. He was finally accepted to work for the Mirabilas and not once had they regretted that decision. The child was a miracle worker, making amazing beverages that their business began booming. Eventually, Eric and Miri would adopt the child as one of their own.
Things continued the way they were for several years and Vermill found himself a beautiful, loving girlfriend when serving a customer. They had a great relationship until recently. Several months ago, a Titan managed to breach the Wall Maria. Caught unprepared and unknown as to how the Titan managed to slip through the wall, before the Scouting Legion could be deployed, the Titan had caused alot of havoc. Vermill watched helplessly as he cowered in a corner while the Titan ate his girlfriend. When a small team of Scouting Legion finally arrived, the Titan fought back with intelligence. Snagging one of the soldier’s lines, the poor soul was consumed, not before dropping his equipment. When the Titan proved too intelligent to confront, the Scouting Legion retreated and waited for back up.
The moment Vermill saw the Titan approach his family, he stopped being afraid and donned on the Multi-Axial Gear, albeit in a different fashion. Even till this day, the retreating Scouting Legion could not explain nor believe what they saw. A lone human flying through the air and slaying the Titan they had trouble fighting. When they returned, all they saw was Vermill standing before the Titan, still gripping the blades and wearing their Multi- Axial Gear before he collapsed.
This feat had gained the attention of the military and they personally came to escort the frightened teen from his family. While lacking in military training, he was immediately placed into a squad. Apparently they expected to replicate the same results, but it seemed that Vermill was incapable of that, only ending up being a cowering idiot in the face of death. Vermill was subjected to various trainings and even more punishing insults from his peers.
Though he wishes to resign, he knows it is futile and in fear, he kept quiet despite all the pain he has to endure. With nil years of training experience, nil years of combat experience...he was useless, yet they continued to stick him to his painful routine.
It was all for his family, that much he understood. That... they made clear.

-‘Vermill’ was a name given to him by his ‘grandparents’, along with the family name ‘Alae’. When he was adopted by the cafe owners, he was given the family name Mirabila. Vermill decides to keep both names, to honor his dead and living ‘parents’.
-Vermill has a unique two sided tumbler that he affectionately names ‘Double’, and is technically inseparable.
-Vermill changes his characteristics briefly once he is pushed to an undetermined limit, turning him as if into a completely different person. This is briefly seen when he slayed his first Titan to protect his family.

-Parents: Undetermined (He was an orphan)
-‘Grandparents’: They took baby Vermill in when they found him buried inside a dumpster. They acted as loving parents to the child, despite barely managing to feed themselves. They are now deceased.

-Eric Mirabila – 39 – Status: Alive – Eric hired the 10 year old Vermill back when he was still 21 and became a fatherly figure to the child. It wasn’t long before Eric took him in a son.
-Mila Mirabila – 38 – Status: Alive – Miri was the one who proposed to adopt Vermill and thus, Vermill treated Mila with respect.
-Miri Mirabila – 14 – Status: Alive – Miri was 9 when Vermill first worked for the Mirabilas. After Miri warmed up to the stranger, they’ve been inseparable siblings ever since.
-Alene Mirabila – 5 – Status: Alive – Alene’s name was actually given by Vermill when she was born. Alene is the closest to Vermill among the siblings and he pampers her.
